Jack Becker has never dated a girl in his life, opting for casual hook-ups over commitment. He knew the minute he laid eyes on Ava Fisher, he should avoid her at all costs—but that proves impossible. Now he finds himself tempted to abandon his past, unable to imagine Ava with any other man but him.
As Jack navigates his first relationship, there is someone who isn’t happy that he's decided to settle down. As Jack and Ava become the target of a series of suspicious incidents, can they figure out who it is before the situation becomes deadly?

Staring at Jack was like falling into quicksand, when you got sucked in, it was hard to get out.
A good high school romance. Jack is an eff boy. Ava is the new girl at school that’s running from something. They obviously become eff buddies, because of course. I gobble this trope up by the way. Anyway. Outside forces don’t want the, together, so bad things start happening to them. High school angst. A little bit of crazy. Some steamy steamy bits. All in all a good read, and I’m excited for the next book. I figure there will be even more angst and suspense since it has the potential to be out of the high school age bracket.
Jack Becker is a playboy, he doesn't date, he screws.. that's it. He's not the type to get attached or even chase a girl, he lays his cards out from the beginning. No false pretenses.
Ava Fisher is the new girl, she hasn't made any friends other than Hannah, she had a bad experience with her last set of friends at her old school so she isn't too enthusiastic about making new ones.
Jack and Ava are just as intense as Nikolai and Hannah (from Nikolai, Dangerous Love, #1) and I loved every minute of it! I loved the internal warfare Jack had with himself, and I loved Ava's patience and kindness. The struggles they faced together were jaw dropping, I didn't expect high school students to have as many quandaries as these two had to face. I truly appreciated how maturely they were able to handle themselves and their situations. I enjoyed the emotions and how the author displayed the story. It wasn't too fast paced where you were struggling to keep up with it but it wasn't too slow to where it dragged on either. It was just right.
For this only being the authors second book, it was very well laid out. Kristin Alexander has a true talent for writing!
I was beyond blown away by Jack's book that I read it in one day. We first meet him in Nikolai and I knew immediately his story would be more emotional and intense. He was a broody guy with secrets, yet he portrayed a guy that was carefree. He was a player with the girls, his motto was pretty much one time then walk away. In this book we get to see behind his façade and that deep down he is actually a caring guy that has a heart of gold, but he can't and doesn't want to acknowledge that, until Ava comes along. Ava was a great character because she had her own secrets and been through quite a bit, yet she didn't let it define her, she would still smile and try to be thankful for where she is at now. Ava and Jack together were amazing, they definitely had the chemistry but they both had their secrets. Ava shares her secrets to Jack, but Jack is reluctant to let anyone in too far even if his feelings for Ava have intensified. My heart hurt for Jack because his family may have had money, but that didn't matter because he was treated awful by his parents, that had a horrible marriage, and that was why he kept pushing Ava away. I loved how their story goes back to the party where they first meet in Nikolai, but it doesn't repeat the story previously we just get other details and point of views. There is some drama, mystery, heartache, and definitely so more Nikolai. Overall Jack is amazing and at the end we glimpses of other characters/potential couples and I'm already looking forward to more.
I was so excited to get an ARC of Jack because I loved the first book in the series so much. I really enjoyed Jack and Ava’s story and we also got a lot of Hannah and Nikolai from the first book. You can read this book without reading the first book, Nikolai. I do suggest reading it so you get a better understanding of the characters relationship to one another as well as background information. If you love very mature high school romance with drama and OTT alpha heroes I definitely recommend this series. I’m so excited for Ivan and Emmy as well as Drago and Katya! I will be anxiously awaiting their stories as it will bring back that mafia aspect of the story that I loved so much in Nikolai!
I LOVED this one!!! Kristin outdid herself! Jack is even sexier and more suspenseful than Nikolai! I didn’t know that was possible! Jack was such a fun read and made me feel so much! I can't wait to see what is in store for the next couple in Book 3😉🥰
Kristin Alexander is a new to me author so when I first read Nikolai I was more than pleasantly surprised. She managed to mix a High School romance with Russian Mafia in the best way...she also made all the other secondary characters so interesting that I couldn’t wait for more from this series.
I really liked Jack and Ava’s story even though it did go into the typical back and forth angsty High School drama...I liked his struggle with commitment and intimacy. Usually this would bug me ..like ok we get it you have commitment issues lol but Kristin Alexander made me feel for him. I really enjoyed seeing him come to terms that he was falling in love for the first time.
I can’t wait for the rest of this series. I’m excited to see if she gets deeper in to the Russian Mafia part because that’s what made me fall in love with her books in the first place.
This book was really good! I loved reading Nik's story so I was happy when I found out we were reading Jack and Ava's story next. Their relationship progressed really well with a bit of action and biting-nail moments. I really hope we get to read Katya's story next!
This is the second book in the #dangerousloveseries but you can definitely read this one without reading the first book which is what I did. There were references to the story before you met Jack and Ava that made me feel like I was missing out on a great story so I’ve added #Nikolai to my #tbr pile. Anyway, back to #jack…I felt like this book was a perfect summer read. Every time I’d put the book down I found myself reflecting on what had already happened and what was going to come next. I loved how we are shown throughout the story where both Jack and Ava came from that made them who they were when they met. It revealed their struggles, vulnerabilities and strengths. I think the two characters balanced each other so well, which I guess is what you are ultimately looking for in books and in real life really. As I read the book I was surprised that things could be getting so serious (lots of mystery/suspense going on) and then there would be humor that made me laugh and things would lighten up. Oh and there was plenty of sexy stuff too! Over all I thought the book was pretty great and I can’t wait to read more in this series.

Having never read anything by Kristin Alexander I was blown away by her and I LOVED this book. Jack and Ava are great characters individually and I love them as a couple. I absolutely fell in love with Jack from page 1 and continued to fall head over heals for him. The story was fast paced and entertaining filled with all kinds of sexy times. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a flirty, dirty read, filled with a lovable Alpha male, trust me you won’t regret it.
“It’s not like I’ve never had sex before, I had. I’ve just never had sex with Jack Becker.”
I would first like to say thank you and sorry to this author. Thank you for giving me an ARC, and sorry for waiting this long to post my review!!
This book was the perfect follow up to Nikolai, and did NOT disappoint!! I LOVED this book.
“By the time we’re done, you will definitely know when I’m making you come.”
Jack Becker was a conflicted, angry, hot as hell character. He was everything I expected him to be and more. I thought I knew what he was like from Nikolai’s book, but there was so much more to Jack. Each chapter I was just begging to see what was beneath his tough exterior. I loved how he was with Ava as well. When they first had sex 🤩🤩
“It was always nice for a woman to know when she was going to have sex, so she could be wearing the right underwear.“
Ava was such a fun, quirky, sweet, confident character. She was so kind yet didn’t take shot from anybody and I LOVED it. She was funny yet serious and was perfect, in my opinion. Each chapter you get to see more Ava. The REAL Ava. Which was awesome.
“I still wasn’t sure what I felt about her, or dating in general, I just knew I had to have her near me while I figured it out.“
Overall, I think I like Ava and Jack more than Nikolai and Hannah.... I know, it’s crazy. But seriously this couple was so awesome and beautiful and gave me all the feels🤧
sorry to say this but i loved the first book better . i have to say out of all the characters and their stories and even in the first book ava and jack's story was not my number 1 choise , i was not really waiting for it but as it is i can say i love the auther so of course i'll read her books. -now one of the things that it gave me an off vibe is this : both main leads agree that they are not going to be in a relationship it's just sleeping toghether , then you find one of them think that aah well i think it's more for me i'm falling for him/her then she or he go and start acting like the two of the are bf and gf while the other one have no idea that the game have changed and your partner is expecting more of you . true that the ML was having a hard time to figure what he wants and sometimes he could need a punch but he was clear that one he didn't do relationships ever so he had no idea how it goes add to that the twisted marriage of his parents on wich the FL witnessed some sh**** moments of the ML's father . two he did say at the very beginning that this is not a relationship yes it's bad but the FL knew it and was ok with it. so when she started to think that she is falling for him and there is more for them i was like well so much for the yes i'm ok with the no relation. she also said to hanna that she knew that jack is a risk but she wants to take it and live the pain and tears , she said to her i want to live i'm ok with it , for her it's another form of freedom she didn't have before of course hanna looked at her like you're crazy and of course later she started to fear that she will get hurt...... my point is don't say things recklessly or you don't mean them so that later they don't come back & bite you , also when you agree on some things & those things change for you need to make sure to informe others personnes on those changes , ok you couldn't help those changes but don't start acting on them on your own while the others have no idea and then get mad or disappointed because they are not on the same page as you. - i wanted to see other characters i can't help it when i read i like to see other then the leads , here the was only ava and jack with a tiny bit of HANNA and NICOLAI ( when it help the story ) and a bit of shelby and her gang. - speaking of the gang , after getting done with the crazy ex of ava we go in a rolling to knew who is the psyco that is targeting her , i could tell it was one of the gang and to be honest i was not exited for the whole thing . we got a peek about drago and katia i can tell that things are not going well for them , him leaving after plaing hide and seek with her !! sending her mixed signals you ***** yes this is going to e fun , also i hope that katia will be a mature character she'll need it with the age difference i don't want her to be a brat and act like a kid , she sounded like that on that peek but she was drunk and frustrated so maybe it was because of that . - in all this maybe was not that good for me but it doesn't mean it will be the same for you and i do look forward reading the rest of the series
I did not read book one of this series- Dangerous Love. For the most part, you do not need Book 1- Nikolai to understand. Kristin did a great job giving enough details of Nikolai to understand the situation but also having the book truely be about Ava and Jack. The only thing that confused me at first was I thought this book was set in College. I was a bit taken aback with the amount of Sexuality and Drinking for HS students..... where was this in my HS? Granted I never went to a party..... I wonder how many kids were this sexually active as a senior. I obviously was blissfully unaware of this world. And apparently, still, am. 💋 Overall I really enjoyed this story. I really liked watching Jack grow as a person and someone who was able to show and experience deeper emotions. That he let Ava in past his walls. That even at the end of the book, he is still growing into a better person. 💋 Personally, I wish this book was split in two. There are two main dramatic events. I feel like they were a bit rushed, especially the first one. I think if this book was split into Book 1- with the first dramatic event, and Jack learning about his feelings and then having book 2 with the second event and Jack accepting and really embracing his feelings then Jacks and Ava's story could have been epic. It is hard sometimes to navigate deep emotional building with drama. 💋 I thought Ava was sweet but also strong enough to handle Jack. While she still was hurt by some of his actions, I felt like she handled it better than most females at this young age. She balanced him well. She saw him before anyone else. 💋 The steam in this book was amazing! What I loved is while Jack is much much more experienced he didn't come across as sleazy or uber dominant. He used his skills well, while also allowing Ava to learn and grow. She came to know herself more in the process. 💋 I can't wait to see where this world goes!! If the trend continues, I can't wait to potentially see more of Jack and Ava. 💋
I could not put this book down! I found myself searching though my blankets for my phone every morning because my eyes (not my mind) finally gave in to the sleep. This was my perfect mix of romance and thriller!
Jack is a text book f*$% boy. He has never been in a committed relationship but has had lots of relations, if you know what I mean. Ava is damaged from a previous relationship and ready to take back control of her life. The two are a perfect match to help each other fix their love issues, they just don’t know it yet.
There are many people who do not want to see Jack and Ava together and they are sure to show it. It was such a thrill following Jack and Ava through the mystery of who is behind the countless acts of harassment.
I did not get a chance to read the first book before this one but you better believe I’m reading it next. Can’t wait to read the 3rd book in this series.
ARC kindly provided by the Author for an honest review.
Dangerous Love Book two Jack from Kristin Alexander was a great read. First book read from Kristin Alexander and definitely not the last book. Great high school romance with two main characters with trouble pass. As the story progress you can really see and feel the two main characters grow. You have a bad boy that doesn’t do relationship that ends up falling head over heels for the new girl in town. This book has it all from high school romance, drama, and mystery, oh don’t forget hot sexy scenes. The love Jack feels for Ava is so strong that makes him go against all he ever known. At the same time the same love that Jack shows Ava only make her come out of her shell and grow into a strong woman. Now I want to go back and read the first book just to find out how Hannah and Nikolai’s story come to be.
First of all, I was looking forward to reading this book because I liked the dynamic between Jack and Ava in the previous book. Ava was cool and in control while Jack silently followed her around, clearly captivated by her. In this book, the author completely flipped the scenario. Ava was stumbling around, “gulping”, “screeching”, “yipping”, “squeaking” and stammering, making a total fool of herself while Jack was cool and stood by smirking at her.
Most importantly, I don’t like the message that this author is giving to NA/YA readers – that the woman should allow the man to make all the rules and determine the boundaries of their relationship and be grateful for any attention that he gives them. That it’s ok if he treats her like garbage, pushing her away and breaking up with her because he has “issues” and if she puts up with it, she will get her HEA.

I was very lucky to get an ARC from the author. It is my first book from Kristin Alexander and I will definitely check out her other books.Jack is the second book in a series and it can be read as standalone. In fact I am going to go and read the first book now because I am hooked. The story is full of suspense and steam.... I must admit it was sometimes a little bit too much for my liking, especially because it is situated in high school....but that is just my personal opinion. I loved the book very much: the love story between Jack and Ava is extremely well written and the suspense will keep you turning the pages...I found it very hard to put the book down for totally unnecessary things as eating, sleeping, going to work... 😂
I really enjoyed reading this book! and found myself glued to it once I started! I was fortune enough to read the first one in the series and found this one just as good! I really enjoyed Jack and Ava’s story and loved that we still got Hannah and Nikolai from the first book in this one! (You don't have to read the first one). The writing was great and the characters were both well written! I can't wait for the next book in the series!
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review
Yes please! Jack is not quite dangerous like the hero in book 1, but he's damaged and in need of fixing. Ava is a strong lead who has been through a lot herself. They're kinda perfect for each other, and the heat is steaming!
You writers seem to know nothing about women. You write about girls looking for men to play their daddies. Ava was weak, the guy treat you like crap the whole book, why can’t you writers let the men sweat a little🤬🤬🤬I’m done with kindle writers
Another great installment to this series. I love a tortured alpha male that finds the woman that brings him to his knees. Jack and Ava were so hot together and I loved their story. Can't wait for Drago and Katya's story.
Cant wait to read the next book!!! Curious to see if it will be about Katya and Drago OR Emmy and Ivan. Kickass amazing author and Nicholai is still my favorite!!
