“The secret is out now, my child. You must run now, or our foes will snatch you up and we will never hear from you again!”
Her secret is out…. Foes all around…. A mysterious stranger who claims to be a friend… A spy hides in the midst….
Melanie had spent her entire life doing her best to keep herself hidden from the special agents known as Enforcers, but nothing can last forever. Her only chance comes in the form of a mysterious man whose eyes cause butterflies to rise in her stomach and fire to course through her loins. He offers her a new home, a place she can be safe. She wants to believe it, but trust is not something that has ever come to her easy. The years of loneliness have caught up with her, and the small glimmer of hope at the thought of being able to find a happy future is too good for her to pass up. A fun-filled little action novel with some tasteful romance.
Publisher's Note: Mating A Stranger is a stand-alone book in the Shifters In The Shadows series. HEA guaranteed, no cheating. This book contains a hot and steamy. If such material offends you, do not buy this book.
Amelia Wilson has dedicated her life to writing. She is a firm believer in the power of love to conquer all, and her works reflect this belief. Her paranormal romances are known for their love stories, action and suspense. She creates immersive worlds that are rich in detail and full of emotion. Writing has always been very close to her heart. When she is writing a novel, she travels into that world and attaches her emotions to the story. She expresses herself better in written words than she could ever do verbally. She believes in love, and that love can conquer all, which is the reason why she is a writer of romance. She wants all the people, who have been hurt in love, not lose hope as fate changes and soon enough you all will find your one true love. Her books are a great way to satisfy your craving for paranormal romance with action, love and suspense.
This is such a good story when I got to the end I did not want to stop reading. This really grabbed my attention and held me in suspense. The hiding, the secrecy, the imminent danger and the threat of life and death were around every corner. In Melanie Nightingale's world nothing was scarier than running into the Enforcers. A group designed by the President to seek out shifters. When anyone was apprehended by the Enforcers they were never seen again. When the world became aware of shifters instead of assimilation and harmony, the shifters were feared, ostracized and hunted. When Melanie's cover was blown, Manu Nekrumah came to rescue her. She did not know that her boss Barnaby who was like a father figure to her had arranged for her to be safely taken away. "The Organization" took her in. It was a hidden shifter city where shifters and sympathetic humans worked together to further the peace between them and humans. From the moment Manu and Melanie fastened their eyes on one another their attraction was immediate. They were both wolf shifters. As Manu got Melanie up to speed on her new living arrangements, they became closer. However, danger was never far away. The Organization had a traitor who is spying and betraying all of the shifters. Melanie had not seen Barnaby for six months and when she finally did, he was beaten up. She hugged him and was so glad to see that he still lived. They began to work together as they did before. Manu was busier than usual and Melanie did not see him often. Two months went by and he arranged a date for them. It was here that Manu revealed the traitor's name. After that all h€ll broke loose. The story continues in a fast-paced epic ending. But I did not want the story to be over. I hope that the Shifters in The Shadows series will continue the thread of the Organization and keep us up to date on the previous book's characters. An excellent start to a new series.

This is a great start to a new series. In this novel we have a different take on the Weres'; in this reality people know about shifters and they're hiding because their being hunted and disappearing. This is a drama filled romance that has twists and turns and will keep you gripped as you need to know what happens next. Love the world creation with this story line it's excellent. Adore the characters that have been created in this one. Can't wait to read more in this series. Recommend reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
The Were-Holocaust. In a time when shifters are common knowledge, they’re still in hiding. Now, to be a shifter is to be persecuted by everything and everyone human. This is the world that Melanie has grown up in. She’s never known any other way. When her secret is leaked to the authorities, a secret shifter underground resistance comes to her rescue in the person of Manu, another wolf shifter. Their connection is powerful and instant. This story has all the elements that make a good paranormal romance there’s action, lust, intrigue, and love. It reads very quickly, and there are times that it feels like it’s skipping over some of the important details in order to get to the next scene. This book sets the stage for what seems like it’s going to be a very interesting series. I look forward to seeing what comes next. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Melanie is a shifter trying to keep a low profile because there are enforcers who seek out the shifters and kill them. She lives in fear. When the enforcers discover her is when Manu shows up to rescue her. Manu is very protective of Melanie right of the bat. There is a secret location where all the shifters live or so they believe it is until they discover they have been betrayed by an unlikely person. Then the true battle begins. I haven’t read a shifter romance book in a good while so it was nice to read this one. The story had some danger, romance, and some suspense. It was pretty fast paced which I felt seemed rushed but overall well-written and the characters were interesting.
A very interesting story set in a world where shifters are discovered and persecuted by the government. Melanie has spent nearly her whole life in hiding keeping the secret of her shifter nature. When the Enforcers come to her workplace, she narrowly escapes with the help of her boss and Manu, the shifter sent to take her to safety. But despite making it to a sanctuary, danger is still afoot because there is a spy in their midst. The attraction between Manu and Melanie crackles and colorful secondary characters add to the story. Before they can find their HEA, Melanie and Manu must fight against their oppressors with the help of their friends and once again find a sanctuary in their crazy world.
This story broke my heart when I started this book. All of the shifters are being persecuted for being alive. It's like the Holocust all over again with shifters. Melanie, a wolf shifter, is targeted by Enforcers and just barely gets out alive thanks to Manu, also a wolf shifter, and member of an underground resistance organization. After reaching sanctuary Melanie gets settled in and sees Manu as often as she can. Unfortunately, there is a snake in the organization working with the Enforcers to capture them all. I loved the description of their sanctuary. A whole compound secured from the outside world with all the perks of a town. This is a wonderful beginning for this new series. I requested an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.
This is a fascinating, drama-filled shifter romance & I really enjoyed reading it. The plot is entertaining & well-written with some exciting but totally unexpected events. The characters are interesting &well-developed & the secondary characters offer good support. There is: various kinds of shifters, a secret society & haven for shifters, relentless human enforcers, missing shifters & sympathetic people, deceit, betrayal, danger, threats, enemies, traitors, conflict, violence, devious plans, relocation, attractions, verbal banter, happiness, contentment, love, steamy scenes & a satisfying conclusion.
Shifters are all living in fear the enforcers are tying to find them and eliminate them so they try to live below notice. That is what Melanie is doing she is finally living her life how she wants and keeping under the radar until she is discovered and will need to flee to survive Manu a shifter comes to her rescue They head of to an area where shifter of all kinds are living in safety but when they are betrayed he will have to protect her yet again good thing that he has bonded with her and she is his mate
This is a fast paced quick read if there was any criticism it sometimes felt a little stilted in parts but overall a good read that flowed well for the most
Enforcers hunt shifters and they have Melanie in their sights. Melanie has been keeping a low profile and working at Bernstein Law Offices for Barnaby Bernstein and had seen some men acting strangely on the roof opposite earlier. When an unknown shifter enters and her boss tells her to go with Manu. He is tasked getting Melanie to safety and as they struggle to get clear of the building to a safe location they warm to each other. A shifter romance to enjoy. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Danger in a world gone crazy! What I love about Amelia Wilson books is that they are fascinating! In this one, the setting is a world where shifters are discovered and persecuted by the government. This book has elements of deceit, danger, and threats. There were enemies and traitors and within this mix, there is happiness and love (with some pretty steamy scenes). What more could you ask for? I really enjoyed the book! You really should pick this one up. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Intriguing shifter tale with a few twists. When the world discovers that shifters exist, the governments react badly. Enforcers are appointed to keep them under control. The shifters create their own organization to protect their people, but when danger threatens, they must find the mole who is putting them all at risk. This story has well developed characters, and a few twists that keep you reading to find out what will happen next.
I would have given this book four stars but it was uncomfortable reading at times. Poorly edited. The writing was stiff and stilted at times when the characters were talking or thinking. No use of contractions so it didn't read as naturally how someone would talk. This was a short story but I hope it is the beginning of a series. I would like to know how what happens to the shifters in the future. Being forced to hide from persecution and possibly death is not right.
5 STARS for this well written, shifter romance that is a fascinating read and was hard to put down. The shifters are living in fear of the enforcers because they are trying to eliminate them. The characters are complex and well developed. This story has action, suspense, and a few twists along the way. I recommend you read it for yourself.

This is the story of Melanie and Manu. This book was very entertaining and I enjoyed it a lot. It contains drama and suspense. It has nice twists and turns that keeps you from putting it down and makes for a fast read. The plot is written well and the characters well developed. I loved the chemistry and dynamic between them. The secondary characters were very supportive to the story. Recommended
I received this book as an Arc and I am reviewing it voluntarily.
Mating a Stranger: Wolf Shifter Romance (Shifters in the Shadows series)
This book had a lot of suspense in the plot line but the characterization could use just a bit more engineering. They came off as paper dolls than individuals as real people. It was an easy somewhat relaxing read for someone who just wanted a light get away type book. It was OK, but I like really getting to know the characters as people.
An enjoyable shifter read despite being so brief. I enjoyed the characters and the situational suspense presented. I had wished for more depth from the story all around- perhaps this is a side effect of being so brief? Still, it was entertaining and had a satisfying ending. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Different but nice in a way. To have the President declare war on shifters. Then have Enforcers show up to take care of them, it's like the Nazis in WWII. But the two of them together even from the start is cute. I liked the story it's a good one. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
The story is set in a world where shifters have been exposed and are at risk for being taken by the government. She has always hidden the truth but now her life is at risk.
I thought it was an interesting premise. Manu is a very secretive individual and I wish he had narrated part of the story as I wasn't sure what to make of him.
So sad to read of humans hating and hunting and killing shifters. On a cannot help but expect humanity to be better than that, but all one has to do is look at humanity today to know better. Melanie is a sweet young woman/wolf shifter. Manu is a Cherokee/wolf shifter who saves her from the Enforcers. It is a very good read. Great job, Me. Wilson.
Melanie is a shifter but has to keep it a secret. The President has decreed all shifters be captured as they are a blight on society. She works for a man she adores as a boss and friend. Manu is a shifter who appears one morning to take Melanie to safety as she is about to be captured. What happens next is a wonderful story and I really enjoyed it.
A good story with excitement, drama, adventure, lots of emotion, surprises. A difficult time for shifters who have a place to go to avoid trouble. He saves her just in time but ends up taking her there. I enjoyed reading it. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
I really enjoyed this book it had some action and was full of mystery and suspense. I was wondering if the enforcers were going to get them . It is a very entertaining book. There is also romance. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and gave my honest opinion.
This is the story of how shifters, once discovered, were discriminated against to the point of torture and death. Melanie and her boss, Barnaby are part of a small group of shifters doing what they can to help those caught by the Enforcers. L received this book for an honest review.
While I like this story, it could have used a little tighting up. There is not much action between hero and main character. And the title makes it seem like she doesn't know who she is mated to, which is far from the truth.
I wonder if Abados was a vampire. I'm glad they got Selena and her enforcers before they could take anymore shifters. Manu knew Melanie was his mate from the very first meeting and no one else stood a chance.
I liked the storyline in this book. It had good flow and had the action along with the hot steamy sex. Had some suspense and surprises. I like surprises!
A rather intense story about betrayal and some sadness but the love is fantastic and the people are all together to get things going in the right direction.
