Heartbreak: (noun) 1. Intense and overwhelming grief, especially through disappointment in love. No one knows better than Kennedi Westbrook, that no amount of money, material possession, or success can protect one from the torment of a broken heart. She has always been haunted by the grief, disappointment and pain, forced upon her by those who should have loved her most; and sadly the two people closest to her have been added to her list of adversaries. Now, with her heart exposed and mental stability tested, will love be enough to save her sanity and relationships? Life is not playing out the way Sydney had imagined. The chaos in Mitchell’s life, along with their new additions is not enough to win his heart. Still, she is not willing to give up her dreams of a two parent home for their babies, nor Mitchell’s love. Armed with a bag of treacherous tricks, Sydney might have the remedy to ensure she and her children will have the life she wants... or not. What are the rules when the ones you are loyal to are no longer loyal to each other? Should you save yourself from your past, or your friend from her future? If Kayla, had known the answers to these questions, she would have saved herself some grief. But who knows, maybe… just maybe… what she is feeling is not regret, rather excitement. On the Inside Wanting Out proves there is a dark side of love that does not discriminate. In the closest bonds, every man is still out for themselves. And even when hope is destroyed, trust is ruined, faith is tested and alliances are broken, what is meant to be will be….
Listen...Lakaii.....this book right here!!! Kept me on the edge of my seat nonstop. I can honestly say I wasn’t ready for the page to turn and it be the end. I’m ready for the epilogue...part 3???? Please and thank you. I need some more Tia with her shady a$$ lol...Sydney is a mess on her own but the moment Tia gets done dragging her mental I am in disbelief. Truly has one thinking what about your friends....literally.
Of a five car pile up on the expressway is never going to be pretty! But after finishing this book I have more questions than answers avd no closure! I guess the real ending is left to the reader's interpretation. And while I was highly entertained by this new to me author...I can't help but feel that she didn't quite pull off the story she set out to execute. Even though there's a book 3, it features new characters and can be read as a standalone. But I believe there was still more story to tell here before moving on!. 3.5 stars for this book and the series overall. I would definitely be willing to read more of this author's work to witness her growth and development because this was quite the ride!
OMG!! (On The Inside Wanting Out) This book is a must read for everyone!!! The way she writes makes me feel as if I'm in the room watching it all unfold. I felt like I could see each character and feel their pain as well. It also shows different perspectives of how women view one another. When drama did occur my heart was literally beating out of my chest. I believe that everyone can learn or relate somehow to this book. It even got my husband hooked. This book is so good!!! I want it to become a flim!! I will be reading more from Lakaii. Great Job!!
I can’t wait to read book 3 even though this book was good it was sad to see all the relationships end, because it was a lot of mess going on in his book and I’m too through with Eric. He need his butt kicked🥊 the way he did Kayla well I’m hoping in book 3. Kayla ends up with Chris. I’m just hoping.🤷🏽♀️ if you’re reading this review, this book is worth getting.Lakaii keep these good books coming your books are so juicy with drama I love it.
Book 2 did not disappoint. This story is drama full and emotional. The love in here had no loyalty and betrayal turns a blind eye. It’s juicy with emotional twists that kept me turning the pages. Powerful storytelling and the narration was a stellar performance that made the heart and heat come alive.
So many lessons to learn and reflect on in this one. As Kennedi tries to forgive and move on we are left wondering is it better to stay or go? Who is the winner? The wife that stays with the cheating fool or the mistress who gets him if she leaves? Such a good series!
