Rate this book

He uncovered clues to the intergalactic childhood she’s forgotten, where smiles calm, touches kill, and they were soulmates. Now, Cole’s power-hungry father has erased her from his mind as punishment, and her past holds the key to restore his memories. But revealing the truth will change her into someone she fears.

Without Cole’s knowledge of their history, Thea has a chance for him to love her as the girl she is now. Omission, however, can tear them apart and destroy the human race.

Thea’s fear morphs to terror when they encounter his father, and she must choose between Cole’s past and her future. In her heart, she knows the answer. Even if her decision may cost her true love, her life, or the world’s fate.

Once again, Carly Marino has captured that teen essence that makes this tale one blisteringly emotional rollercoaster ride from start to finish! Young love, deceit, dark secrets and a fight to save the world Thea has come to embrace, yet the more she fights, the more she seems to lose, unless she finds an inner strength, she will be next.

Memories have been stolen, pasts erased, yet young love seems to bring Cole and Thea back together, but is it Thea he loves or the girl she used to be? Is it possible Cole’s father is behind it all? Good versus evil where lines are blurred, loyalties questioned and the fear of the unknown looms large. Will Thea make the right choices? Will it matter? Who will live and who will die?

Remember those feelings as a teen? The ones that now seemed a little over the top? Carly Marino has captured those feelings and brought them to life. If you think your high school years were tough and angst-filled and you had a lot of hard decisions to make, this fantasy series is going to magnify them all, toss in some incredible twists and then slam it all home!

The older we get, the more we forget what it was like to be a teenager. Well, buckle up and brace yourself. You're about to take a trip into the past, back when high school was the local hangout, friends could turn on you at the drop of a dime, and being cool was the ultimate goal in life. Oh, and hiding from, or hunting down Respares before they drained every human and Inflexaen they can find was a normal day.

Thea, Cole, Wynter, Ethan, Logan, Nora and Drake have come to the realization that the leader of the Respare, and Cole's father, Larc, along with his aunt Rayna needed tt go. Period. No talking, no trying to work it out. They were evil, and there was no changing that. They had to go. And now that we know that Drake has turned, they're very afraid that they've lost a lifelong friend, and brother of Nora, to the dark side. (We learned this in Book 1, Memory Walker.)

But this was a much bigger task than they realized. With Larc having erased Thea from Cole's mind, and with Wynter missing and Drake possibly working against them, Thea, Logan, Nora and Ethan had their work cut out for them. Because Larc was after Thea, and Rayna was after anyone or anything that could sustain her lifeforce.

There is no normal high school life for these kids. Their lives now consist of the hunt and the fight. Thea needs to learn how to step up her game. Logan has promised Cole he'd protect her, and even being the joker he is, he still makes every effort to keep Thea safe. Ethan wants nothing more than to find Wynter. As his memories start to return, he knows he needs to find her fast.

Because I don't do spoilers, I won't say what they actually go through, or with whom. That would spoil all the fun for you. I will say this is an exciting adventure into the YA world I know I left so far behind. The alien twists just give it extra juice to keep it beyond exciting, and the teenage love and angst to keep it real.

Book 2 of this wonderful trilogy kept me spellbound to such an extent that I read it in one day. Lost some sleep, but got it done! And now I'm dying for Book 3!

Very Well Done, Carly! Very Very Well Done! I am enjoying the hell out of this series! And anxious for Book 3!

I received this as an ARC. As always, this review is in my own words and of my own volition.

First things first, I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for a honest review.

Second things second....I was honestly not prepared for this book. I thought I was, but I truly wasn't. I lost count of how many times I had to set this book down and gather my emotions before I was ready to pick it back up again. I was left in tears at one point and I was very thankful I was the only one awake at the time or I am sure I would have been made fun of by those I live with. I have always loved books that draw me in and I become emotional about. Carly has a way of writing books like this for me and Memory Seeker was no different, she seamlessly transports me into her world and makes me want to know more.

Aside from the emotional turmoil I experienced reading this book, thank you for that, I just love the character. Which is probably why such emotional responses are provoked. I am so wrapped up in Thea's story, I relate to her, you know, outside the whole alien thing. I love her. I want all the good things for her and I feel all the horrible things with her. These books have me rethinking my dislike of first person narratives in all honesty.

Reading "The End" at the end of this book was probably the most depressing thing I have read all year. I am ready for more, please tell me there would be more!

It's only been about a month since I read the first book - which I really enjoyed - and still I had some difficulties remembering what happened in the end. This made me struggle a bit in the beginning of this book and I even contemplated that some Inflexaen perhaps had erased some of my memories?! More likely is that I read the former book a little too rapidly for my memories to settle...

I enjoy spending time with Cole, Logan, Nora, and yes, even Thea, although she annoys the hell out of me sometimes! The chemistry between Thea and Cole is very well described, and I feel quite satisfied at the end of the book, as far as where we leave them. Other things are left hanging, though...

To finish this not so neat review (can you even call it a review?), I have to praise Carly Marino for her complex ideas. This thing with Thea/Lyra is mind-boggling to me! Sure, it confused me, but it also made me focus. Can't say I fully understand the whole process anyway, but at least Thea got it eventually!

I received an ARC from the author, but the review is my own doing.

Why won't people talk to each other??? The whole time reading the book I wanted to scream: Talk! Please! Just try to make him/her understand! But there was no talking or explaining and so everything almost went south. And Thea, girl, why are you so mad and refuse to make peace with Lyra? instead she was stubborn as H*** and drove me crazy. After the last word I felt emotionally drained and a puddle on the floor. I love when books can do this to me. It means it was a great story and everybody should read it. Oh...and there is going to be a third book, right? This can't be the end? I want...no I need to have more.

What an exciting second book!!!

This is the second book in the Inflexaen series. The first book,Memory Walker, was awesome but Carly Marino has definitely delivered a winner with this instalment!

There is more adventure, action, romance and of course mystery in this story. It’s thrillingly fast paced that will have you on the edge of your seat to the very end! The characters have a great dynamic going on, they are rich and full and are super fun to read. I love the developing relationship between Thea and Lyra, they seem to finally be working as one to solve and move on from their problems.

This is a great series to read that keeps you interested and will leave you pumped for the next book! It’s a fun, fast read that is made up of a handful of engaging characters and written beautifully.

Wow - so much happens in this one, some good, some bad. Story is steady paced. It did take me a second to gather my thoughts from the first book. Thea is the one with a ton of worries on her shoulders and some conflicts are solved while others pop up. Can't really say too much without giving spoilers.

My favorite part of this series is the plot. I really enjoy the alien angle with the imaginative layers that abound with emotion and intrigue. So, many hidden agendas.

I'm not sure if this is a trilogy -- I do wonder (if so) where book 3 will take us.

LOVED this book, a great continuation from book 1 and concludes just enough to be satisfying but also leaves an entry point for what I assume will be a third installment. The characters are strong but also very real - and Cole is a total hottie. Love that!

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review

This book was not as good as book 1, in my opinion. It lacked the thrill and adventure I experienced when reading book 1.

Throughout the book, I was hoping that Cole to have his memories returned and reunite with

Honestly very few series suprise me when it comes to sequels however Carly shook my world . The characters are so rounded and feel like people you may meet in real life. Not to mention this is not in any way a book I would normally pick up. If you are looking for an adorable romance something that will make you feel every single emotion known to man and truly make you feel part of this world, not to mention an amazing adventure you really need to pick up Memory Seeker for sure going to be on my list of favorite books this year maybe of all time. Totally suck at reviews but i have nothing bad to say about this book.

“True love awakened the parts of us we didn’t know existed or the ones we had lost.”

"Everyone deserves a second chance. We do terrible things all the time, but I believe we can change and make things right. No matter what we've done."

Picks up *right* where Memory Walker left off, thankfully.

The word ‘brilliant’ came to mind over and over again as the book went on. This was a much-anticipated book 2 for me and it did not disappoint. The story stays on the path from book 1 but grows more complex. The feels are real, there’s loads of action, drama, romance, non-romantic true love, pure friendships, valuable life lessons, self-exploration and more.

This book is filled with beautiful moments while keeping to the plot; Marino is a genius who expertly packed in plenty of twists. The relationship between Lyra and Thea is so well executed; along the way there’s some confusion but that’s the point! I promise, it all makes sense in the end.

The book does end in a bit of a cliffhanger, but if you paid attention to the series this far, that shouldn’t come as a surprise. If you let that turn you off, you’re doing yourself an injustice - this series is not to be missed.

Four eagerly-awaiting-more stars!
