**I dropped a few spoilers here and there in this review***
Ugh, I need a Sloan and Amanda book now. Like I’m a keep saying, it is like every book to this series. 🤣😩....
Like where is her guy? Give her Jake (Alexis) brother or Sloan (Nick) best friend somebody, please...
But in other words! This is the one book that I actually couldn’t wait to read because, for one, I wanted to know what will happen between Nick and Lexi. Since in the book with her best friend Maddy, she was complaining so much about her boyfriend at the time, Josh. Who recently broke up with her over a text in this book, not wanting to come to see her and stuff. But I came to realize that Josh popped up a lot at the Todd’s Pizza place that she worked at to get her back and even brought a new girl once he figured that he and Alexis weren’t getting back together (Taylor Swift song)...
Like I was like.....
Uh! How come he didn’t want to come to visit her when they were in a relationship? I was glad when she figures out he was full of crap because he didn’t deserve him at all even if she was a certified clinger. One thing I didn’t like though.... ( which isn’t about Josh but Nick). Is that Nick let they girl be all over him (like had his arm around her! Without a care in the world knowing that at the time, he and Lexi were dating (sort of not a relationship) but dating! I was glad when Lexi told that girl off (with words; in a petty way) and removed her from Nick.
I also glad that he came to his senses that he wanted Lexi as his girlfriend because, like he told his best friend Dylan about Bianca, who is both he and Dylan's best friend, he gotta go for his girl before some other guys get to her. That’s what he did. Nick listened to his own words and got the stick out his behind and got his girl. Because I understood where Lexi was coming from... and also where Nick was coming from.... she wanted a commitment, and he didn’t. He should’ve known what he was getting himself into and vise versa for Alexis... at least both of them came to an understanding that they needed to be in a committed relationship because they cared and loved each other a lot. Plus, Nick was way better for her anyways over Josh!
It's my second book by this author and I have so say it is actually very good. Just like previous one. I go through the books with this theme high school hate love, friend to lovers and I think right now I am demanding reader and it's hard for me to actually find something interesting right now and this books are just that interesting that is. Apart that this author kept it like sweet romance there are few hot scenes in it no something very graphic, but it’s what male hero do, say. You know it’s very hard sometimes to find a good romance book where male hero isn't’ feminine. It’s because some authors can’t imagine how it is to be a man or how they think and they do sth like that: sweetheart this and that, I hate when guy uses this line. And this author definitely can do it: create great male hero and great dialogs. Why this books aren’t popular like Tijans or Penelope Douglas books? It’s not only because of lack of mature content which is sad because this book has great potential to be big in category which is now very popular: high school mature content romances that is like Tijans and many more authors. This stories are also very short and if there were like average book length it would be very good for them. Summing up this author has sth that many others don’t: great storyline, great characters and quite hot relationships in it. And many authors that are very popular right now like Tijan, Shen, they can’t achieve that with their latests books. Not for me anyway. I hope that this author won’t stop writing and write mature content high school because in this stories is great potential to be 1 number bestsellers.
I didn’t want to hate this book, it just happened. I’m actually somewhat fond of this author by now, but man I just did not care for this book. Looks like we’ve gotten the second one star book and the second one star ever. Let’s get into it.
Lex was by far my least favorite character from this series, I didn’t like anything about her! The book starts with how she has to get a job because she hella ran up her parents credit card. Girl, what are you doing? I got a job at 17 because I wanted to and I never treated it the way she treated her job. I’ve never even spent that much money in a month. I was just blown away by this girl in the worst possible way.
Nick was fine, just fine though. I didn’t love him, I sort of liked him I guess, but only sort of. He seemed nice enough, but there was nothing more there that made me like him. What the hell did he see in Lexi? Didn’t care for the fact that he called her brat even if she was cool with it. Lexi was a total brat though, this I can agree with.
I felt like this book had a lot of time spent with Lexi’s friends. This was fine, sort of, just extremely boring. I wanted to see more with Nick. Honestly, at 50% I really wanted to DNF this book. I skimmed the last half of the book because I just couldn’t take it. I didn’t miss anything though. I feel really let down. I was contemplating whether this book should get one star or two, but I kind of actually hated this book. Now I feel a little nervous to go into the last book of the series, but I will.
I loved the book. I am a twelve year-old author and I know which books are good and are terrible. This book was perfect. If I had a choice I would not read this book again because I don't read the exact same books twice. But I would read this book twice because it was so I good. I enjoyed this book 😜. I have his book this rating because the book was perfect but it was not amazing 😝. Thank you for writing this book Madeleine 😛. I will recommend this book to my friends because we all love young adult books, fiction books, and romance books out into one book. Trust me or entire bedroom (they live with me) is packed with young adult, fiction, and romance books. Also half of our books are the ones where romance, fiction, and young adult books are out into one😜😛😝😋. Thank you so, so, so, so ,so, much Madeleine Labitan, for writing this book. The only dislike is, is that you didn't put the illustrator of the book (for the cover).
This book was okay. I absolutely loved Nick. (Way more than one should love a character) and that is mainly the only reason I managed to finish this book.
Lexi was annoying from the very beginning of the book till the very end. She was everything I personally dislike in female characters. Definitely one of the most annoying characters out of this entire series.
There were a few spelling errors here and there, nothing too major. I get that it’s a teen read, but the strong language in this book is definitely not recommended for under 16 year olds.
I’ve enjoyed this entire series so far (first book had me hooked!) but this is definitely the worst book of the lot.
Alright so let me start off with how being confident is a really good quality to have but when someone confuses confident with cocky and obnoxious, now that’s annoying. The main character made a couple of comments that didn’t sit with me that well, like she was talking about how, “she knew guys stared at her (because she is just that pretty)”. There were some other things like that, that just irked me the wrong way. But enough complaining because overall the story was pretty good and the romance was cute once I got passed her behavior. Pretty much I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a high school romance where the girl tries to change the guy.
If you like real life " this is what today's teens are doing", then this is the book for you. I do not like to date authors low, but in my opinion, I could find a lot that would make Nick lovable . Being hot and pot smoker and drinker doesn't make him cool in my book. Love is not the same as lust. It doesn't take a wordsmith to be able to use other words other than the "F" word to get a point across. Having said all of that, I'm so believe that this author has a lot of talent. I apologize in advance if this review seemed negative, but teen books seem to branching out to anything goes.
I feel like there was a huge gap in the development between lexi and nick, it's just like the author went from them being "enemies" to them being the it couple in like, 2 pages ? Where when how did things escalate so quickly between them? Because the reader definitely didn't get to see most of it, however I must say, I enjoyed the last quarter of the book, the whole situationship, them not being on the same page, It's relatable, and it's always nice seeing a main character going through similar stuff as you lol, anyways this was fun, can't wait to read the next one
Unfortunately, I couldn’t even make it six pages into the book. There were too making blatantly obvious mistakes I’m surprised an editor wasn’t fired. First being no one is having a divorce, you can get divorced. Followed by the sentence “They love each other too much for there to have serious problems.” If within six pages your story reads like a horrible fan fiction, there really is no reason to continue reading.
The banter between Nick n lexi is funny n all the in between from their friends too. Who would've thought Lexi could see past his playerness n get him to b a couple with her n settle him down,Nick was sweet n goes about things almost like he wasn't the relationships kinda guy but deep down she got him good.
This is a wonderfully written story by Ms Labitan and very enjoyable to read. It follows the story of Hugh school senior Alexis and Nick and the love/ hate relationship they have which slowly develops into more. This story deals with a lot of issues young people face today including social media and the damage it can do. A wonderful read.
Wished there was a little more build up between Nick and Lexie but it's a cute little read. Previous characters now in relationships are mentioned which is sweet.. But still missing a few side characters like Holly and Ash from book 1
onto book 5
I'm hoping Amanda (lexie bff gets her own book too)
This one was kind of just meh. The MC was a little annoying. And I prefer books written in past tense so that’s always a mental hurdle to jump over when it’s written in present tense.
This book and Perfectly Clueless are my two favorite in this series. I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved the way Lexi handled everything after the kissing video. She didnt take crap from anyone. I'm glad that by the end Nick realized how much he loved Lexi.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel from the first page until the very last. It has been very rare that I have been able to read a book in one day, but I was captivated by these characters instantaneously.
It was OK, some of the sentences didn't make sense though, it just seemed like some of the normal phrases you would normally use had been changed slightly which would be great if the changes made sense but they didn't. I did enjoy the the story though it was a cute, quick read.
This turned into more of a scan after I read about a quarter of the book. I didn't care for the main characters and their lacked character development. There was a lot swearing. There was alcohol, drugs, and sexual innuendos. So not a clean read.
Overall the book was good. I had a hard time liking Lexi. She was annoying and frustrating. I don’t think I would read this book again but I would try others from this author.
3.8⭐️ in love with this series. I was very concerned at the beginning because the guy was just too much of a playboy... and I still don't get it Why did he change for her if she didn't do anything to stand out!?? anyways but the rest was cutee
It was good, but I think this book was my least favorite in the series. The story was alright, but I think I did not adore the characters as much as I wanted to.
I give “Hate to Love” 4 ☆☆☆☆. Alexis and Nick remind me of my own relationship with my husband. Their bickering and playful antagonism was great to read and I enjoyed their whole arc.
