(An MM Shifter Mpreg Romance.)

Pike

Five years ago, I walked out on the only person who’d ever truly mattered to me and I’ve regretted it every day since. Phoenix had been my everything, but I did what I had to do to keep him safe. I only hope that one day, he has it in his heart to forgive me…

Until he shows up in Greymercy, that is. He hates me, and I can’t say I blame him.

I kind of hate me, too.

Phoenix

Down on my luck and fighting the siren’s call of my heat, Pike Harmon is the last person I want to see—but my inner-coyote has plans for him.

One tremendously stupid idea later, I’m not only homeless but now I’m also knocked up. Pike insists on taking care of us until the baby’s born, even if I’m not so keen on sharing a house with my ex-mate.

But despite my venomous words, he refuses to give up on me—on us—and I begin to have hope again.

The question is, can I forgive him?

Chasing Phoenix is a 35,000 word shifter Mpreg with no cliffhangers or cheating. Every book in the Shifters of Greymercy series stands alone and comes with a guaranteed HEA.

The author totally took think up and emotional notch with this third book of the series! Was so happy that Pike was gonna get his HEA in this book, but who would have guessed that he and Phoenix would make this my favorite book so far! I just adore these two soooo much! I can't wait for the next book in the series!

Chasing Phoenix Is the third book in the Shifters of Greymercy series by Kiska Gray. It is a second chance romance with an surprise mpreg. Pike and Phoenix use to be mates, untilPike bailed and left his omega alone. When they are reunited, hate isnt the only feeling between them though... there is also lust. This story has heat, little sweet, some past issues to get over and a future to decide on. I love Pike and Phoenix together - definitely entertaining. Great addition to series.

I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.

Wow! I wasn't sure I was going to care about Pike after the first story, but this really makes me glad he found his mate. Phoenix and Pike are a wonderful couple and I really hope their future stays as bright, or better.

3,5*

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-
Away-book like
‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd,
‘Save the kids' series from EM Leya,
‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or
'Liberty' from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a
WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises
(like most of Andrew Grey books and
Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few
times a year (most romances where you can
enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader,
maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-
reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but
it was ok). It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too
many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an
absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole
line, dismissed, repeat the class

You lost him once. Can finding him mean a second chance?

What a stunning addition to the Shifters of Greymercy series. Old friends welcomed me back. This story has it all: great characters, lost opportunities, anger, an abusive relationship, hard times, regrets, second chances, and undying loves. I read this in one sitting.
Pike has always loved Phoenix. Leaving him alone was the hardest thing he had to do, after his father threatened and beat him. Greymercy has become his haven. When he finds Phoenix, homeless, jobless, and near his heat, all his feelings come surging. Phoenix has escaped from an abusive relationship. Finding Pike wasn't on his list. But his hatred of Pike is warring with the love that has never gone away. Will they forgive each other and try again?
Yes, HEA is assured. The road isn't smooth. But fears will be laid to rest. And new life will flourish. You will love this book! I recommend reading the first two books in the series. You will be glad you did.
Trigger: this book deals with abortion and past abuse. Both topics are treated with respect. I was not offended.
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.

Pros: I liked how the story played off of what women tend to face when it concerns whether or not to have children. It explored the whole "my identity/autonomy is more than my ability to carry/birth a child". It was interesting seeing this in an MM M-Preg setting. For the most part I think it worked.

Cons: The omega MC, Phoenix, has issues with his heat cycle. If you are familiar with M-Preg stories then that will make sense to you. The issue of him not wanting children was kind pushed away, because almost immediately after meeting Pike again (after sometime, mind you) they end up having sex and SURPRISE he gets pregnant. Then, there was the whole issue of should Phoenix let Pike back into his life, be responsible for the baby, be a father, etc. So, it felt far too formulaic and lost the unique aspect it first had.

This is a totally honest review for the ARC that was sent to me.

The base story line would have been a good one, and from the blurb was definitely something I would normally enjoy reading. I felt for Phoenix and the mental angst he was going through. One of the big turns offs was that I did not feel the traumatic demons of Phoenix's past were appropriately dealt with; it seemed no closure was provided and left me wondering if these issues will continue to plague into the future. The ending also felt kind of rushed to me. After the angst of the story, it was quickly wrapped up but with loose ends.

*Now this could be a spoiler here*

There is a potential hot-button controversial topic addressed in the book which some readers may or may not find appealing. All will depend on the readers POV.

Phoenix and Pike were each other’s first love yet things weren’t meant to be. Six years later their paths cross again but the pain of being left behind and the tough choices that followed can’t be pushed aside. Can Phoenix forgive Pike?

My heart broke for Phoenix; the sadness he carried in his heart echoed with an intensity that left me feeling numb.

Pike made mistakes and he owned up to it. His heart ached every time he looked at Phoenix and the damaged his leaving caused.

Pike and Phoenix had a wonderful connection. I enjoyed their sweet moments where they both got lost in each other.

This is a sweet second chances romance. I loved the intensity of everything Phoenix and Pike felt for each other, be it resentment, guilt or love. It was hard at times to see how much hurt they could cause to one another because trust, once lost, was difficult to rebuild.
Chasing Phoenix has is an captivating story and I was easily absorbed in Phoenix and Pike's strong emotions, rooting for their happy ending.
I really recommend it.

This is a sweet, cute and emotional story with great characters. Pike and Phoenix have been apart for six years but neither of them has moved on. Both of them made mistakes in the past but they can start over if only Phoenix can forgive Pike for leaving him. They have a bit of a bumpy ride ahead of them but it will be worth it in the end. I like the secondary characters and the ending is good.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

A great second chance romance. Pike and Phoenix have always known they were mates but Pike was forced to leave Phoenix. Years later Phoenix finds himself home and running to Pike for help. They are truly meant to be together but the past is very difficult to overcome. Pike and Phoenix's connection is very strong and I'm so glad that Pike was able to own up to his mistakes but will it be enough to mend Phoenix's broken heart. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
