While I did enjoy this, Tanner was a bit too TSTL, there was no world-building (is it our world, modern times, ancient times, a different world altogether?), and a noticeable amount of typos.
I did appreciate the simultaneous fuck… I guess that’s an added perk of a Naga boyfriend. 🐍 But at the same time, no tail play?! He’s like 60% tail, that’s a missed opportunity.
So snakes totally scare the bejeebus out of me but I've always been fascinated by stories of the Naga and other paranormal beings. I still don't know if I could ever be near one if they were real without screaming my head off, but it's a good little story. One of those that you should never judge a man by appearance but by the appearance of his heart. And how he treats others. Unfortunately, others were shit to him, except for Tanner. Tanner, who had gotten under Anan's thick skin so quick. Especially when he came back for him. And suddenly life had new meaning.
A very interesting fantasy. I could not pass something with the snake being, such stories are not your usual run of the mill. MC Tanner, feeling a burden to his family after being blinded in an accident, decides to strike on his own and walks out at night from his brother's farm into the forest. It's mentioned that he wanted to be a scholar and needed to go to the city for that, but he had doctor's visits...which makes it hard to figure out the place or century he is living in. When he falls in the forest and injures his ankle, he is rescued by MC Anan, who brings Tanner into his cave and provides care and food. Anan does not like humans who invade his territory but he makes an exception with Tanner. They spend a couple of weeks in the cave, with Anan hunting the food and sharing it with Tanner. Tanner knows that something is different about Anan but could not figure out what's wrong without being able to see. As they spend time together, Tanner starts to have feelings towards enigmatic Anan but is too shy and scared of rejection to pursue anything until Anan catches him pleasuring himself while bathing at the riverbank.
A fainting incident with Tanner forces Anan to bring him back to humans for help, though he is risking exposure and being hunted. Tanner's vision returns after several months and he is told that "monster" was seen close to his unconscious body when he was found by neighbors. He realizes that "monster" was Anan and has to choose whether to keep living with the humans or try finding his way back Anan and love.
I liked this fantasy, though it would have benefited by being a longer story to flesh out characters more.
Well, that was certainly different. I guess this gives new meaning to the adage “love is blind.” I enjoy a good paranormal romance and stories about shifters, but this went in a different direction. Was it even paranormal? I can’t say because there was no world building. It seemed somewhat medieval but they had bathrooms. When Tanner first left home, I thought he wanted to die. Why else would he wander into a forest when he couldn’t see. That fact probably saved his life when he first met Anan. What really made me uncomfortable, however, was that in most paranormal stories, the characters are always in human form for intimacy, while here, they were not. Tanner was, of course, but Anan wasn’t a shifter so he was in his natural reptilian form. Good on Tanner for not letting Anan’s form affect his feelings.
I loved this. It shows how love is truly blind. If Tanner had his sight, it would be fairly safe to say that he wouldn't felt anything for Anan. But since his sight is gone, he doesn't see the outward appearance. He gets to know Anan on a deeper more mental and emotional level. I found this to a truly beautifully written book with great depth. My only issue was that it was too short.

A blind man meets Naga. He doesn't know what his new friend is. He gets to know and develop feelings for him. But, what would happen when his sight gets back???? Good plot and characters. Nice reality. Enjoyable read.

Mmmm...Beautifully curious. Sultry, sexy and sweet. These two protagonists pull you into their world and grip you tight. The elusive Naga and the hapless human. Well, helpless too. But fate is funny that way, ya know? This unusual tale is so lovely. You do 't want to miss it! Loved it...recommend it!😘
I was a little skittish to try a Naga story, but I just fell for the characters and their story. This is just a beautiful love story with a snake-y twist, which would delight both Naga lovers and people like me who didn't think they might fall for that kind of creature. Highly recommanded <3
I really enjoyed this story and how the author wrote the inter-species relationship. Anan remains a mystery throughout most of the story, as dangerously alluring as he is sweet and caring. Loved the bit of forced proximity to help the romance along between him and Tanner.
We really need more books with nagas who are sweet and unique yet they are still monsters. Unfortunately there are not many queer romances out there with them and the hetero romances are mostly just the prime example of a dominating and abusive relationship. Here the romance was so wholesome.
