If hate is a game, this special ops man and ATF agent are out for blood. Or maybe they’re just fighting to see who will be on TOP.
Special Ops Sergeant Lincoln Reed, aka Linc, doesn’t want to talk about how small, dark places make him want to blow shit up. He wants to forget about that time of his life and get back to his team. But now he’s trapped in an elevator with the annoying—and strangely pretty—ATF agent he’s spent weeks trying to get off his back. She’s a know-it-all on a power trip… and has he mentioned she’s pretty?
One minute Nealy finds herself in a defunct elevator with a volatile special ops man and the next she’s in his arms… with her naked thighs wrapped around him. Now she’s forced to work even closer with him and the Ranger Ops team. She can’t think of anything worse than a bunch of chest-thumping gun-toting tough guys taking credit for her bringing down the biggest illegal weapons smuggler the US has seen in decades.
As their investigation takes them through two states and across the Mexican border, Linc and Nealy are forced into an even tighter situation and have no choice but to see it through till the end. But she’s still a know-it-all, even if she can kiss the lips right off him. And she could do without the soft spot growing inside her for the man who’s all mouth and muscles. Can she close the door on this case and keep her heart intact?
I loved this story! I couldn’t put it down. I was rooting for Linc from the beginning. I loved the interactions between Nealy and Linc.
Linc is capture and held by the group that his team is taking down. When he is rescued, he is flown to a hospital in the DC area. Nealy is working for ATF and is assigned a case that will involve his team. They didn’t get off on the right foot. Over time, they get closer. Will they be able to solve the case together?

I have loved all of the books in this series, but I'm not sure how I feel about Point Blank Range. Lincoln was great. I cried for him in the beginning and loved his alpha persona as a Special Ops Ranger. I also understand Nealy's character in trying to make it in a man's world and wanted so much for her to succeed. My problem was with Nealy being so cold and OCD while Linc was recovering and then going from zero to 60 in the sex and instalove. The story drags you in and keeps your interest with the non-stop action so the instalove is acceptable. I just wish Nealy's character wasn't such a drastic change.

Oil and Water, that's what Lincoln and Nealy are to each other, but boy oh boy, that elevator scene was hot! Loved the bowling scene between the guys as well, the ladies had pretzels to watch! Great suspense and a great story.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Em Petrova is one of my favorite authors. I know when I see her name on the cover of a book I will get a fantastic story. This one is great story, it is well written. It is worth your time and effort. I don't do spoilers so get the book and see for yourselves how good it is. It is a great story!!!!!
I don’t intend to sound mean, but this book? It was utter wank as far as I’m concerned.
I’ll be honest, the first 40-50% wasn’t so bad. It was nothing to rave about certainly, but I also couldn’t claim it was terrible. After that point however? Well that’s a completely different story. Y’know, this book just felt so...empty, like it amounted to nothing. There was absolutely no emotion behind anything. I think authors need to understand that just because they make a character say “I love you” does not translate into them actually showing emotion. In fact, I’d prefer no proclamation of love at all over the empty shit we got here. Your characters can say and do whatever they bloody well please, but you can’t expect me to believe any of it if it’s not backed up with anything. There was no substance.
This book could have done something. We could have dug into Nealy and her workplace struggles. Or we could have explored Linc’s trauma and his injuries. Or simply just the case they were on. But no, all we got shagging and hollow proposals. I’m perfectly happy with books just about sex, but hell, even that wasn’t up to standard. After the first couple of times, it just became so boring. The same old rinse and repeat.
The line for me was drawn when Linc lied to Nealy and put her job in jeopardy for the sake of “protecting” her even though it’s her literal job, she’s fully qualified. She showed anger at first but after seeing him for two seconds, all was seemingly forgotten. I wanted to see rage. I wanted to see consequences for his actions. What did we get instead? More boring shagging. Ugh.
Idk, there’s a lot more I could say about this one but for the sake of my health, I won’t bother, just like I shouldn’t have bothered with this book.

This is steaming hot, thrilling and romantic. Linc and Nealy meet when she is sent to interview him about the details of his captivity after he escapes from the people of Operation X and then gets rescued by his Ranger Ops team. Nealy's determined to get him to remember everything that happened, even though he keeps telling her that he can't. After he's released from the hospital and reports for his next assignment he finds that it's to be a joint effort with the ATF, and that Nealy is the ATF agent he'll be working with. Their bickering turns out to be foreplay, and as soon as they're stuck on an elevator they have sex. But they still hate each other, until Linc has a bad period and calls Nealy. Linc turns all macho, arrogant man when it's time for Nealy to accompany Ranger Ops on it's mission, and risks her job by treating her like a woman, instead of an agent. A few twists to the story are shocking and sweet. This book had more sexy times than other Ops books did, but it still has an intriguing storyline. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
The story of Linc Read (a Ranger Op) and Nealy Alexander (an ATF Agent). Nealy is assigned to Linc to see if he can shed any clues to help them find gun smugglers who are getting illegal guns into the USA. From their first meeting they are like oil and water. Linc was injured on a mission and is now in hospital trying to heal. Nealy is there every day asking him questions and he is fed up with her. This is a raw and readable book from page one. The heat level is off the charts between these two. It is an irresistibly hot romance that stays with you long after you finish it. It is part three of a great series of books with a delightful combination of characters. Cover to cover a really great read. Highly recommend it. This book has it all - action, alpha man, suspense, drama, lots of sex, chemistry, emotion and a kick-ass female to boot! Hope you enjoy.
This is the third story in the Ranger Ops series by Em Petrova. You don't have to read the first two stories in the series to understand this story, but being that the characters are all in each other's stories and gives a little bit more background into their group, it would be better. Trust me, it would really be worth the time. Em Petrova always writes fantastic stories with rich story lines and in depth characters. Once you read one of her books, you start to feel like you personally know these characters.
Nealy has worked hard for the AFT, especially since she is a female - she has to work twice as hard. She is up for a possible promotion, the other guy doesn't have as much experience as she does so she thinks it's a shoe in. When the guy gets the promotion, she is given a huge operation. She is to work with a special team from Homeland Security to bring down this huge drug smuggling, arms smuggling group. It just so happens that this group had kidnapped one of the special ops members and he is now in a special burn hospital right here in town. She goes there every day to interview him. She knows that if you ask the same question, keeping the occurrence fresh in one's mind, you may remember something that you forgot before. She has to solve this huge case, then there should be no reason she shouldn't get the promotion that she rightfully deserved in the first place. She just doesn't know that there is someone in high places that is trying to shoot her career down.
Special Ops Sergeant Lincoln Reed, aka Linc, was kidnapped by the group that has been smuggling millions of guns and rifles into the US for many years. He finally figured it out, it was in the shipments with pigs. The weapons are in the bottom of the pig cages, in the 'mud' where nobody wants to search. He was beaten, questioned and then put in a 8x8 metal cage with no windows or bars. When the send in a box for a latrine, they didn't know that it had baking supplies in it. Good thing that Linc is a bomb expert and he creates a bomb to get out. Unfortunately, he gets badly burned in the process, but he escaped. Now in a special burn hospital for the military in DC, this ATF agent shows up every day, right when he is trying to get some sleep, and asks the same question, day after day, for five weeks. She always wears black dress pants, a white to light grey button up dress shirt and no make-up. She is kind of plain, but she has freckles. That is his secret passion - freckles. But she has gotten on his last nerves for asking the same question every day and he is getting really mad. When he finally has enough strength to stand up, he rushes her, also trying to scare her off with the damage done to his legs. She doesn't scare off. When he finally gets released from the hospital, she is showing up as he is leaving and they are in the elevator together, when it malfunctions. They both have issues with small confined spaces so to take their mind off it, they turn to each other in passion. They get dressed just as the doors open.
She knew that she was going to be working with Linc's group to take down the smugglers, but she didn't expect him to overly protect her to the point of not letting her do her job. When things don't go well with the intel that ATF gives them, they start to realize that something is up. Every op gets more dangerous to everyone and they need to figure out who is behind the false intel along with who is trying to kill the whole team.

I just loved this series. It is wonderful to see such big, strong alpha males falling hard for their women. Linc (Lincoln) meets Nealy as he is recovering from his injuries that he sustained while he was captured, tortured and the bomb he made to escape burning him severely. Nealy works for the ATF and she is looking to get information from Linc on his captures. Taking them down will be a major plus in the eyes of her director.
As Linc and Nealy battle to bring in Operation X and bring them to justice for smuggling guns into the country and the torturing of Linc, they come together as a couple. Linc has to overcome his protective nature of Nealy and she has to deal with her frustrations on being kept out of the operations. As they repeatedly get out foxed by the enemy at every turn, Nealy figures out what is really going on, Linc has to protect the woman he loves.
The chemistry between these two in explosive to say the least. The plot is one that will keep you guessing as to what is going on. This is a book that just flows right from the beginning and kept me glued to my e-reader.
Having a dual POV format was really great here. To have a glimpse into the characters' thoughts really helped to bring them to life. It was also nice to see the prior female protagonists from the first two books appearing here.
This is a book that I recommend to anyone over the age of 18. There also are events that could be trigger for violence in this book. I look forward to more of the Ranger Ops team!
Point Blank Range is the third book in the Ranger Ops series, but reads well as a stand alone. Nealy is up for a promotion, and her current mission is trying to get a weapons smuggler under control, but she needs help. Linc was taken as a prisoner with the weapons smuggler group, but doesn’t have any helpful information for Nealy. What starts as mutual dislike quickly turns into passion and romance between Nealy and Linc, but will they be able to close the case and keep each other safe?
Phew, this book is full of passion, danger, intrigue, healing, brotherhood, and a faith in those around you. Nealy and Linc have a lot to overcome in this story, including an animosity towards each other! Nealy is tenacious, trusts in the system around her, hates being overlooked due to being a female, but is amazingly strong, capable, and passionate! I loved watching her be so powerful in her career, but did not like some of her anger issues. Linc had something horrible happen to him, but I loved that he was still just as strong, full of good cheer, and wanting to go back to fighting with a vengeance. I liked that he tried to be realistic with himself about his relationship with Nealy, and I liked how he learned to live in the moments and find happiness when he could. They were definitely an interesting couple and I loved that their anger lead straight to passion! There’s a lot of action in this book that kept me turning pages and wanting to see what would happen to this couple and team next! I really enjoyed reading this book and am excited to see what might come next with this series!
Point Blank Range is another fabulous addition to the Ranger Ops series and has all the aspects we’ve come to expect from an Em Petrova story; action, danger, drama and a sassy woman, as who else would be able to handle one of these overbearing, opinionated, alpha heroes! I thoroughly enjoyed Linc and Nealy’s story and the background of angst and frustration, that turned into a combustible passion that neither party could fight or deny. Naturally, the inclusion of a dangerous mission or two, and the support cast of Ranger Ops, Knight Ops and Team Rou could only make the story even better.
However, a first for me was one glaring negative; Linc’s miraculous recovery from not only his days of tortured, but his extensive burns incurred during his escape on his previous mission. The type of burns described, would not have allowed Linc back into the field a mere month later, for fear of infection or further damage to his fragile skin. But if you can put that aside, the storyline and plot were exciting, and the relationship between Linc and Nealy wasn’t dragged out and frustrating like some enemies to lovers can often be. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next Ranger Ops saga to unfold!
A guy, a gal, and an elevator make for one HOT story!
After knowing each other - but not on favorable terms - for over a month, Linc and Nealy have a crisis-fueled moment of weakness that allows their bodies to say what their hearts can't put into words. And later, after that one mission, when Linc tells her to get in his car - and why -- whew!! Mama needs a cold shower!!
Linc is a perfectly domineering yet egalitarian, panty-soaking sheet-clenching hot, devoted-to-his-momma alpha warrior, and Nealy is one tough chick who can more than hold her own with the team. Their romance may be sexually charged, but that doesn't keep their hearts from connecting on a much deeper level. Working together, figuring out the hidden threat, knitting their lives together on their down time, it all brilliantly paints a truly romantic picture of a couple of career-focused individuals finding that they need so much more than their careers.
The writing is instantly captivating, filled with dynamic and often hilarious banter, especially between Linc and Lennon. I couldn't stop reading this until I was done. As much as I've loved each of the earlier books, this one is my favorite so far. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I love this series as I did the Knight series that this is off shoot from and I would recommend that you read both series You won't be disappointed. This is the third book and is Lincoln (Linc) Reed
Linc was taken prisoner in the second book in this series and was found badly injured by his teammates now we get the story of how those injuries happened and it isn't how you think. While he is recuperating from his series burns Nealy Alexander manages to make his life hell she is continually questioning about his time as a prisoner She wants to bring down Operation X and get that promotion that she knew she deserved. When a chance encounter in a lift led to passion they realise they have more that hate and annoyance between them so when she is allocated to the ranger ops team to try to break the case Linc has to fight his instincts to protect her. Who is continually putting her in danger and why does the enemy always seem to be one step ahead of them Do they have a traitor in the system. This is a great fun read with plenty of action ans suspense as all this series has but the banter between these two career orientated take no prisoners soldiers make this a laugh out loud book at times
Em Petrova does it again with a great addition to the Ranger Op series. Each book can be read as a stand alone. Honestly the series as a whole is great, so I would recommend going back and starting at book 1 if you have not read it to begin with.
These books are steamy, dreamy, and oh so yummy. Awesome story lines, action packed goodness that is so entertaining. The Ranger Ops men are so hot! Their is laughter, intrigue, and all sorts of yummy goodness that just draws you in. Strong characters, not just the Ranger Ops. I like seeing a strong woman who stands up for what she believe in. Nealy is super sweet but can get down and dirty with the rest of the men. I have loved Linc since the first book and was so happy to see him finally come to the front of the pack. It was great to see him get his HEA. Can not wait to see the rest of the guys finally meet their soulmates as well.
Written as a 3rd person, multi pov with a HEA.
Would I recommend this book? Yes
Would I read more from this author? Yes
Sassy Beta Reading and Review
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book starts right where book 2 left off. Linc was taken captive and we start with when he first regains consciousness. He is so strong willed and dedicated he withstands all of the torture without saying anything. I love how he escaped using baking supplies. Granted he almost blew himself up in the process, but baking supplies. While in the hospital healing he meets an ATF agent, Neely, who is also working the same case. They butt heads every time she visits. This book is so exciting and terrifying at the same time. Neely has to deal with a condescending boss, an attitude from Linc and having to prove she's at least as good as, if not better, than the men. The team takes one step forward and then gets pushed two steps back. Of course, working so closely together and harboring a secret respect for each other feelings grow. This is a fantastic addition to the Ranger Ops series and I love them all. Go on this wild ride to catch the bad guys despite the misinformation and betrayal Neely has to deal with. Thank goodness Linc and the guys have her back. I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.
Nealy is an ATF agent and is trying to get information from Linc, a Ranger, while he recovers from injuries suffered while being held captive and tortured by a group of gun smugglers. Linc thinks she is a pest and wants her to stop annoying him with repeated questions when he has told her everything he remembers. Both Linc and Nealy are attracted to each other and try their best to ignore the feelings. Linc returns to his unit and soon learns that Nealy has been assigned to his team in a joint operation. Little things begin to go wrong, misinformation from her boss, wrong locations, etc. The feelings they have for each other begin to grow as the mission progresses. Linc begins to suspect someone in her organization as being on the take from the organization. Will they be able to shut down the organization? Will they be able to complete the operation without getting hurt? I enjoyed the book. The plot and the characters were strong and kept my interest. I would recommend this book to all over 18.

Wow! How to put into words how much I loved this book? Just when I thought I was going to get a great book about Linc what does Em Petrova do? Well she only goes and writes a kick ass book.
I was waiting eagerly on the edge of my seat for this book after the teaser we were given at the end of the last book. I was expecting this book to be very emotionally charged and to focus on Lincs experience and recovery, but boy was I mistaken. I was totally thrown for a loop and I loved it. Nealy is an amazing character and love how tough she is and how she is able to strategise and work with Ranger Ops with no questions asked, yet she is still feminine and unsure of her growing feelings for Linc, who in turn goes through his own turmoil searching his feelings. Together Linc and Nealy are dynamite and I love how they bring the best out of each other when behind closed doors. I love how Linc goes all alpha on her yet never over steps the mark which shows a great amount of respect for her and her position.
This is definitely my favourite book in the series, and I’m still struggling to put into words how much I loved this book.
Badly injured escaping from arms dealers, Linc finds himself in a Bethesda Hospital burn unit. Recovery is a painful and tedious event, made worse by the constant presence of a persistent DEA Agent asking the same questions over and over.
After being passed over for promotion, Nealy is given the case of a lifetime. Operation X is the one that could elevate her career so the next promotion would be hers. The biggest lead on these arms smugglers/dealers is currently in her neighborhood recuperating from burns acquired while getting away from these men.
With Linc discharged and back in Texas and her bosses wanting results, Nealy heads to Texas to join with the Ranger Ops to take down those involved in her case. She doesn't exactly get a warm welcome.
Plenty of intrigue, suspense and white hot heat flares between Nealy and Linc whenever they are together.
There's also hints of an information leak that is jeopardizing every mission.
This is a very sexy read, with enough action and intrigue to keep you turning the pages.
Oh boy! I loved loved loved Nealy and Linc! I am loving this series and so far, Linc has to be my favorite, after Sully of course. This picks up during the time Linc was captured from the second book and we get to see what he went through and how he got through it. In comes in Nealy, and they don't get along. But when they get trapped in an elevator, boy that escalates quickly. I could sense their connection even when they were at odds with each other, but after that sexy elevator scene, boy, that just took it up a notch. This was a perfect enemies to lovers sort of romance with action, suspense, steamy scenes, and of course the love. I love that there were several, and I mean, several steamy scenes, and I swear my Kindle was burning up with all the hotness. I love that Nealy was also all up in the action and Linc had to come to accept that it's her job as well. I couldn't get enough. I can't wait for the next book.

With the newest story from Ranger Ops, the reader gets pulled further into the lives of this group of kick-ass operators. Getting to know Linc is a journey worth taking. He loves, fast and hard. He doesn't let his bad moments keep him down. He lets Nealy in. He calls on her when he needs to. He isn't stand offish and he doesn't let what could derail him, get in his way. He does let his softer side show and he makes the reader want to find him in real life. Nealy is confident but has a few moments of clarity where the self assuredness dims. She is definitely a match for Linc. Great writing. Great series. Strong characters full of realism and depth. The story or plot is unique and stands strong on it's own. As always, it is fun to catch up with all the members of the team and in this case Linc and Lennon's mom.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A bad situation landed Linc in an 8 by 8 crate. Uncertain exactly how long he was trapped, he had urinated in one corner, but pleaded for a box for his other business. One of his captors hands him a box with baking supplies. Being who he was, Linc blew them up to escape.
Nealy is an ATF agent sent in by the Acting Director who took the job they were both qualified for. Intel is allegedly supposed to be found in the memory of recovered Ranger Linc. As he put in though, there was little in his crate, and not more than pig poo and weapons in the vehicle used to transport him.
Not a great way to meet, but hot times and dangerous trials are ahead.
If you like steamy action, adventure, romance and the teams that battle through it all, this HOT KU read should make your day hotter!
I received an advance copy from Booksprout. I read this book on Kindle Unlimited. I have read most of the books in this series on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited.
The third in the Ranger Ops series, this is Linc’s story, and he meets his match, literally, in Nealy, a feisty, determined, and competent ATF agent. With Ranger Ops’ survival still on the line and a plethora of bad leads to combat, Linc and the team are racing the clock. This is a sexy, intense, enjoyable suspense story that has a slightly unsatisfactory ending for the bad guy! The Ranger Ops series has become a must-read for me, and, with each book, the insight into its members and the interactions on the team make the characters more rounded and keep you even more engaged. As always, there’s a revisit of the characters from the earlier books in the series – and those weddings will be something else.

This is the 3rd book in the Ranger Ops series, and picks up Linc injured at the end of book 2 (can be read as stand alone). The development and background of the characters was wonderful and provided a vivid picture for the reader. Additionally, Em provided a wide depth of emotion to transverse throughout the reading including disappointment, anger, sadness, fear, guilt, happiness, anxiety, overwhelmed, sensual, regret, and more! Plus, more steamy love scenes than I could count! What happens when your enemy becomes your lover? When you want to protect them from harm at all costs - even if that cost is your relationship? Linc is a man who ALWAYS gives his all. Nealy never backs down. Read this book to see how/if they come to terms.

Sometimes you got to stop and listen to your gut! This is a library worthy series. Nicely done! Linc was taken hostage and tortured for information. He had a unique way of escaping, but he did escape! Nealy, lost a promotion to a less competent male co-worker, Mark Mitchum, her new boss. She is assigned shared commmand with Ranger Ops to bring down Operation X, the same people that tortured Linc. Her boss, made the fatal mistake of not treating her as an asset but dismissively as a 'female' giving credit for their first op to Ranger Ops. She learned that lesson. But O-X seems to always be one step ahead of the team. Does Mark have Neal's back? Is Linc experiencing any PTSD? Who is behind Operation X? Absolutely Epic adventure. Impatiently waiting for the next story. I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.
Linc and Nealy. After the ending of the precious book I didn’t know what we would get with Linc, and I was somewhat surprised as he seemed almost no responsive in the last book, but was talking and somewhat engaged in this book during the same events. During his recover we get to see their first meeting and it is clearly going to be an Enemies to lovers romance. Talk about a rough beginning! They butted heads and struggled with dislike, but a forced proximity and fear unleashed their tension to show their chemistry. Add in Ranger Ops action and a betrayal from her ATF colleagues this was a fast paced and detailed story. The team dynamics were on full display and we got a brief cameo of the other two teams Knight Ops and the swamp boys! The ATF betrayal was fairly obvious, but the rest of the story and the Ranger Ops support was fantastic.
So far, this is my favorite in the Ranger Ops series.
Linc and Nealy's story is almost non-stop adventure. There is that build up of tension with Linc and the crates. Then you have the antagonism between Linc and Nealy. There is suspense, action, and intrigue.
Not only do you get several steamy scenes, but you get a far amount of vulnerability and romance woven into the storyline.
I think Nealy really fits in well with the Ranger Ops Family. There is still all of the camaraderie, the loyalty, love and friendship that comes with the team.
Although this is the third book in the series, it can be read as a standalone.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this is received via Booksprout.
Linc has been through literal hell! At the start of the book, he has been captured and tortured. However, he is a fighter and Special Ops so he's got this. Once out, he has some recouping that needs to happen and it would go a little more smoothly if an ATF agent would just leave him alone. Everything about her bugs him but he is man enough to see that she is one good looking woman.
Nealy desperately needs Linc to remember more than he does. She has something to prove and a promotion she is more that qualified for. So everyday she visits Linc seeing if anything jogs his memory.
A unplanned meeting, stalled elevator and a slight PTSD moment ups the sexual chemistry between these two. Now they need to learn to work with each other, without clawing each others eyes out and keeping their clothes on around one another.
There were many aspects of this book I liked. I loved the banter and sexy times between these two. Even when they are yelling at each other it was hot. I also liked the protectiveness the Linc feels for Nealy even though she is more than capable to taking care of herself. This leads to a few things that Linc does that I didn't agree with.
They work well together, and she works well with the team. I hope to see more of her in future books.
