I’m going to steal a dead girl’s life.

After all…it isn’t like she needs it anymore.

Hawthorne Academy is my ticket to a second chance, a new start, a clean slate. I’m used to starting over but the New York foster care system has nothing on this place. By the end of my first day at school, I’ve already made enemies with the last people I want pissed off, and they’re going to make sure I pay.

It’s a twisted game they play, but if I want this new life to work out… I won’t just lie down and take it.

Sadie White might be dead, but Teddy Price is very, very much alive. And for the first time in my life, I think I have something worth fighting for.

***

Something’s wrong with the new girl. She isn’t like us. She doesn’t fall into line.

There’s a hierarchy that must be respected, and it’s our job to show her where she stands. Only one thing matters here at Hawthorne Academy, and it’s what we say goes.

We’re Hawthorne’s Holy Trinity: Astor, Blair, and Wills.

Maybe it’s sacrilegious.

Maybe we like it that way.

One thing’s for sure. Sadie White must be taught a hard lesson…but it doesn’t mean we’re not going to enjoy it in the process.

Dirty Liars is a full-length contemporary reverse harem high school bully romance. It is the first book in the Hawthorne Holy Trinity series.

Ah, I really need to stop clicking on things with bestseller tags. Another high school bully romance, this time with a stolen identity, which you’d think would make things more interesting. I didn’t like the MC, yes, she was desperate, but everything was her own choice. The guys aren’t too bad in their temporary guilt phase. The bullying goes down the mean girl route to the point you can tell what is going to happen but does slightly touch the abuse line. So, you’ve got a failure of a social worker, a dead girl with an identity up for grabs, a desperate orphan, a shallow group and a new best friend known to be obsessive with abandonment issues. I am curious about what happens next, but I’ll probably just read a spoiler review.

Stolen identity. Not really my cup tea. Heroine steals another girl’s identity.

Also, I read some chapters and I was unable to connect to the heroine. Her attitude got old, quick. She appeared ‘b***hy’ not strong.

Really unbelievable

There is no way this would ever work I don't care how much she looks like that girl you can't convince me that NO ONE would know I really didn't care for this story line at all

This was a great begging to a new series. I loved the story and how it keeps you guessing. I’m seriously starting to fall for some characters and I can’t wait to see them develop in the next book. Gimme the next one please!

A story about bullies and trickery. This book has ups and downs. Some pranks that are nasty but not too dangerous and hate turned to like turned to hate. Feelings do switch around pretty quickly in this book which is surprising. The MC needs to toughen up in book 2, that’s for sure.

For someone who grew up in the system the FMC has no self-preservation instincts whatsoever. She's gullible as fuck and that pissed me off, I'm not really inclined to continue the series.

So another debut book from a new author in the ever-growing Reverse Harem/Bully genre. And I don't mean that in a bad way, I love that there are more of these books coming out since these are the only books I've been hooked on lately. I have to admit with all the RH/Bully books coming out that this might be along the lines of the other ones that have come out. But alas this one throws a twist into the genre and makes it interesting and a bit different.

Theadora, aka Teddy, aka Sadie is a young girl who hasn't had the greatest upbringing. I take it that she has grown up in the system, though it's not stated if that's true or not, though that's where she's coming from now. Teddy/Sadie, has decided she wants to make a better life for herself and while at a funeral for a school mate she over-hears the girl's former friends talking about the academy the real Sadie was supposed to attend. And since Teddy eerily looks like the deceased girl she decides she's going to take a chance and become the dead girl. For the sake of this review, I'm just going to call her Teddy/Sadie, but I liked her character I thought that she made the best of what she had and definitely stood up for herself.

Ahhhhh Astor, Blair, and Wills your typical A-hole top of the mill, we run this school playboys. Astor made the fact known from the beginning that he didn't like Teddy/Sadie and didn't want her there, just for the fact she stood up to him when he was picking on someone else. We have Wills, who I'm not quite sure about yet, he's the quiet one but definitely knows how to do some underhanded stuff. Than we have Blair, your typical playboy, who is probably the most likable out of the crew.

I think the thing that bugged me the most, ok maybe bugged isn't the word I'm looking for. But as this series is supposed to be Reverse Harem, I'm hoping in this next book that we feel more connections between the boys and Teddy/Sadie. Because as of right now the only connection I'm feeling is Teddy & Blair. Because as of right now I'm not feeling anything with Astor or Wills, and although there were a couple of scenes where both of them kissed her and then we're just supposed to believe that's a connection. I'm just not feeling it yet, she's really not had any time with Astor or Wills.

Other than that I thought this was a good start to the series with a twist. And can't wait to see what happens from here on out.

I'm giving this book 4 Stars out of 5 and can't wait for the next book!!!!

I'm having a really hard time processing this book, for starters i lived the idea of it. I like how Teddy took the identity of a dead girl to attend a rich school to get a future she wouldn't have gotten with her true status/identity. I liked that none of the bullying in this bully romance was too much, none of the male characters overstep in basic human morals even when bullying her. I also like how the three main male characters don't fight or hate on each other in jealousy.

However what i didn't like about this book, was how dumb or just plain naive Teddy was. She really didn't make smart choices and not once did she think " these people keep doing bad shit to me, maybe i shouldn't trust a single thing they say/do" but instead she continued to have them around. I also didn't enjoy it maybe a better word is; understand, the transition scene. From when the boys and Teddy hate each other to the romance part. I'm not sure how or why the switch happens. Just one minute they were mean and the next they all were bff's.

Overall it was a pretty good bully romance book. I wouldn't say it was a favorite but I've read way worse. I think this is a good book to read if you have read all the other high end bully romance books. It's like second tier reading, which is needed when u run out of tier ones.

I don’t like giving low ratings but I really had a lot of problems with the story. Love the idea behind it with the main character stealing the identity of a girl who died. The beginning started out fine, but as the story progressed things became more unbearable. This girl, Teddie, who is suppose to be kinda tough and a little street smart from coming from foster care and a really horrid foster mom ends up being gullible and naive. She get bullied then all of a sudden the 3 guys that were bullying her are her friends but you don’t get the interactions between them how they go from one to the other. There is no flow of time.

The author has done an amazing job with the characters, with three hot guys and and a main character you cant help but love, i couldnt have asked for more...book two cant come out soon enough, definitely worth the read x

I really enjoyed this bully romance. I really liked the complexity that is the main character I enjoyed watching her change to try and fit in. I really liked that she realized what she was becoming and disliked it. I found the hazing to be pretty accurate and well written. That being said it doesn’t mean I enjoyed it or support hazing. There were several times where my jaw dropped and my blood boiled in outrage or shock. I found the foster mother to be a royal pain in my butt and have a strong disliking toward her, I don’t see this going away. Lastly I thought the ending was a great twist. I do have to say with the direction it was going I kind of hoped for a little more mainly for teddy to longer be in foster care if you catch my drift but I’ll settle for what happened. Haha. Lastly I’m interested in seeing how her new life goes and how she redeems herself.

That ending!

I knew it! It had to come out at some point and I had my own theory of how it would come out, never did I think it would happen the way it did!!!

The are so many bully romances out now but the concept of this storyline is unique and I quite thoroughly enjoyed it.

So, YA bully RH slow-burn romance with a slight cliffhanger.

The characters are okay but need a bit more development, which I believe will continue in the next book.

I loved the story. It was definitely a different take on the bully aspect so that was a big plus! Lot's of twists and tension. The only thing I wanted more of was the interactions between them. But that just may be me being greedy because I loved the characters! It's definitely fast paced and from the start I was just sitting there going omg she's not gonna do that! Oh crap she did! Girls got balls! Read it all in one sitting!

Holy fork!!!!!

Twisted. Unbelievable. Broken. Beautiful. There aren’t enough words to describe this storyline. Bully romance. Reverse harem. Sure. But such a unique spin. Poor Teddy. Most of us probably cannot relate to her upbringing. I question why she looks so much like another girl. It can’t just be coincidence right? Not that similar that she could pass for her? Any who! Incredible story! Incredible characters! Dynamite book.

Probably the most cliche-but-also-unbelievable story you can get. I looked past the way the identity was stolen, and how easy this girl threw away her previous life. But what I can’t get past is the standard handsome, Greek God of a seventeen-year-old and his cliche dialogue, appearance, attitude and actions. I’ve read this book before, but few were just as horribly stupid.
Tack on the ‘bunny’ nickname and you get a wonder piece of a time waster.

I LOVED it, I can’t say it didn’t make my blood boil a few times lol but the ending absolutely broke my heart, like HOW. I know this is going to be a interesting series and I can’t wait to see what the characters do to come back from this, this ISNT a normal bully romance. It has bullying tho. Good read!

Author did such a great job with this one. With how popular bully romance currenty are, this author made this book a unique one. She managed to incorporate 3 hot guys, a h that you can't help but want to root for the entire book. So different from the standard repeat plots, with twist, angst and an ending that leaves you yearning for the second book in the series.

Great storyline!

I would say It's definitely a YA reverse harem book, as there's just a few kisses here and there. I think it suits this book, as there's more focus on the story rather than romance and raunchy scenes. The bullying isn't too much either, some what typical high school antics. Looking forward to the 2nd book and seeing if "Sadie" can redeem herself.

I really enjoyed this book. It is a great start to the series! Teddy’s plan totally backfired and cost her, her guys in the end. I am really rooting for them to find a way back together. The guys fit her in different ways and She deserves a little bit of happiness in her life even if her guys are a bit messed up.

great start to the series!

I can’t wait to see what happens next! Teddy sure has lived a life for a seventeen year old foster child. I wish this could be said to be exaggerated, but unfortunately many foster children have similar foster experiences or worse. Can’t wait to see what she does in the next book!

Its good!

I jumped into this story without any forethought of what I would be reading. I'm not big into the bully romances but I gave this a shot and it was amazing! I was so scared for Teddy that she would be found out! I'm excited for the next installment!

Well done!

This is a great story that, despite the theme, keeps you guessing along the way. I love that the FMC is strong and feisty, while still definitely behaving like a young, inexperienced girl. I can't wait for the next one!

Good storyline

Several grammar mistakes, but not so bad that it hurts the flow. Good plot. I liked the twists but some of it felt a little unbelievable. Didn't get alot of background on the characters

I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters and how they came together. I can't wait to see what will happen next for Teddy since she will be able to stay at the Academy. I am sure everything will work out ok with the guys.
