After a harrowing battle to save the world, humanity only wants peace. Demons don’t know the meaning of peace.
Sara’s transition into the Council of Light ensured their victory against Zar’Asur, but she still has a lot to learn about the Council and their eternal enemies. She splits her time between training for her new role as Sentinel and building a home for the survivors suddenly flocking to her farm. Even her short exposure to the demonic armies leaves her worried about their next move.
Sara isn’t the only one forced to adjust to change. Darian finds himself struggling to let go of his leadership over the scouts he’s recruited and trained over the centuries. But his new commitment to the Watcher and Sentinel bond leaves him no choice, and he must focus on changing his fighting style to compliment Sara’s, not hinder it. Darian knows the demons will retaliate, and he and Sara will need every advantage they can get to protect humanity again.
The Council of Light isn’t prepared for the demons’ response: the emergence of the Overlords’ master. Darian and Sara are pushed to the extreme as they try to contain the demon master’s evil. This time, the price of victory is more than they can bear. Will the Council sacrifice everything to save humanity, or will they refuse to give up those they love?
Find out in the next installment of The Watcher and the Sentinel.

I love to read almost any genre. While the most popular authors continue to thoroughly entertain us, I've found some of my favorite series have come from new authors. My all-time favorite has to be Ben Hale's, Chronicles of Lumineia, along with all the side stories that go with it. A very close second is Michael Manning's, Mageborn Series. I've found several gems within some of the Anthologies I've purchased. One of these introduced me to Michael Ploof's, Whill of Agora Series, which kept me reading for weeks.
Of course, I'll always enjoy one of Robert Jordan's new releases or a re-read of Elizabeth Peter's, Amelia Peabody Series. But it thrills my reading soul to find a new and interesting twist, such as Kel Kade's, King's Dark Tidings or Donna Augustine's, Karma Series.

Another great book; the best one so far. This author keeps going from strength to strength and she doesn’t shy away from killing off much loved characters when the story needs it. I couldn’t put this book down. Luckily I enjoy my job or I would not have got off the train to go to work. I almost read this cover to cover in one day.
If you have liked other books by this author you will love this one, thought I warn you it is very sad in places. If you haven’t read this author yet, I highly recommend her. Start at the beginning with the first book of the first series and you won’t want to stop.

Lessons learnt?

I suppose you're wondering why I gave this story that Heading? Easy! Sara, Darian, and the rest of the warriors---that includes the Overlords---had to learn the hard way the importance of keeping the world on an even keel. So sad that most of the warriors had to die to achieve this.
Of course, we know the battles between them will never end. I hope there is a longer lapse between them so Darian and Sara can become a proper family; maybe they will have children? Looking forward to discovering what secrets await us in the next episode.
