Oh So Sweet
In this book by R. A. Black, Sabrina, a part-time preschool teacher encounters her old love, Kevin, who is a single dad, and a fireman. He’s struggled to raise his daughter, Kim since her mother deserted them and demanded a payment to give up rights to her daughter. Kevin has worked for two years saving and scrimping through the help of his dad in taking care of Kim on the days that Kevin had shifts. When his dad started to decline in health, Kevin enrolled Kim part-time in preschool, and that is when he saw Sabrina after years since she’d dumped him in school. Seeing each other again, stirs old feelings for both of them. When his dad has a fall down the stairs, Kevin realizes that he needs to hire a nanny to help while he completes plans to open a restaurant, so he turns to Sabrina. A night of passion has her submitting her virginity and begins the story of lust, love and an angsty relationship. There is more to this story than their sexual chemistry as Sabrina deals with her father’s physical abuse of her mother and at times herself, and the bullying she received in school as well insecurities when Kim’s mother returns wanting to renew her relationship with Kevin. While I liked the well written storyline, I felt Sabrina and Kevin immaturely dealt with their emotions at times.
