Sometimes lightning kills you. Sometimes it gives you superpowers. When lightning strikes Eleanor Spencer, her life changes forever. Plunged into the secretive world of strikers, she discovers she is capable of amplifying other strikers’ supernatural powers. People who dimension shift to alternate realities, manipulate electricity, and read minds are now fact, not fiction. Eleanor becomes a pawn as striker factions vie to possess her ability. She must discover who to trust. Henry Black wants to help her, but her amplification makes his mind reading dangerously uncontrollable. Lightning thrower Archie Walsh offers her a life of luxury for help with a few deadly experiments. The Color of Lightning follows the escalating struggle to gain Eleanor’s ability. A conflict that threatens Eleanor’s life and the striker world. Will others control her forever? Or is she stronger than anyone believes, with a gift greater than any striker imagines?
This is a fun story with an interesting concept. Struck by lightning? You might get super powers. Some can throw bolts of their own, some can read minds, and others can jump dimensions. When it started, I thought it was going to be a bit fluffy or too heavy on the romance, but it quickly spiraled into a great sci fi action tale. The characters are all really well done. There are some great twists, a few gory action scenes, and a fantastic ending. Enjoy!
