The Mist

Rate this book
What is The Mist? That's a complicated question. If you were to ask someone who knows one they might tell you that Mist is just a pleasant old woman who keeps to herself mostly, enjoys tea, and generally likes being helpful. If you were to ask someone who really did know something and liked you enough to part with the knowledge, they'd tell you that they were a bunch of old women who could change their age at will and talk to each other from anywhere in the world without a cell phone and who also tended to save the world from time to time. If you asked a Mist what a Mist was, they'd laugh at you before sincerely telling you they had no earthly idea and then offer you some more tea.
The thing about Mist is that they don't really want any attention for what they do because too much attention can be a dangerous thing, preferring to be the side supporting character in other peoples stories. But attention sometimes finds them, much to the shock of all the Mist, when one of them ends up murdered. This alone wouldn't be cause for concern normally but when a multidimensional creature called The Nothing stops by to give a Mist a vague warning you better believe it isn't a coincidence. So, quickly a chance event becomes a race against time to figure out who would kill a Mist and why because when The Nothing gives you a warning then it's more than your world at risk, its all of creation.
