Shannon Ansell didn’t mean to make a bet with Brian Knox. It sort of just happened. Now she’s agreed to date him for six weeks, the one man she knows she shouldn’t. Six dates in six weeks. She can do that and still keep her heart intact, right? Wrong. Because the only thing she can’t resist more than a good bet is Brian Knox.

The Witches of Keating Hollow series has been a blast. I’ve been devouring the books off Kindle Unlimited.
I just love the small town of Keating Hollow. It’s a wonderful magical community where everyone knows everyone and what’s going on. Each book in the series brings us a new couple to enjoy as well as new drama and emotional struggles. I just love the light magical feel and the heartfelt romances. This series is full of facing what life throughs at us, healing oneself, finding love and family and friendships.
*****
This was another great read. The emotional drama that happens is well done. This series is full of emotions, drama, and HEA's. The romance is clean and all the sexy times are off the pages. I'm having a blast with this series and all its characters.
Shannon and Brian’s romance is sweet. They have an electrical chemistry, but true love ’s course isn’t always easy; especially when jealous people get in the way. Crazy fake fiancées, paparazzi, and controlling parents. Nothing is going to stop Brian from fighting to earn a chance at Shannon’s love.
At the end it leads us to another witch town called Christmas Grove and this spins us into the Witches of Christmas Grove series. We meet Rex in Power of the Witch, but his story is told in A Witch For Mr. Holiday.
Power of the Witch is the seventh book in the Witches of Keating Hollow, but it can be read on its own. Personally, I recommend reading this spellbinding series in order. I found Power of the Witch to be well-written and it moved at a spirited pace. Power of the Witch is an expressive novel with surprising twists and arousing interludes. Deanna Chase has an engaging writing style that draws the reader into the story. I like that the book did not just focus on the budding romance between Shannon and Brian. Power of the Witch has more depth with the addition of Silas, the Ansell parental units and Brian’s father. There are sweet moments that will touch your heart. I could feel the electric chemistry between Shannon and Brian. They were fighting the attraction because of the silly bet. It is always a pleasure to visit Keating Hollow with its friendly and bewitching residents. I liked the reference to Big Brother. The ending was delightful. The author painted a vivid picture with her words and provided me with a good chuckle. Power of the Witch is an enchanting story with pushy paparazzi, a monster manager, a cunning conniver, and a wicked wager.
Usually I enjoy these books, but this one just kept going around and around, with sudden character changes without reason. It was like a really bad soap opera.
I’ve come to expect a tender romance from this author, and this book didn’t disappoint. Shannon and Brian’s romance was easy, and they seemed like such happy people. But, of course, true love’s course isn’t always easy especially when jealous people get in the way. This author’s writing is wonderful, and I love how with just a few words she can paint such a lovely picture. But I do admit that I don’t like when a few simple words, talking to each other, or just communicating in general would clear up misunderstandings even before they begin. That aside, this was another great addition to a wonderful romance book series. If you love romance, you need to try this series, book, and author. I really do recommend! I received a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
Shannon and Brian finally ... Yes, I've been waiting for this book forever and here it is and YES it was worth the wait.
Keating Hollow is a magical town I love re-visiting time and time again, Deanna Chase writes romance with a dose of magic so well I can never put one of her books down.
Shannon and Brian have been dancing around each other for so long now I did wonder if they would ever get it together...lol what seemed inevitable turned to omg will they ever turned to finally a HEA and yes the journey to get there was challenging but thats what made the story worth the read.
Shannon is strong with a sweet vulnerable side, Brian is someone who puts his heart and soul into something he wants... and omg just a shout of to Silas and Levi I love them both.
A fast and easy read. The characters are well written and Ms Chase has a way of making you care what happens to the folks in her books. Always a few surprises here and there though. Good story. Very "Hallmark Movie" like - but better. I'm ready for the next book in this series.
I won’t lie, I was a bit disappointed in this book of the series. The two love interest characters were just a bit too similar for me. Maybe because I’m more of an “opposites attract” person, but it was too convenient that both of them had high society families that were always in the limelight, and plenty of drama within them too. Maybe I just didn’t realize much about Shannon as a person/character, but I was expecting a heck of a lot more sass and attitude. She has moments where she’s blunt, but other times that she’s downright mousey. Just when I would think that, she’d turn blunt again, yet instead of solving the issue, it only served to highlight the inconsistencies. Overall, the drama was page-turning, and kept you going to see how everything would be resolved. After seeing some of the jaw-dropping drama in previous books, I was honestly expecting a bit more from this. It was also a bit confusing that the final chapter would intro to another series, Witches of Christmas Grove. Heading into the next book in the series, I feel like I’m flying blind. But this far in to it, I can’t give up now.
Deanna Chase takes her readers back to Keating Hollow with her newest book, Power of the Witch. Shannon Ansell and Brian Knox both settled in Keating Hollow because their lives in Southern California brought them so much unhappiness. For Shannon, it’s a connection to her childhood (which she spent in Keating Hollow) and her beloved grandmother (who she lost as a teenager). For Brian, it’s a fresh start after an unhappy relationship and a chance to strike out on his own away from his family’s business empire. Brian would love a chance with Shannon too, but an unhappy ending to their first date makes Shannon hesitant to take a chance on Brian. When Brian gets her to agree to a series of six dates as part of a bet, things start to look promising for a potential relationship. But then Shannon’s superstar brother, Silas, shows up on her doorstep seeking refuge from their controlling mother, who also happens to manage his acting career. Their mother is furious that Silas wants to control his own life and career, and as the siblings try to navigate their family tensions, the paparazzi descend on Keating Hollow. And then Shannon is shocked to find herself in the gossip columns being portrayed as the “other woman” in a love triangle involving Brian and his fiancée. Of course, Brian is shocked too since he didn’t know he had a fiancée! Turns out his father’s friend/business associate’s daughter Cara took the family belief that she and Brian would be a perfect couple a little too far and declared them engaged in an interview. Soon Brian finds himself being threatened with a lawsuit if he doesn’t save Cara from looking foolish. Between crazy fake fiancées, paparazzi, and controlling parents, nothing is going as Brian planned, but he won’t stop fighting to earn a chance at Shannon’s love.
Power of the Witch is another enjoyable addition to the Witches of Keating Hollow series. I liked seeing Brian finally get a chance to be happy after all the heartache he has experienced. Shannon, of course, has made a number of appearances throughout the series and hasn’t always been seen in the best light. I enjoyed getting to see a new side of Shannon and learning about her background. I have a much more sympathetic view of her than I had in the past. Ms. Chase does a great job introducing Shannon’s family. I thought she did a particularly good job with her mother Gigi. I always know an author has done a good job with character development when I have strong emotions regarding a character. I definitely has some emotions towards Gigi! I wanted to step right into the book and scream at her her for being a terrible mother.
Levi, Hope’s brother from the last book, also plays an important role in the book. He is another character who I was thrilled to see get some happiness. Of course, Ms. Chase also sprinkled updates about the Townsend sisters and their spouses throughout the book. I love series for just that reason; I don’t have to say goodbye to characters I love once I finish reading their stories. And the ending to Power of the Witch sets up a whole new series by Ms. Chase, so I’m excited to read the new series and meet another group of witches. I just hope there will be more Witches of Keating Hollow books, too.
I highly recommend Power of the Witch, but readers should definitely read this series in order. I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving an ARC.
Shannon Ansell sat in the shadows at Yvette and Jacob’s wedding reception, trying to stay out of sight. Hope walked over to tease her, however, about the embarrassing bachelorette party the night before. Shannon had been demonstrating a rather explicit act with a “toy” when Brian and Jacob walked in. Since she hadn’t seen them, she proceeded to demonstrate her talent – and then saw her audience! She asked Hope if finding a job in Europe would be far enough away – just as Brian Knox walked up behind her and said it wasn’t and after what he had seen the night before, he would follow her anywhere! He had made a bet with her that they would have six dates in six weeks where, if he lost, he would be her pool boy… in a thong… until the end of October; and if she lost, she would need to pretend to be his fiancée at a family wedding and give him a massage with both of them naked. She still didn’t know why she had agreed! He was a fun date, but any commitment overtures made him run for the hills!
Shannon was about to ask Brian to dance when someone told him a woman was waiting for him. He walked over to the bar, put his arm around the woman, and walked away listening to her whisper in his ear. But when the man who had called to him went over to Shannon to introduce himself, Brian’s possessive thoughts of Shannon made him hold back a groan, especially when Rex Holiday then put his arms around her and pulled her tight against his chest for a slow dance.
With the bet between Shannon and Brian ready to kick off, nothing seems to go smoothly for them. Distractions and constant interference from people keep them off kilter. When Shannon's actor brother, Silas, comes to town to get a break from his manager/mother, he is unfortunately followed by the annoying paparazzi. Their interference at the worst possible time, puts Silas, Brian, and Shannon on the pages of the gossip rags! It just doesn’t seem they are going to find any alone time to work on a relationship. Will they ever get their chance to admit how they feel and maybe move toward becoming a real couple? And how will they respond when Cara and her father use his business project to manipulate Brian into marrying Cara?
This is another wonderful, well-written story that will draw the reader in, with characters who come alive on the pages. The story line moves along briskly, and surprises keep the reader’s full attention! Grab your copy and see if there is a HEA somewhere in their future and what it will take to get them there!
Shannon Ansell has had a crush on Brian Knox for a while, but due to an embarrassing moment, has kept her distance from him. A bet they make guarantees they will be spending time with each other with each having a creative prize at the end if they wind. This book as many cute moments with some enjoyable side stories. I would rate this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. I really love the ‘realness’ of the characters’ lives in this series, but this particular book I had a few things that felt a little disconnected. In prior books, when these characters had cameo appearances, I got the impression of Shannon as a little flighty and an aggressive flirt. I didn’t see anything in this book that indicated that Shannon was desperate for a relationship using her physical assets to pursue someone. Quite frankly I was glad she was not that way, because I didn’t like her very much in the other books but really liked and admired her tenacity and good heart in this one. I was also left with a few questions about Shannon’s parents as well as Cara that were unanswered. They weren’t integral to the story, but my curiosity was still out when I finished the book. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it. The other great thing about this series is that each book stands well on its own, but it is much richer if you read all of the books.
How had Shannon let herself be talked into the bet with the man she least wanted to date--after their last meeting--but that's another story. Now six dates. Six weeks or pay up and we aren't talking money.
They begin and are good together or they would be if others didn't interfere. Her little brother has his own problems. Not to mention the daughter of his father's business partner. Just when things seem to be getting good between them something interferes. Will they believe what they hear? What else will step into their relationship?
Another good story about the citizens of a magic small town filled with witches and powers they use every day as a normal part of their lives. I love the characters, the world-building, and revisiting those friends we've made in stories past.
These two are meant for each other if those who want to control their lives step back and let them. Are they strong enough to take control and believe in each other? Sit back. Put your magic wand down and enjoy. I did.
Shannon Ansell has a big problem. She she has a crush on Brian Knox but just when that first night was going to happen he ran out of the bedroom like he was on fire. She ofcourse was mortified wondering what she did wrong or if she picked another bad guy to break her heart again. Brian knox is taken things slow , he has his own hurts from the past but he wants Shannon now. Can these 2 make it work ? Oh and here is just one more problem. A family friend. He want him to marry his daughter or the deal is off with him and his father for doing business. And the daughter isn't taking no for an answer to. Will they tank Brian and Shannon before they even have a chance? Guess your just going to have to listen to find out! Lol there is a lot more going on in the story but I will get you find that out. The characters are awesome, drama, humor and so much more is fantastic I couldn't stop listening. Its amazing
Book 7 in the series. Each story can be listened as a stand-alone. But you will understand the side character if you listen to the other ones. Deanna wrote a strong story like she did with the other in the series. Lots of levels and twits and turns . You saw Shannon in the first story. As a character Shannon has grown leaps and Bounds The story Centers around Shannon the heroine. Brian is the hero .
Both Shannon and Brian have been dancing around each other for a while. Brian makes a bet with Shannon to get some time with her. 6 dates in 6 weeks. After their first date , Silas throws a twist to Brian’s plan. Silas shows up in town , along with newsmen , and gossip rags. Silas is trying to evade his manager mother. Will Silas destroy Brian’s plans with Shannon .
Gabra Zackman Performance in this story is fantastic. Her voice is strong and steady.
What a great story! Shannon doesn't mean to make a bet with Brian but now that she has...What is she going to so...6 dates in 6 weeks. She doesn't like the man...and now she has to go on 6 dates... But who comes for a visit but Shannon's brother Silas, from LA, trying to get away from his mother/manager...which doesn't go well for Keating Hollow. Paparazzi show up at the worst time and Shannon, Silas and Brian are dragged into gossip rags! What happens to Shannon and Brian's date? Do they have the other 6? What about Silas? Does his mother let him have the break he needs from acting? Who is Cara and what does she have to do with Brian? You must read this book and series...highly recommend
Shannon and Brian, Two people that you know are distend to be together. LOL. That bet is everything. I could not wait to see how this book was going to go. There are some great laughs and some tender moments. You want Shannon and Brian to be together but with everything getting in the way you wonder if it is ever going to happen. Famous little brother does not help matters. Along with some other interfering people, this relationship has everything built in to make it a interesting story to fallow. Keating Hallow and everyone in it is always a nice visit. I always feel at home when reading this series. I am in love with Shannon and Brian and can't wait for everyone to read this book and find out how they end up.
This was another fun Keating Hollow story! Shannon and Brian made a bet at the end of the previous book and now we get to see how it all plays out - 6 dates in 6 weeks. Of course, nothing ever goes smoothly. Shannon's actor brother comes to visit, wanting a break, much to the chagrin of his manager, their mother. Paparazzi come around, and articles are published, causing problems for both Shannon and Brian. Each time they seem like they are getting closer, something gets in the way.
The books in this series are always sweet stories, that leave you feeling happy. Each one also includes characters from the previous books, which is fun to read. This was an enjoyable addition to the series.
Full disclosure, I received the audio version of this book free from the author.
Book 7 in the series, each book is a stand alone novel; therefore, each can be read in any order. However they make more sense read in the order written... this tale is a continuation of the love stories of the resident witches of Keating Hollow...
In this tale, we find Hannah becoming the guardian of her brother who is a teen star from Hollywood... battling her controlling mother ... while juggling falling in love with Brian, who is a Hollywood transplant himself...
Classic boy meets girl, falls in love, then has obstacles pop up to overcome.
Shannon Ansel lives in the home her grandmother had gifted her father in Keating Hollow... far away from the glitz of Hollywood and the social life in LA. Brian Knox had escaped LA to take residence in Keating Hollow for much the same reason and to join his best friend, Jacob, and his daughter Skye. When Brian saw Shannon, he was dumb-struck by her beauty, wit, and straightforward demeanor. Shannon liked what she saw with Brian. One bad date, had her writing him off the potential "boyfriend" list.
Between Brian's crazy family friend, Shannon's crazy mother, and the request from her brother to become his agent, could these two ever leave southern California behind and give love a chance?
This book was fun and easy to read. Brian and Shannon have a very surprising and picturesque relationship. They both play tug of war with each others hearts through out the beginning of their relationship and they both get mixed emotions and take things out of context without even knowing what they’re doing then blowing up with each other just to find out what the truth is and how they feel about each other. It has humor and sadness throughout the story. But the ending is really sweet and lovely.
I’m off to read the next book in this series, will write you in the next review. Bye.
I have to admit that I'm a huge fan of Deanna Chase's work. And the Witches of Keating Hollow series is no exception. I've loved every book in the series. But I have to say that Power of the Witch is my favorite. Honestly, I've probably thought that at the end of every book in the series, but it's really, really true this time. I love Shannon & Brian! Their love story wasn't easy, but it was perfect.
Plus not only do we have Brian and Shannon, when Shannon's brother, Silas, comes to town, we also have a budding teenage romance between him and Levi. Which was written perfectly for two young men who are still teenagers. Hikes, tv, and video games. Nothing serious. Just sweet fun. Perfect.
I stayed up late so I could finish this book because I couldn't put it down! And I can almost guarantee that you won't be able to put it down either.
I do love reading a good romance story with magic involved! Deanna Chase writes and excellent story with twists and humor and the mystery/ romance. Now read this story about Shannon and Brian who have made an unusual bet. There is more at stake than just the bet because Brian is fighting his attraction to Shannon but you know love will win. Now let’s add in Silas who is Shannon’s brother and the fun begins. You have nosy paparazzi and someone causing trouble for the couple. Let’s not forget Cara who has her own brand of trouble and mix well and you will enjoy the antics of all!
This is a great book; this is the seventh book in the Witches of Keating Hollow series written by Deanna Chase. This book can be read as a standalone but if I was you I would just read them in order so you can get the feel of this wonderful series and this great magical town. Shannon didn’t mean to make the bet with Brian at the wedding, it just sort of just happened. She has agreed to go on six dates with him in six weeks, sounds easy right. But nothing is easy for them. They finally get their HEA! I just love this series and can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
Ohh this was a fun book to read. I chucked so much with Brian. That man is something else. This book all starts off with a bet. That bet is spectacular!! I love visiting Keating Hollows and catching up with the gang as well. This book gave me anxiety and was suspenseful for me. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The narrator is fabulous and does a great job narrating the book. I highly recommend picking up both ebook and audiobook.
Who will win the bet? You gotta read to find out!! Trust me, you will want to know who won the bet.
Great build up of anticipation. Not a wham bam thank you mam story. This has a slow build to tasteful passion. I love the series! Character development is awesome and my favorite part is how you meet new people but still get to keep up with the old ones.
My only drawback on this one was that the paparazzi concept was too over the top. Maybe it is like that in the real world but too me it was too unbelievable.
I enjoyed this book a lot. The main couple, Brian and Shannon, were fun. I really loved the relationship that Shannon's brother was building and their mom was great as the evil manager. The story was fairly typical, but had some unique twists which helped me to get more involved in the plot. Great book.
Deanna has done it again, beautiful story pulls you in and leaves you wanting more in the next book. Keating hollow uis a magical place makes you wonder if it really exists. We can only hope. Check out the series and any of her other books for an enchanting read.
I loved Shannon and Brian's story. Shannon has a lot on her plate, but knows what she wants and that the best things in life aren't easy. Brian wants nothing more than to protect Shannon and be the man she deserves. So many heart warming moments as they try to find a way to make their love work. Definitely a book worth reading!
This one is Shannon and Brian. In this one we have the media and a few new side characters. I can't believe that Brian's so called friend would do that. She needs help and then Shannon's mum......talk about being a bitch. This one did have a few good moments like Shannon rebuilding her relationship with her father and brother and how Levi gets a bit more time in this book.
Brian is a great character. He is a devoted godfather and friend. He is charming and funny. Shannon took longer for me to like because she is a bit guarded. I love how protective she is of here little brother. I think she and Brian could manage both in the city but I'm glad they found each other in Keating Hollow.
I'm not a fan of Brian he is just to flirty with all.but I warmed to him a little in this.mind you Shannon was all over the men to in past books. This is book 7 and it's the first book where there is no someone else's kid.last book it was Levi so not a baby but she had to parent him a little.
