It should have been a simple drive, from Malaga Cove in LA , to Weston, outside Boston.
But it didn’t work out that way.
Maybe it was because Lacklan had his mind on the plans he’d been discussing with Jim Redbeard in Los Angeles, plans to assassinate high ranking Russian and Chinese officials - the last remaining members of the Omega cabal; or maybe it was because he was thinking about Marni, shot in the stomach in Oxford as they were planning to make their life together. Or maybe it was just the deep, dark Wyoming night, but whatever it was, something made Lacklan turn left, when he should have turned right.
And left took him high into the hills, among the deep pine forests, to the town of Freedom. Freedom, where every house had a white picket fence. Freedom, where the streets were clean and everybody smiled. Freedom, where they’d had the same mayor and the same town council for almost fifty years. Freedom, where there was zero crime…
He planned to stay the night at Missy’s hotel, while the local garage charged up his car. He was, after all, on the clock, with an important appointment to keep. But when he witnessed the local school teacher being arrested and beaten for teaching that the world was round, everything changed.

Another brilliant book by Blake Banner. This one has a twist t o his normal books about destroying omega. Lacklan becomes stranded in a small town called Freedom. The name is anything but by the actions of the town citizens. He manages to get arrested by the town's so called sheriff and is sentenced to be hung the same day. But this is Lacklan Walker they are dealing with. Thoroughly recommended
Traversing the pages of this thread worn genre and somewhat predictable format, my eyes jaded by over six decades of book-a-day reading, watched helplessly as my fingers turned page after page as with a mind of their own. Even as the visual of the ending sentence faded from memory my fingers continued to page turn needing more. Inexplicably drawn into the plot, consumed and compelled to finish ... a victim of a fait accompli. Even though a series continuation this novel translated fairly well as a stand-alone.
Lacklan Walker can't seem to catch a break. Ex SAS, his entire existence since leaving the military has been spent fighting with Omega, a organization whose end game is world domination. By chance, a wrong turn he ends up in the small town of Freedom. Freedom has a strange and dark history. Does the person who controls this town have a connection to Omega. This is an amazing fast paced action thriller full of twists and turns. Enjoyed immensely
This was a powerful book with a lot of memorable lines and insights. This was a different spin on Lacklan. It was a unique lens to a beloved character and soldier. I finished it with a lot of questions and I'm ready to see what's next. let's Go! The Omega Series is one of my favorites.
Wow, I have just finished book 14. This series continues to keep me totally enthralled. At this moment in time I just cannot work out how it will end. I guess the only way to find out is by reading book number 15, Endgame. A really great series. I have given every book 5 stars, simply because they deserve them ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lackland finds himself sidetracked in a small town in Freedom Wyoming with a religious cult leader and his bunch of thugs as they use the people of the town to harvest there home grown drugs. Literally millions and millions of dollars of drugs. When a young man of the town who disagrees in what's going on is brutally murdered Lackland steps up to investigate.
Oh my gosh!!!! What an amazing book! This story begins with the main character deciding he had to make his 'last ditch effort'. He had to bring Omega to an end. Unfortunately, what he got was a handful of mystery! He is left wandering what has been happening. Please let me finish the next book and find out!
All of the Omega series is one action scene after another. This could be the best book of the series. There are so many twist it is hard to tell where it's going.
This is a series that in my opinion keeps getting better. This book could almost be a standalone as it has a good plot, location and pace. It is however also a building block in a much greater story - that of Omega
Another nail biter in the Omega series. I loved it except for one thing... The story ends in midair so you have to wait for the next instalment, really the second half of the story, to see how things get resolved.
A fun read as always, but the idea that he could just happen to take a wrong turn and wind up in another Omega-related crisis strains credulity. LOL. Lacklan smokes so many cigarettes that I've developed lung cancer just from reading about them.
Oh hell no! This book did not just end this way!! It's like Banner has gotten a second wind! These last two books are page turner's! Time for the next one! Now! Hehehe!
Another great book Walker seems to end up in a fight where ever he goes !!Question is is he's brother Ben alive or dead and will Marnie pull through have to wait for next book
lacklan faced a tough group who hides behind what the word of Freedom means. However,as he finds out——drugs, the loss of freedom, and women taken.Marni Is always on his mind.
