Damn! am I the only one who’s loving this series to bits? Like enough to list this among my all time favs, bar none. I’ve read more serious, better written ones and many others with more explicit guilty pleasure stuff but this just hits so many of my sweet spots in just the right proportions that I seriously can’t love this any more than I already do.
The balance it’s hitting with the fluffy, wish fulfilment harem/erotica elements and taking itself seriously as a survival series is so spot on. 3 books in and it’s as consistent as ever and getting even better.

Some might find the small unnecessary details and slice of life elements tedious but those are the things that are impressing me the most.
I liked how Bailey was the first to suggest eating the wolfs after the city encounter. If I recall correctly, she was the one most resistant to hunting initially. Little random details like these show just how much they’ve adapted to the changing circumstances.
Similarly the way they went into in-depth drills of how to raid shops was another refreshing thing to see. I can’t recall another survival series where they go to such lengths.
Not having things spelled out for you and letting the readers observe and notice such things through the actions of the characters themselves is always a good indication of quality writing.

I personally enjoy organising things and preparing things in advance so it’s great to see how Tav has a similar mindset in always taking enough precautions for keeping his team ready for anything at the first sign of danger. The slow moments of step by step preparation upto the occasional intense action scenes is just so satisfying. Makes me feel like I’m living a dream strategy game with them.

The ladies are also growing on me a lot with time as they are slowly branching out to their specific fields of expertise. Call me twisted but watching Tav gradually moulding them from silly highschool brats into his badass & sexy soldier entourage is honestly making me develop a new fav guilty pleasure element. I might be enjoying that aspect even more than the erotic stuff.
Seriously please recommend me novels with this element esp. with those that go into such details.

At this point it shouldn’t be a surprise but yeah my Overall score is 9.6/10.
I just hope this maintains a similar quality throughout this entire series.
I’ve also started most of Eric’s other novels but this is definitely my fav so far and by a mile at that.

Overall I like this series, as the serious and competent (yet not OP) male MC is a rarity in this genre. I do find there to be far too much "settlement building" exposition in the books which is a level of detail about jerry-rigging showers, smokers, etc. that I have no interest in reading. If that sort of thing floats your boat you will enjoy this more than I did, but I still found that this book didn't move the plot along.

There were two significant occurrences (no spoilers) in the book. One was followed through to its logical conclusion, but the other was left hanging from the middle of the book, not even at the end. It's obvious the plan is to explore the latter more in a following volume, but a lot of the "filler" could have been excised and that space used to develop this more in this volume and tighten up the story arc. If I have to continually skim past 100+ pages of "how-to" to get to the meat I will not be following this story much longer.

Tav and the Girls Kick Butt

So, book three picks right up where book 2 ended. The story is expanding and a much anticipated showdown with the area biker gang finally takes place.
The story is solid for the most part, I tend to skip over the adult themes, I don’t feel that they add much to the storyline.
Plus, I struggle with four women living together, sharing the same man, and everyone gets along great; truly high fantasy.
The battle scene is well told and each character develops a little more, plus neighbors are discovered. Without Law 3 is fun, fast paced and entertaining.

Becoming a favourite

Post Apocalyptic books are not normally on my list of favourites, but these books are just a lot of fun to read. Survivalist techniques and preparing to defend your home from a bunch of bikers keen to just mess things up and take what they want, was really entertaining. A couple of sex scenes to spice the story up also helped make the book hard to put down. I hope Eric gives us more like this, and to be honest I have really enjoyed all of his books so far.

These are fun books, but I'm hoping to see a bit more from them going forward.

Maybe a bit more character development, maybe a bit more world development, and definitely a lot more show don't tell. I'd rather see how these people are moving through the story through character actions rather than be told about it through dialogue and exposition.

However, enjoying the books so far. Nice easy reads.

Another good read

Another good read by Eric Vail, he keeps the plot moving and continues the character development. Tav, Rolli and the girls draw you in to watch their development over the series. This episode with the culmination of their training and preparation facing down the biker gang. Do yourself a favor and start the series from book one of you haven't done so yet. If you have, enjoy book 3.

Thrilling, pulse pounding action!

Surviving in an EMP apocalypse makes for an interesting challenge. Having to deal with deadbeat anarchist bikers hellbent on seeing the world burn isn't much better.
But Tab and the girls have it under control.

Another brilliant entry in Eric Valls without Law series, with action, adventure and fun.
Plus a whole lot of bullets.

Looking forward to seeing what challenges await next!

A read so good you may need a smoke after!

In so few words Without Law is exquisite! You will be hard pressed to find a more enjoyable or engaging story than what Mr. Vall has created here, the depth of story and characters is amazing, and every entry in the series just gets better!

One of my favorite series

Still such a great series. I wonder where it will go next, now that one major problem has been dealt with, at least for now. My only complaint is that Tav doesn't seem as bad ass in this one as previous one. I think this is because he wants to focus more on the side characters though. 9/10

Fun to read.

Ok the series is very enjoyable to read and I look forward to reading more about Tav and the girls. The characters are starting to grow and develop into strong characters with interesting backstory that continues to enhance the overall story. The pacing of the book was good and the action scenes are fun to read. Overall I enjoyed it.

Great read

Not my typical genre, i typically read fantasy and scifi. I started after reading Planet Broker and Succubus Lord. That being said this is one of my favorite series. It is a well thought out post apocalyptic survival story with a mild harem twist and book three tied up the current story arc very well. Can't wait to see book four

Basically the same book

Had some Hope's, but basically a carbon copy of the other two books. First half build some stuff have sex, then some scouting, then some fighting. Meeting the one group of survivors was fun for the 1 chapter it happened, but besides that the author takes an interesting world and makes it pretty bland.

Great series

More post emp fun. So time to train and explore. The new world is not getting any nicer so the crew must be prepared. The harem elements are typical and fun but not over the top. Can't wait to see how bad it is on the outside when out crew is done with the local elements. Looking forward to More .

Good Read.

Reading through the available series of 1 - 9 one after another in one go. With the read, the character evolve, the area they are at expand and the reason for the “apocalypse” are hinted at bit by bit with some clues. Enjoyed the series and will continue on when new books are available.

Just finished Law 3. Great book, exciting, and kept me reading. And the girls made it fun. But I would have ran away. I am older and have trouble with just one.
Oh yes forget, maybe the publisher should get a better proof reader. Several areas needed to be re-read, I thought you switched to a different language, just simple words I still loved it. Guess I need to start on #4 now

What a great series, it’s so well written that it seems almost real. I really enjoy the relationship between the MC and the women. It’s a great book and I can’t wait for the next one.

A good defense

Book 3 of Without Law states a little slowly, but picks up the pace as it goes along until it is racing to an exciting showdown between the bikers and Tav, Rolly and the ladies.
Fun story with a lot of action.

Training and finally the action!!

More of the same of what we have seen in the first two books. Though this one takes the action to a higher pitch. Still predictable plotline does more harm than good for the rest of the series. Overall better than the first two installments.

Dumb

Especially the last third. I am not a grammar Nazi I don’t care about spelling mistakes or mistakes in grammar as long as you can tell a good story. My problem was Suspension of disbelief can only go so far and there wasn’t enough other distractions to make it work.

Great continuation

Still loving this story. The action was good but I am extremely surprised Vall's editors missed quite a few things. Did not detract from the reading though. Keep up the great work Eric

Packed full of survival and action

The Battle plan Tav thought of was really laid out and flowed easily with the story. Character's written well enough that u could imagine it really happening

Without Law series

Good harem genre book. Our group of survivors continues to improve their camp and start training for a show down with their immediate enemies. Potential allies are also discovered.

Great 3rd book

This book was the best of the series. It had a ton of action along with the right amount of sex. Can now wait for book 4 maybe we will see some three some action 😉

Don't want to give anything away. Let's just say that this book is as good or better than the previous two. Hoping that Eric continues this series.
