Intrigued by a small town's name and the reason behind its name, Eve Sawyer, journalism student, stops to find out more. She's then captured by a more recent incident: the disappearance of a young, beautiful woman several years earlier, which prompts Eve decides to write her term paper about this case.
She talks to many townspeople who knew the woman, reviews old newspaper articles, and gets a feel for the situation, putting a number of pieces together to solve the case.
Eve is just so darned nice and enthusiastic, and it's hard not to like her. The case has a lot of emotion tied up with it, and I like how the story worked out.
This was a diverting short mystery, with a likeable main character. The only thing I will say is while listening to this, I kept thinking of the countless, not beautiful, not white women whose disappearances and murders are not terribly well investigated.
