This is a fantastic book! It gives great insights to the way others perceive you and how that can impact your success. Laura Katen allays your fears about all the human interactions we all take part in. She offers such simple solutions for success, you will be shaking your head saying, I do that all the time, but never realized it. This book gives you the power to take control of your life and your career. It delves into a daily activity we never really think about, Communication. Everything from body language, what we eat, what we say, how we say it, all these little things that make up others' perception of us. This book gives real life scenarios that you can put into practice right away. Not many books can give you immediate results. It is so well put together and very interactive, it allows you to pause and actually take part in exercises. It's a book that encourages you to participate in the process, it's not so much a book you read but a book you live. Laura Katen pulls this all together in a great read, filled with Ah Ha moments. It’s a book you will cherish and keep close by for reference. Want to make an immediate impact on your career? Read The Read Communications Habit.

Excellent book. Fascinating insights and evidence-based research on the importance of effective communication- how and why it can help or hinder your professional success.
Better yet, author provides innovative methodologies and action items the reader can try in order to improve his or her OWN ability to communicate more impactfully.
I especially liked the section on the subtle nuances one might be doing or saying that could undermine their credibility. ie- being aggressive versus being assertive.
Every chapter includes an opportunity for the reader to self-assess through a quick “coaching corner” section- questions and exercises. I’m now using the tools she provided in the book everyday and having much more effective engagement with colleagues and clients alike.

Loved it! Excellent insights, tips & techniques

Great data, insights - and actionable ways to be a more effective communicator. Loved the coaching corner exercises- and “key” message sections. This is a must-read for all. Katen shows how effective communication is key for success- and how to maximize your own ability to be the best communicator possible, use the right communication methodologies to inspire teams / improve team productivity- and ultimately drive results. (Especially helpful strategies for those of us now WFH and communicating virtually.)

An exceptional book on communication. Gives a lot of practical tips on improving communication as a whole. It's a whole lot to take in on the first read, but I will definitely reread and use as a guide.

Love the "coaching corner" and "questions answered" sections. They provide more insights and increase your self awareness.
