I've been self-employed for three years now and it's been pretty successful, but The Freelance Bible contains some of the best advice and support that I've read. Partly it's validation - that so many of the ups and downs Ali describes are perfectly normal, but the trail insight is the different between being 'I' shaped and 'T' shaped. for years I'd worried that I didn't have a 'label' or skills in depth - while simultaneously describing myself as a connector and a translator - but it had never occurred to me that that was my strength. Worth the cover price for that observation alone. Aside from that The Freelance Bible is well-written, accessible and encouraging. The observations are pertinent and helpful. If you are a solo operator, and lets face it, due to the Coronavirus many more of us will be, this is a must-read.
Helpful but more about marketing than the nuts and bolts of freelancing, nothing on freelancers rights, etc. But undoubtedly useful for many starting out.
I would have given it less but just because there was no new information for me here, but it wasnt badly written or anything so i guess 3 stars are fair
