One of the most wonderful things about walking with God is that we can have an intimate and real relationship with him. He wants us to know him so well that we are comfortable talking to him about anything and everything. Yet, there are times when we feel disconnected and insecure. We desire to grow in prayer, but we don't know where to begin, what to say, or how to listen for his voice.
In She Prays , Debbie Lindell invites you on a 31-day journey to experience a confident and conversational relationship with your heavenly Father. She shows you how to replace the pressure to perform in prayer with a faith-filled expectation--trusting that God is delighted with every conversation and every word we whisper to him. Her desire is that your soul will be transformed as your confidence in prayer grows, and that your faith will be strengthened as you see God work through your prayers in ways you never imagined possible.
Wow. Just wow! Day 3: My soul LEAPT inside me as I read Debbie's words of what Jesus accomplished on the cross. The curtain was torn. We could now talk one on one with God. I never really thought about the significance of the curtain, the separation, and why it tore in two from top to bottom when Jesus died. The separation was removed. God was now inviting us in to the Holy of Holies to talk with Him.
This is what I love about this devotion. Always drawing you closer, always encouraging to take another step, always reminding that our heavenly Father loves us and wants us to pray, to talk with Him.
I've been honored to read this book before it's official release. Thank you to the launch team and Revell books.
I would highly recommend Debbie Lindell’s newest book, “She Prays”. I did not know what to expect when I started reading this book, but immediately it caught my attention and I had to stop, think, absorb and then reread again. I underlined so many key points that hit home and spoke to my soul. For those that struggle with praying and those who are novices, this book is blessed by God and filled with insight. If one wants a vibrant prayer life, then it must begin with the forgiving grace that only our Savior can provide. Sometimes, when I think what Christ has done, it’s so hard to take in and accept that He could want me as a child of God, when my life has been riddled with sin, or when I turned away after coming to the knowledge of Christ and the lengths he went to, to bring me back.
Pastor Debbie’s ease of writing and bringing forth the message of this books, feels like to friends sitting at a table and talking. Her passion for women to come to know the heart of the Father comes through so clearly. For those that have struggled with close relationships, it is often hard to understand how the Father could love us so deeply despite our many failings, but His tender heart is always turned toward us, calling us to Himself. He makes prayer our access channel directly to him, so that we can lay out the burdens of our hearts, seek forgiveness for our sins while drawing closer to him in prayer and the reading of His word.
The book is challenging, thought provoking and a MUST read.
Wow wow WOW!!! What an amazing devotional. This isn't a book that's full of fluff. This devotional challenges you to dive into the Word and grow in your prayer life. What a difference there would be in this world if women stood together, had the courage to rise up and pray heaven down! This is exactly the kind of faith-strengthening, hope-rising and JOY-giving devotional that you need in your life. Rise up and become the prayer warrior that God intended for you to be! **I received an advanced digital copy**
I was fortunate enough to be given advanced access to the book through the publisher. This book is breathing life into me! I’m reading a day each morning and it has helped me frame my day in a way that keeps me better focused on what is truly important. It’s so relatable and feels like the author is speaking directly to me.
This is a must read ! I feel as though I am just having a conversation with Pastor Debbie on prayer ! Her writing style makes it so easy to read and I wanted to read the whole book in one sitting ! You will want to get this book, as I know it will help you with your conversations with God as it has for me !
Amazing read! I received advanced copy digital style of the book. Enjoyed the style of writing the truth the genuine compassion the scripture the activities to do suggestions to listen to and read. All of it. Had some great great great paragraphs that spoke to me! I suggest it!
It is truly a blessing to be able to preview the book before it’s been released. I am embracing my digital copy as we speak. I too am like the young girl Pastor Debbie speaks about on the second day of the book. As a young, broken and lost girl who so desperately needed the love a father, I was just wandering through the words I heard in mass while attending church. Yet God saw the hunger in my heart and soul to be more like He created me to be. I mimicked my grandmother holding her rosary, I knelt, bowed my head and went through all the motions and even the emotions that went along with my simplistic prayer life as I knew how to. Looking back now, I see just how much I was missing along the way.
This book is going to open so many new doors to the hearts of young women of all faiths and walks of life. To feel the personal relationship that God has to offer each of us. To know Him even more directly and without even knowing, a best friendship and solid foundation with our Heavenly Father will be formed.
I pray that every young, old, newly saved or seasoned Prayer warrior will find an even deeper walk in her prayer life while reading “She Prays.” That personal intimacy in our words spoken as we pray are the sprinkles of favor and hope we leave to the generations that follow in our children’s and grandchildren’s journey of faith. It is even more evident that this is true as she starts out speaking about her great grandma Tina. Every girl needs a role model and this book is proof of just how powerful a praying woman can be.
You don’t want to miss this ladies. Grab your favorite blanket, kick off those shoes and grab that favorite pink mug... because God is about to blow your mind wide open.
I love the way She Prays begins by reminding readers how prayer started and what a gift it is for us to be able to experience. This opportunity for communication with God through prayer began with Jesus “opening a new way, a living way”. Then Debbie takes her readers on a beautiful journey teaching and reminding us of the beauty, benefits, and importance of prayer. I’m currently reading a digital copy but pre-ordered the book and am already planning to go through the journey again when the book arrives!
This is a great devotional book! She Prays is broken down into 31 bite sized chapters that are quick and easy to read, but packed with wisdom and truth. Each chapter has an action step or challenge at the end of it so you can put what you've just read into practice. Some of the topics that Debbie Lindell discusses are basic concepts that we often need to be reminded of, but others are deep insights into prayer that will make you think and will encourage you to continue to strengthen your prayer life. This book is definitely a great addition to your devotional time.
*Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an advanced reader copy

"She Prays" is a great 31 day devotional that uses each of those thirty one days to hit the reader right in the heart. Lindell shares her personal experiences, life lessons and daily encouragements to nudge the reader nearer to the heart of God. Prayer is often something people think has a specific script, but Lindell is here to tell you that isn't the case.
Debbie is an author, pastor's wife and creator of the Designed for Life Women's Conferences. She has also written another book I have not read yet, called "She Believes." Throughout personal narratives, real life examples of those who have dealt with a myriad of issues and basic reminders from Scripture, Lindell makes this devotional on prayer a welcome friend at the end of the day, or a fresh reminder first thing in the morning.
I resonated with many examples from Lindell's ministry and life. She is open, honest and truthful with the reader. The devotionals are well written and detailed, while remaining thoughtful to wherever the reader may be in their walk with Christ.
This would be a great book to use in a small group or women's group setting. There is enough 'meat' in each day's devotional that you could expound on it and draw personal connections to the subjects referenced. This would make a lovely gift for women of all ages, as the topic of prayer is applicable to us all.
I was an early reader, thanks to Revell publishers. All opinions are my own and I was not required to leave a review.
"When I was a young girl, I made the choice to follow Jesus. But then for years my understanding of sin far outweighed my understanding of God's grace."
Debbie Lindell captures my experience perfectly with that sentence. I grew up in church. There every time the doors opened. Became a Christian at a fairly young age. But for years, I didn't really grow closer to Jesus. I prayed, sure, but deep down, I trusted myself more than I trusted God. I didn't think I could really talk to Him.
In She Prays, Lindell blows that thought process to smithereens. In gentle, compelling language, she talks about just what it is that God did to give us access to Himself - the lengths He went to. She writes like a friend talks, and shares truth because she genuinely wants the reader to hear and understand it. And once her words started to sink in, that started to reshape my understanding of prayer.
I was privileged to read a digital copy of this book, but I like it so much, I'm going to need a physical copy to read and re-read.
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author. All opinions here are mine, and I don't say nice things about books I don't like.
Prayer is something that I would guess most Christians would like to improve upon. I have always felt that my prayer life could use improvement so I was looking forward to this book.
The format is very convenient for busy women…broken down into 31 days, each entry only takes about 5-10 minutes to read. There is space at the end of each entry (with lines for writing) to write notes and the author includes a prompt of reflection for each day. Each day begins with a verse from the Bible, which is extremely important to me.
The lessons learned in this book are very helpful and impactful, yet very accessible. I highly recommend this to all ladies who are looking to improve their discussions with the Lord.
My Rating 4.5 stars
I received this book from the publisher to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The author writes with great insight, sharing personal experiences, and giving the reader tasks to apply her strategies and suggestions to pray and converse with God. I will re-read the book as I think the ideas are wonderful and can continue to be applied at deeper and deeper levels. She's a very down to earth writer sharing practical strategies she applies, and even touches of humor.
The book has four themes that were so helpful. She prays with Understanding, with Knowledge, with Trust, with Power. I loved the optimistic and positive, growth mindset way that the author encourages the reader that speaking with God, while it feels like a daunting task, is achievable in simple ways.
a favorite quote: "Your prayer life is the doorway to a place beyond your everyday, feet on the ground life, into a whole new and colorful world."
Thankful to have an advanced copy to read from the publisher. I enjoyed it and would say it's a great book to own.
A quiet devotional that reminded me of the power, purpose, and significance of prayer. The reminder of the importance of what Jesus did for us and how prayer is a gift we've been given are great reminders as we continue to walk on our journey with Christ.
Wow, me encanto este libro/journal, siento que es una muy buena combinación de pasajes bíblicos y experiencias personales donde la oración tiene un papel principal.
I love the ease of Debbie's writing and her passion leaps off the pages. I feel I could come back to this over and over as I progress on my journey with Jesus. This book is for anyone in their spiritual journey, a MUST read!
I found this devotional easy to read. The division of the book into 31 daily sections was helpful, giving me something different to think about on the topic of prayer for each day of the month.
I’ve been a Christian for a long time and am familiar with most of the subjects covered in the book. However I still found it encouraging. I loved the writing style and I would definitely consider reading more by Debbie Lindell.
I think this book would be particularly helpful to someone who is a new Christian or for anyone who has grown up with the idea that prayers are formal and restricted to certain religious liturgy.
“She Prays” will take you through the foundations of prayer, how prayer is a part of our personal relationship with God and the power that prayer has.
I was dealing with some imposter syndrome lately in my prayer life, but not anymore! If your 'just a little talk with Jesus' needs improvement or you just need to start praying, go grab this one!
This is one that you must read! Debbie has a way with words and making her message hit home. Regardless of what your going through. God is using her in amazing ways!
Such a beautiful devotional! Pastor Debbie Lindell walks you through a 31 day faith strengthening journey, as you tune in to the voice of God and see his work through your prayers. I highly recommend this book! This would be a great gift for any woman.
Love this book!! I received an advanced copy via the publisher and I just couldn’t put the book down. Through this book, I’ve been able to dig deeper into my prayer life and find new ways to encourage other women. I highly recommend this book.
I don't usually read nonfiction. This book sounded really good. So , I decided to read and review it. It was really good! I loved the prayer prompts and that it included a place to write thoughts and prayers. I really liked the chapters. The author used instances from her own life. It made this book very interesting and helped you apply the lessons to your own life. I love books that bring you closer to God. I definitely want to start reading more nonfiction like this book.
*I received a free copy of this book from the publisher. All words expressed are my own.*
I enjoyed this book because it wasn't 'preachy' so to speak. It was like sitting down with a friend and having a quiet, meaningful conversation. It reminded me of the positive power of God, the Father, in my life and how he sent his Son so we may find forgiveness, joy, and love in our lives. There was a gentleness that came off the pages and really calmed my spirit. It's genuinely a great way to begin your day. I did receive this book in advance in exchange for my honest review.
