As a girl, Hailey was bullied and unpopular. She was rejected and mocked almost by everybody. As time passed, she realized there was another way to go on living. This insight led her to a huge transformation in her life.
Rose Fox was born in Tel Aviv and has lived in an agricultural community for 25 years. She completed her studies in Education and earned her doctorate in California, and worked as a teacher and school counselor for 30 years. She wrote her book after retiring.
Update: I got 50% through and decided to stop. TOO LONG, too disjointed, too many editorial mistakes, started having cursing and sexual storylines. JUST TOO MUCH negative and not enough goodness for me to continue. Let me know if you finish it and if it has a good ending!!
I'm only 18% through this book but it has so many misspelled words and other errors in it, it is distracting me from the story. I wish I could edit as I read it. Please let me proof-read your stories!!
I read the entire book only because there is merit in the story itself. Otherwise, I would have quit a few chapters in. It felt like it was a "Once Upon A Time" story, written by a 5th grader, with the exception of a few adult words and scenarios. I had to roll my eyes at the editing, phrasing, characterization of most of the people; everything and everyone is so simplified it's insulting. Like I said, good story, lot of weeding thru bad bad phrasing and editing.
The author has tackled hard subjects with a believable story line. I always find this author's books amazing, well written and heart touching. This story of a woman named Hailey takes readers into the life of someone who is tormented, bullied and struggling to make sense of it all. The book is a longer read because it begins in Hailey's childhood and follows her through into adulthood as she tries to find her true self.
This book would be an excellent read for young people of high school and college age. So many of them are bullied and ridiculed about the appearance. It is also excellent in pointing out that so often the parents bear responsibly. The book is a bit "Pollyanna" in that losing weight doesn't mean you will become a beautiful swan, a supermodel, become rich, have the opposite sex drooling or gain revenge on an unfaithful, abusive lover or spouse.
I enjoyed reading the story of a child who teased by classmates because she didn't look like them. I liked the story the author spin so that Hailey could become famous and gain self esteem.
Wonderful. It was the story of an extremely heavy girl. What she went through in school etc. i so able to relate to being heavy and to some of what she went through. I felt part of the book. I got angry at her at times. I won’t say anymore you have to read this book
Name calling. Nasty competition. Mother that shows love and affection with what she cooks in the kitchen. Rose Fox brought a story of a baby through adulthood, post divorce. But Rose saved her character by allowing her to eat her emotions with a silver spoon. Rose Fox, please hire an editor! I'm glad our character was successful.
This story would be better off broken down into a series and better fleshed out. Honestly it almost reads like dot points and most of the conversations are practically hateful or naive.
Rose Fox brings her characters to life in the pages and makes you feel you are part of the story. I wept for her pain and celebrated her accomplishments.
A long book but enjoyable read. A young woman trying to find her true self as an adult. Story begins with her childhood....gotta have that background knowledge! I liked it!
