Links – sometimes random, many times unplanned, often with far reaching consequences, always shaping our journey from cradle to grave – the stuff of life. Just how do Atta Gatta the child-eating crocodile, Scheherazade the pantomime star and Judy the stammering Goth strategically connect characters across the globe? Enjoy this trilogy of inter-linked short stories that raise questions about the needs and challenges of our contemporary world.

It was an enjoyable exercise to revisit, after many years, the genre of short stories. The fact that these are linked and not disparate tales makes them all the more enticing to this reader. The authors’s lived experiences shine through in all stories, in particular in “Dramatic Links” which gave the reader a humorous insight into the internal machinations of the Wyeway Amateur Dramatic Group. Much bigger global issues are also dealt with sensitively and humorously in all stories. A great read.

Links by Dianne Stadhams

I recently read this collection of inter-linked short stories and freely admit that I had to keep reading, and took every opportunity to finish the stories. I found them very well written and particularly enjoyed the African stories the best but all the others had their own special parts. This collection actually made me think about certain issues in our modern world. I would definitely recommend these short stories.

I really enjoyed these three short stories. The author has created something highly imaginative, inspired by her life experiences, and has used an inspired choice of narrators. A lively prose style, a wide emotional range including some laugh-out-loud moments and intriguing story lines.

Intrigued by the idea of linked events I started this collection of short stories.
With a bold writing style the author led me onwards with speed.
I particularly enjoyed the African set with its twists and turns.
