Cerberus #3.5

Hera's Gift

Rate this book
Poppy and her men have been running the Underworld for a while now. Just long enough to get comfortable in their roles before life throws them another curve ball. Only, this time, it comes in the form of an invitation from Zeus.

The gods and goddesses want to know who exactly is running the Underworld now that Hades and Persephone have stepped aside, and as Poppy and her men are aware, saying no to a god is never a good idea. Can they survive the 'party' Zeus is throwing in their name, or will they end up with the mother of all hangovers?

*This novella was first published in the Shifting Destiny anthology and the bonus scene at the end was included in the Holidays Between the Sheets anthology. Recommended for readers 18+ #whychoose romance. Content Warning: Steamy love scenes and plenty of sexy warriors who will leave you wanting more.*

While I love the idea of a baby joining the group, I felt like it was wayyy too soon to happen and I was hoping to actually see how Poppy was ruling the underworld. Ya know sitting on the throne some, solving problems, maybe going back the the dark tower place (whatever it was called, I forgot. Oops)

I was happy the Persephone and Poppy became friends though. It was kinda cool!

Overall it was a quick fun read that took me literally 30 minutes to finish.

3.25⭐️whoops here’s a child. jfc i hate the accidental pregnancy in the epilogue trope and that’s basically what this was. like they just got to the underworld, they don’t even have their shit together yet. ugh. cuteness is the only thing making this the rating it is.

I really liked the Cerberus series so I was excited for this short story, but it fell a little flat for more, and there were several grammar/spelling mistakes, which is unusual for Scott's work, so it felt like maybe the short story was rush to production or didn't have as much editing done? There is also an entire scene about her buying a dress and we see the harem respond to her wearing it.... But it's not described at all? Which was weird? And I'm honestly still confused about. But apparently it has some sort of cape? I have questions.

I DID like meeting Persephone and Hades, even if Hades is NOT how I would picture/portray him, but the two are a cute couple IMO.

There were some moments that back up my theory that secretly this is a bisexual harem. -->

I AM glad I read it, however, for the short Christmas scene at the end, which was hot, hot, hot. Hunter biting her neck? *grins* bite, bite, bite.

Very cute, very sweet scene ending, which made up for some of the other plot points I wasn't as keen on.

Super quick catch up with Poppy and her merry men. Great to see the Gods being their usual selves too.
