When the invaders came, the tribe’s chief went to war leading the tribe’s warriors. He returns mortally wounded with only a handful of survivors. He urges his daughter, Mir, to lead the surviving villagers into the forests. Most are wise enough to know they cannot defend their walled village against the invading army. Most follow Mir willingly. Mir is a warrior like her father and has her mother’s powers as well. This is a combination most of the villagers respect and fear, though some of the men resent her position.
Mir must face her enemies within the tribe and find a way to ensure her people survive the invaders. It is a challenge that will require cunning, courage, skill, and miracles. Fortunately, Mir has access to all of these.
