When three strangers appear at his doorstep, Lord Reed Townsend, Duke of Huntington, knows something is not quite right. And it’s not just because his wolf immediately recognizes Elise Henney as his True Mate. But the cold, unfeeling Alpha doesn’t want to risk his heart again, despite the fact that his wolf is urging him to claim their mate. He ignores his instincts, hoping that the desire and longing he feels for the young American miss would eventually go away.
Transported from modern day New York to Regency England, wolf shifter Elise Henney and her companions deduce that their only way home lies with the London Alpha. But, Reed’s suspicious nature is a major hindrance, not to mention, his cold, unfeeling nature. Still, she can’t help but feel drawn to the broody duke, but he can never know who she really is or where she’s from.
Sparks fly despite their denial of their attraction to each other. But, Elise’s only way home relies on Reed’s fate, one she cannot change no matter what happens. Can they let history play out as it’s supposed to or will they defy time, in order to be together?
She's a witch lost in time. He's a cold, unfeeling Alpha wolf who's lost everything.
When they meet, sparks fly.
But he can never know who she really is and where she's from. Fate has brought them together, but will it also tear them apart?
While I've enjoyed all the True Mates Generations, A Witch in Time had such a unique story! It was unlike all the others. Reed and Elise really seemed to be in a hopeless, completely impossible, no way to happy ending these two love situation. It was refreshing, addicting, and unexpected. I finished this in one day.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 💋💋 A special and wonderful adventure with the True Mates .
I loved this book . That it was time travel , at first didn’t endear me to it , I’m not always a fan of them , but once I started it I was hooked completely.
To follow the group of friends back in time , and to share in their adventures was wonderful. Elise , Julianna and Cross were brilliant, meeting up with a Regency crowd, all Lycans . A Duke , Duchess , and their families.
This took the series to a whole new level , so well written, endearing characters, addictive plot , what more can you ask .
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book.
Welcome to True Mates Generations book 4 and after reading it I now want to watch Back to the Future!!! That’s right a couple of the true mate kiddos travel accidentally back in time after a attack by the mages. Elise Henney’s parents are the alphas of the San Francisco clan. She and her mother are in New York for the new Alpa’s ascension. Elise is a hybrid wolf/witch, she has never been able to control her powers so she wears gloves. When the mages attack during the ceremony she uses her powers and she, Julianna Anderson, and Cross Jonasson are transported back in time to Regent London. Reed Townsend is about to become the alpha of London when these unfamiliar people save his nephew. He is unsure of these new guest that he now has, he just knows that he is attracted to Elise and they are not telling the truth. As always the chemistry between True Mates is off the charts!! It’s crazy that Elise had to travel back in time to find her mate. Of course we gotta deal with the mages, it wouldn’t be a True Mates story without them trying the screw thing up. It was funny seeing 3 people from this time trying to fit in during that time period and Alicia Montgomery did a excellent job at making me feel that it was a smooth transaction be between time periods. I’m excited to see who will be the next True Mate kiddo to find their mate and to see if they can defeat the mages once and for all.
Finished this on the 2nd by forgot cuz meh It was good, good plot , we were going so strong and then the ending and how the drama and all was resolved like just no it wasn’t it. Ok their mates but from different timelines and there is time travel and all but like Johnny cuz from being alpha and duke and rich to living in a homeless shelter at the end because he ended up going back to her timeline. Like hun your no longer wanted now. Like you have downgraded so much. Ok rant over

I am not a fan of time travel books. Like one of the characters said “it makes my headache”. But the author did a good job. I enjoyed the characters and the story. Ignore the historical facts, etc. as well as the extreme unlike hood of Reed career, etc in NYC. Just enjoy.
Such a wonderfully magical story. It was so fun to read and the way the present and the past melded together was great. I enjoyed our friends from past books. We've been waiting for Lucas to have his ascending ceremony and its been interrupted by those darn mages again. Elise is the daughter of the San Francisco alpha attending with her mother. She is a hybrid being a witch and lycan, she's having trouble with her powers of electricity and if not wearing gloves she will electrocute with her touch. She Julianna and Cross get transported back to 1820, where Reed is preparing for his ascension ceremony. This part of the book was wondrous done in true fashion of historical romance genre, down to having Reed's grandmama sponsor the two new women into English society and the "marriage mart". It was cute reading all about their dance lessons, learning history and how to dress properly including having their own maids. All the while planning to return to their own time with the dagger the must have the blood of the alpha on it. Great writing once again love visiting the different countries. It's interesting watching Reed and Elise discover each other as true mates even as they try to deny, Elise knows the truth about what needs to happen but the ending is such a unexpected happy surprise.
I received ARC from the author for an honest review.
Historical paranormal time travel genre was not my cup of tea. I usually prefer one at the time but not the trifecta, but ms montgomery did an excellent job in blending the story. This is one of the best story I have read so far and I'm fan of her work. The story start from the last book, (u hv to read Alpha ascending or better yet the whole saga) with the ascending of Lucas, the new alpha of New York. The ceremonial dagger used was an artifact that the mages were looking with power to control time & space (kinda mix btw tesseract & time stone-marvel fan). Our heroine Elise, daughter of San francisco with a blessed witch Laura was a hybrid, a wolf with the power to control electricity. She has a traumatic experience with her power wear gloves and refused to touch anyone (Elsa everyone?). In combine with the dagger and her power, those in touch with the dagger transport to the past in London. She saved the to be ascend alpha of London nephew, but under suspicious with the alpha Reed Townsend the Duke of Huntington. Sparks flare btw them but Reed being betrayed before reserved his passion with Elise as his True mate. With Reed destiny to die during the ascending, and they can't change the outcome or risk the future timeline, can both of then find happiness and trust faith of True mate knows best? I was worried about Elise and Reed, time travel can be tricky to maneuver ,but the author did it splendidly. Both the main characters have trust issues, Reed with people around him and Elise with herself and they both come together and compliment each other. This story did have a sad element but the twist differentiate it from other books in the same saga. I can't wait for the next book featuring Julianne, the 2nd daughter of former new york alpha and hopefully Cross and dee booms next. Keep up the great work!!!

The story mostly takes place in the past with some time traveling. Its a great story that I kinda felt deserved a little more on Reed in modern times after he travels into the future. It would perhaps been nice if their visit in modern times to Scotland and England was in the book to at least explain the past and what happened to all those who play a big part in this story... Like his grandmama and his sister, and William. I always feel like time traveling requires much more to make it a great story. This is a good story its just missing some bits. Like how does an Alpha of a clan overnight become more like a beta? He should still feel and be an Alpha... Its interesting the relationship and time difference between the characters. This story also spends a lot of time on a relationship that is just an influence to his way of being... It could have been a memory that explained why he was hesitant to be in a relationship with his true mate... Leaving more room for his and her relationship. Most the story he is fighting against having a relationship, then he is pushed forward in time and realizes she was telling him the truth... And he suddenly has completely changed as his future self... He's a beta, he is devoted to her and all is happy... Nothing is like it was in his original time... That's kinda strange. Its good but time travel stories aren't my favourite... I hope some of the questions might get answered in the next story which seems to include his ancestors.
I happen to love both historical and paranormal romance, so this book hit all my buttons. The time travel was handled very well and the "paradox" moments are fun to watch for. Don't worry no butterflies were harmed. Some of the best moments were the clashes between past and present. Juliana's reaction to the past was great. I loved how annoyed she got when they thought she was old at 24 when she is really 26 or her response to the London Season. The H and H interactions had that great dichotomy, too. Most of Reed and Elise's beginning smexy moments had that hesitancy/lust feel of a historical but for different reasons. The only thing that kept this from being a 5 for me was that at times it was a bit too quick. I know this is often a problem with a book you are enjoying but both Reed and Elise has some serious concerns to deal with that seemed to solve themselves because they were true mates. Especially in the case of Elises's power problems, I would have liked a little more unpacking. Once again, Montgomery 's teasing about future books is outstanding. I have been waiting for Cross or DeeDee for ever (although a mention on a spoiler thread has got me thinking I might be wrong about who ends up with who) but now, I have got to find out what happens with Juliana.I I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
I've enjoyed all of the True Mates books, so I was very excited to read this. It did not disappoint.
I had a little trouble getting into the time travel aspect of the story in the beginning. I'm not really sure why, but I'm glad I pressed through.
I enjoyed "watching" Reed fall for Elise. I don't know if it was the struggle with the impropriety of the situation (he shouldn't have been alone with, let alone sneaking passionate kisses with, Elise) or if it was the struggle with his past (his cheating first wife)...but his being with Elise was so truly romantic. (Rather Austen-esque when I think about it.)
Even though I'd figured out who the "bad guys" would turn out to be, the actual reveal was still a bit surprising. There is a bit of excitement in waiting for the other shoe to drop... who's going to do what...and when...and what are the repercussions?
I loved Julianna in this, especially her dealings with the dowager duchess (Reed's grandmother). I also loved seeing more of Cross in this story. (I wouldn't mind seeing his story!)
I love the True Mates stories, and I know this one just came out today, but I'm already excited for the next one!!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of the new instalment in the series. This is a very special book. The two main characters Elise and Reed are from two completely different times. It explores how these two ‘damaged souls’ despite their failure to recognise and or accept their destiny are meant to be in a time when ladies are courted and kept at a distance. 😍Reeds’ family all know their true mate on first sight/ smell, which spices things up a bit. 😂 Alongside these two , we have some fantastic characters, a special mention should be had for Julianna ( the laugh a minute cousins whose antics will have you laughing out loud) and the brooding , complex Cross. The mages are also an important aspect of this story as is their desire to return home. I really enjoyed this book. It is so vivid that you can imagine you have gone back in time yourself and although it appears that their happily ever after is a work of fiction. There is a big twist which I did not see coming. I can not wait for the next one in the series.
Wow! I'm absolutely hooked on this series and can't wait for the follow up! Nothing like combining Lycans, witches , evil mages *AND* time travel?? Count me in! Elise and her friends were at their local Lycan Alpha awakening ceremony and everyone was suddenly attacked by mages. Taken by surprise by the evil mage threatening to kill her, she had to do the one thing she feared in order to survive. Taking off her gloves she let her 1/2 witch power free. Tons of electricity coursed through her fingers into the swine holding her. Next thing she knew she and her two friends were in a strange new place that none of them recognized. Surprise! Welcome to the 1800's!!! What the heck were they going to do! Enjoy their stumbles and bumps along the way in order to save their future pack by retrieving something in the past with limited knowledge....and maybe fall in love along the way. Believe you me there are more than a few surprises along the way! I for one can't wait for the next book!!!!
The True Mates series is one of the best series I have read to date! If you enjoy paranormal romances or time traveling novels, this book more than covers these areas and offers the reader so many exciting moments. While you can read any book in Alicia Montgomery's series alone, you really should start at the beginning. I loved the True Mate series from the start and reading about their children and their mates is an absolute pleasure. Time travel is very difficult to navigate. The paradoxes are phenomenal but, Alicia did it! Reed and Elise shouldn’t have met, but love and fate finds a way for True Mates to meet across time. I loved the flash backs to times gone by and enjoyed reading how Elise, Julianna and Cross tried to fit into life 200 years in their past. I have enjoyed each one of the books in this series and can’t wait to continue the journey in the next one. Who was that man that Julianna bumped into? Do yourself a favor, buy the books! I was offered an advanced copy of this book for an honest review.
Ms Montgomery is really cooking with this series. This book starts in a page turning place and continues in the same vein from there right till the end. Interesting and enjoyable story with a time travel plot that works well. The author does well with the authentic description of the time period. We find out what happens to Cross, Julianna and Elise, who is our heroine this time around, when they disappeared at the end of the last book. Our wonderfully brooding hero is Reed, an English Duke. We have a couple in this book with what seems to be no happy outcome due to the dictates of history. Neither seem to acknowledge they are True Mates until it basically hits them over the head. This could be due to the fact they stay as far away from each other as possible, thus making this story lack romance. Once they have sex, everything then fast forwards. Great teaser with Juliana at the end, cannot wait for that story. This is my honest review of this book kindly given to me and also read through Kindle Unlimited.
A new twist for the True Mates, this story goes back in time to 1820's Regency England. It's a wonderful twist, smartly done, and adds a whole new angle to the Lycan history. Reed is set to become the Alpha of London in 1820, and Elise, Cross, and Julianna are unexpectedly transported back to his time by a mage.
This unique setup is thoroughly explored as our American Lycans try to figure out why they're there and how they can set things right. There's a lot of humor, heartache, and heat as Reed figures out who his True Mate is and Elise comes to terms with her unusual "blessed witch" powers.
I enjoyed every bit of this story. I love how it fits right in with the rest of the series, even while being completely different. The action is non-stop and I couldn't put this book down until we get our wonderful HEA. A poignant epilogue wraps everything up nicely. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Loved, loved, loved it! It is a bit different from the others. First, we were left with a huge cliffhanger at the end of the last book. So this was long awaited. So much is going on in with this generation of the series. The story was written with amazing talent and from the very first page, you won't want to put it down. There is action, conspiracy, friendship, love, betrayals and suspense. Oh, I can't forget time travel. But it wasn't as focused on the romance between the main characters. This did NOT take away from the story. It was just unexpected. As usual, the New York Clan has some changes coming. The magic is different and the hybrids are involved on a whole new playing field. I'm just hoping they bring their A game. So many questions are answered and so many new ones were asked. I can't wait for the next book. I received an advanced copy of this book. Voluntarily, I am leaving this review.
If you are new to this series, I suggest reading them in order. Each book features a new couple, but there are elements that run through the series. I have greatly enjoyed the True Mates series, each one a special gem. While attending The Ascension dangerous enemies strike, in the aftermath Elise, Julianna and Cross are swept back in time. Lord Reed Townsend, Duke of Huntington reluctantly accepts the strangers who saved his nephew from harm into his family home. Something strange is amiss, though suspicious he can't deny his attraction to Elise. Elise is unsettled by Reed, finding him infuriating yet appealing. How Ms. Montgomery manages to weave together a romance that defies the time continuum is thoroughly entertaining. I couldn't read this story fast enough enjoying the chemistry that fueled Reed and Elise's romance. I look forward to the next book in the series...Julianna is next! My only "problem" it ended too soon.
I really enjoyed this story! It's kinda a historical and I really enjoyed it. It was very well done! I loved the time travel aspect of things and how well it was it done. Julianna, Elise, and Creed are all sent 200 years in the past and they have to figure out how to get back to the future. They are sent back to a time where the right ingredients are there for what sent them to the past the first time. Reed is the one of the keys to them getting back to the future. I loved how the relationship developed between Reed and Elise. We get to see them tip toe around each other and also see them both pull out some claws. I loved when Elise showed her backbone and showed her feisty side. There is plenty of action and intrigue throughout this story as we go follow the 3 from the future on their journey to figure out how to get back to the future. This story was fantastic and I loved getting to know the characters better (Julianna and Creed) and I can't wait to get the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Mid 1800s Reed William Atherton Townsend, is Duke of Huntington and the Alpha of London, England. When his parents had been alive his mom was alpha in Scotland and his dad alpha of London.
Present Time - New York Elise was in New York with her mother the wife of the Alpha of San Francisco for the Ascension ceremony of Lucas to become the alpha of New York. That's when something happened and Elise, Julianna, and Cross all hybrids 1/2 witch 1/2 wolfshiter back in time to England in the mid 1800s OMG what a wild adventure. I love the storyline and can't wait for the next book to come out! This romance is about Elise the end of the book give a hint about the next book Yeah like I said I can't wait. This book is full of action, drama, mystery, betrayal, spice, magic, and so much more. The twist and turns are fantastic as are the characters I could not put it down ! So don't miss this time travel Romance Voluntarily review a copy and I honestly loved it
YES!!! this book definitely has a different feel to others in the series. For starters it's set in London and 1820 😮 I've never really been fussed on books set hundreds of years before today but I'm so invested in this series and I knew that I needed to know what happened next and I wasnt disappointed. This was a great book, I loved Reed and Elise but I felt that they maybe didn't spend so much time together. They spent a lot of the book avoiding each other with a few chaste meetings. That's just how it felt to me. Otherwise I loved the whole plot and I thought it was really imaginative. The meetings that they did have were full of sparks and I loved the reunion, for a second I was worried. Anyway cant wait for julianna. I love a good sneak peek and Alicia Montgomery never disappoints. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book
What a fantastic read. I just LOVE Alicia. I’m not one for historical fiction but I think this book turned me onto it. I loved all the details in this book. Alicia must have done a lot of research for this book because of the time traveling. It is wonderfully written as all her other books. Going back in time and experiencing the differences in well EVERYTHING is always fun to me. I would love to go back in time and experience them myself which is why I love the Renaissance Festival so much lol. The relationships these characters build during this time is both heartwarming and sad. When you read the book, you will understand. I was in tears during some parts of this book, but alas I always am. The ending is so “OMG” I CANNOT wait for the next one and I pray it is Julianna because of how it ended, and I can find out who she ran in to!! Happy Reading
I volunteered to read an advanced review copy of this book and I was not obligated to leave this review
I am not a fan of historical romance, to say the least. BUT I HAVE TO SAY, this book would turn anyone into a lover of all things historical. It would probably have more to do with this being a paranormal romance because everything is better with a wolf or two.
Then again, it could be because this author does such a good job on any book I grab from her.
Elise couldn't have been given a better mate. He is perfect for her and her wolf. And he accepts her, which is most important.
The ending, oh, I feared that one. No need to really, as the ending was PERFECT. I couldn't have written or imagined it better.
Read a book, enjoy, get to know a world you have never seen before. I dare you.

Title: Witch In Time Series: True Mates Generations #4 Release Date: #AlreadyReleased Author: Alicia Montgomery Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Serial: Standalone, No Cliffhanger Genre: #PRN #Alpha #Witch #5Stars🌟⭐🌟🌟🌟 •••••••••••••• 💢I just love this series, actually all of them
🔹️Elise Henney is a Witch who will probably wear gloves forever, because her precious talent she hated so much. Elise came to New York for Lucas Anderson’s Ascension Ceremony. But before she made to the ceremony she was Kidnapped and the adventure begins.
🔹️Reed William Atherton Townsend, Marquess of Wakefield, is a WolfShifter Alpha to be of London. After his explosive marriage he refused to be trapped by a women ever again.
This is Elise Henney's story, but Cross and Julianna come along for the ride.
When the mages attack at Lucas' ascension ceremony, Elise is forced to use her powers and Cross and Julianna get transported back to London in the 1820's.
There they meet Lord Reed Townsend, the Duke and soon to be Alpha of London. The girls get ready for the ton, welcoming then into society and finding a suitable husband, while Cross does recon looking for the dagger the mages are in search of.
Elise were her true mate, but she also knows that he will die in a few days. So she does everything to avoid him. Her powers are still unstable and she can't risk changing the future. What she figures will be a memory to keep forever turns into a different future.
True mates but years apart! Elise isn’t having the best time; a mage attack has accidentally transported her and her friends through time. The only way home is to recreate the magic that bought them there. She didn’t expect Reed, a sexy brooding alpha Lycan and her true mate. But he’s been burned before. No matter how hard he tries, he can’t fight his destiny. With Reed’s presence and trouble following Elise and her friends, it’s difficult not to interfere with history. Will this prove catastrophic when they return to their own time? I loved everything about this book. It’s an addicting, paranormal regency romance that’s explosive, heart stopping and definitely left me wanting more.
As always a great read from the true mates generations. This one is about Elise, the eldest daughter of an Alpha. At the Ascension of the Alpha of New York, a Mage attacks but with Elise's powers u leashed, herself, Julianna and Cross are catapulted back to 1820. A true love across the ages romance as she finds her try mate but they also need to defeat the mages that are in this time. Will Reed, the Duke of Huntington, realise that Elise is his true mate??? Will they get back to their own time????? I am really excited to read Julianna's book and if she finds a mate.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it is a great addition to a fantastic series. It made me feel like I was reading an historical romance at times, which I loved, as that's what originally got me interested in reading romance novels! Sometimes with large series' like this the books can become a bit 'samey' - this is not the case here. This book has a different element to the story arc which still fits the series. It was a great read and I am already looking forward to the next book. If you like alpha shifters I would definitely recommend this series but I'd also recommend starting at the beginning with book 1 !
This book starts as book 3 ends at Lucas' ascension ceremony. This is Elise and Reed's story, but Julianne is hilarious in 1820. She is brash, outspoken and curses at everything. Now she's preparing to be presented at the Ton. Elise hasn't had much of a life after a childhood accident with her powers. She constantly wears gloves and doesn't touch anyone. Reed was betrayed and refuses to trust a woman again. When Elise, Cross, and Julianne go back in time Elise and Reed both fight the mate call for different reasons. This is a terrific book and I highly think you should read it.
Elise, Ju!ianne and Cross are magically transported to England back to the year of 1820. Adjusting to the time period, while trying to locate the dagger that will return them to modern day New York, Elise finds herself attracted to Reed, the Duke of Huntington. Between etiquette and dance lessons being forced on them by Reed's grandmother, in order to ready themselves for the ball to introduce them to eligible true mates, they are preparing the lycans for the mage attack which they know will take place during Reed's ascension ceremony. A wonderful and well written book. I love this series and look forward to the next book.
