Het nieuwe avontuur met Max, Hugo, Eend, Pip, Bibi en Sven is weer hilarisch. Deze keer doet Max er alles aan om de hoofdrol in de film over Kapitein Krachtpats te krijgen. Dit gaat natuurlijk niet zonder slag of stoot… Wanneer hij er van overtuigd is dat hij de rol te pakken heeft, blijkt het weer heel anders te zitten.
Max een superheld zijn. Hij wordt Donderflats met een (geleend) kostuum van de filmset. Samen met Hugo en Sven laat hij de mensen in Roestheuvel zien dat Max een echte superheld is.
Dit avontuur van Max is ook weer grappig en tegelijkertijd leerzaam. Het is vooral Bibi die overal commentaar op heeft en eigenlijk heeft ze ook wel vaak gelijk. Max wil dat niet toegeven natuurlijk. Naast het superhelden gedoe, wordt ook nog de winkel van de ouders van Hugo beroofd. Bibi stort zich op het vinden van de dief.
Ik heb weer met veel plezier dit boek gelezen. Dit deel is prima los te lezen, maar als je alle personages goed wilt leren kennen, is het toch wel leuker om alle delen te lezen.

Max is a HUGE fan of the comic superhero Captain Kickbutt. Everyone is super excited about a Captain KickbuttFunny Kid (6) Funny Kid Kicks Butt Book Review Cover movie being filmed, right in their small town – but no-one more than Max. He believes he is destined for greatness, the big screen and fame! HE and only he can do the part of Captain Kickbutt the justice it deserves.
There is one slight glitch in his plan. The director has already cast Captain Kickbutt. Child star Spencer Daniels (aka Famous Kid) has got the part, but that’s not going to stop Max. He grabs any chance he can get to prove to the director he’s a much better fit.
In the meantime, Max’s mates are star struck by either Spencer or his entourage – Where is the loyalty? asks Max.
Still, he won’t give up. Captain Kickbutt is supposed to be funny like the comics, and everyone knows HE is Funny Kid. He sets up a brilliant prank at school (when assembly gets boring), becomes an alternate superhero (Thunderbutt), and shows Spencer Daniels and all of his fans, just who is the real superhero in their town.
FUNNY! and clever too, this episode of Funny Kid was one of my favourites yet. Movie star hopes, cool pranks, a jewellery robbery, and superhero action…without the flying…or any actual superpowers. Hilarious.

This is a hilarious book. It is about a boy called Max who wants to be in the movie Captain Kickbutt. His best friend Hugo's shop has also been robbed. Are the two things connected?
