Over the last three years, our facebook group has grown immensely. As the group has grown, we've celebrated with voting for different Point of View scenes; scenes that were never shown in the books or scenes that were from another character's perspective. All P.O.Vs that have been written to this point are included in this first volume, plus several that have never before been seen. Including Isaac reading his Christmas letter from Rory. Thank you so much for everyone's support!
B.L.Brunnemer has been a devoted reader since she was young. As a child, she was instantly attracted to horror stories. The plot, the suspense, the action. She loved it all. Which, as she grew, branched out into several other genres. But a strong female character always caught her eye. Through the years romance became a big part of her reading. Then she found the Young Adult/New Adult genre. But she had a problem. She never found the romance between most characters to be realistic enough for her. At least in the paranormal romance section.
So, she decided to fix that. She'd been writing for years already and had always struggled to finish a manuscript. Until, she decided to write what she wanted to read.
B.L. Brunnemer doesn't have any other publications at this time. She's just a woman, who loves a good story with great characters. And she hopes you'll love them too.
This is a collection of POVs and deleted scenes that are not included in the books. It’s awesome to have them in Kindle format (and on KU!). This includes a bunch of scenes that were not previously released. It’s a must read for fans of the series, truuuust me.
This book was awesome! It's a real treat to view events from different eyes. I'm really happy the author shared this book with us. And now I'm even more curious about the blur and dude at the sentencing. Maybe he's the blur. I can't wait for the next book to come out. So much is going on behind the scenes.
This was a great treat for us fans of the series. 5 stars
FYI this is not a book an anthology or anything of the sort. It’s mostly reading the same scenes already published from a POV other than the h. An unknown, 1 of the guys, Rory, or even Hade’s depending on the scene)
So many scooby-snacks in this book, with more mysteries woven into the plot. I hope BL picks up these threads in later books, because they are almost as interesting as what happens next with Lexi and the gang.
So I LOVE TVD Now, most of the POVS in this book are on the FB group file section already. But, I would say a handful of them are new that she didn't put on FB that were fun to read.
I didn't mind paying $3 for it though, because it's to support her work. I guess she is what they call an indie author?( I don't think she has a big publisher putting out these books for her) And, she has made a great series and puts so much work in everything from her books to the extra POVS she gives her FB group.
In my personal opinion there is no better group of authors than the ones who write for the RH genre. They are readily available to interact with their readers, they respond to questions and requests, and are simply nice (talented) ladies. This book is the epitome of that fabulousness. Inspired by the fantastic Beyond the Veil Facebook page BL Brunnemer has assembled Alternate POVs and never before scenes from The Veil Diaries. This is a must read for every fan of Lexie and her guys. It's so great to have all of this compiled into one book for easy access during a re-read of the series.
I focused on new characters and new scenes rather than already read scenes just from a different POV (I felt like those were not different enough from tbe original scenes to be of ot interest for me)
I particularly appreciated the last few scenes, introducing a new mysterious unknown character. Makes for a nice teasing while waiting for book 8
I enjoyed reading about Lexi and the guys and the continuation of the story. As always B.L Brunnemer deliverers a page truning book that you can't put down.
Pages: 250 My rating (stars): 4.5 Read other books from this author in the future: yes
I am a fan of TVD and was looking forward to this book. I loved it, because it reminded me of all 7 books in this series that are out so far. Mainly it’s some stuff retold from a different / sometimes several different POV’s and also some deleted scenes.
Oh my God! I did not know I needed this in my life! I stumbled across this the other day thinking maybe she released a new book that I didn't know about, but this was even better!! To get another person's side of a situation just adds so much more depth to this book, like im dying over here!! She even put Hades view on things and my heart melted!! Go read this now!!! (Well only if you've read all the other books as it contains some spoilers... duh lol)
So I was really up and down with this series, i disliked a bit of the plot and the repetitive writing, and was largely disappointed in the end. BUT, the characters always dragged me back, and i was largely pleased with this behind the scenes style look at some different POVs. I wish some of them had even been included in the original book, it would’ve given a lot more insight into the guys’ feelings. I especially loved Zeke’s POV, and i felt like we got more from him than the others. There’s still a few POVs i would’ve liked, but this was a nice and quick read.
Vale a pena ler? Por que são vários né... Vale.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This isn't a novel, or even a novella. This is a collection of POVs of various characters (even some outside the 6) through various scenes in the books. Even some deleted scenes that didn't make final drafts. Some added some insight, some were just fun. Some added even more questions lol. There's no way to really summarize this, so no spoilers section. Also, since most of her fans have already read a lot of these from the files for the fan page, most are known about. I do like having them all in one collection, though.
There are a few grammatical errors and oopsies, but nothing horrible.
If you are part of the reader group on fb, then you’ve probably already seen most of these - except for three. THOSE blew my mind. If you are not part of the group... why not? Get to it! 😂 These POV’s are from the guys, bonus content that adds a little bit more background, mystery and oomph to the already published books. Ranging from book 1 to book 7, they are short, private and sometimes intense. A great addition to the main story line and a boon for fans! Thank you for putting these together B.L.!
What did i just read? While ive read most of these on the facebook group page i loved reading them again! I especially loved the new povs added and oh my gawd some juicy peeks we got in this has me impatient for book 8!!! I CANNOT wait!
Side note: this needs editing as there were a few typos and repeating chapters as well as half of the last chapter was cut out.
Even the deleted scenes are great !! I have read every one of these books in that series and I could follow the time line , no problem . Even better was the scenes from the unknown !! I like POV from all characters because I want to know why Everything ! I will read anything by B L Brunnemer . Hopefully there will be more from behind the Veil !!
If you follow BL on social media you probably have already read some of these, but if you haven't, hang on tight!! I was stoked to see BL has included some new PoVs and deleted scenes! Once again, she has left us with new information and so many new questions and theories! I personally am grateful for her to have released these in book format. I previously printed them all out and had to basically carry around a manuscript when I wanted to read them! Lol! Thanks BL!
This series is one of my favorites, but this book drive me crazy! I know it is not a story, but it was so obvious that each section by each character was written by someone else. Whomever wrote the Zeke parts must have never read all seven books because they kept saying Lexi's eyes are brown! Anyone who has ever read the books knows her eyes are green! In fact, it is her red hair and green eyes that are her family traits on being a Necromancer.
The second book in the “Veil” series follows Navaho policeman Ben Dejooli in his new role as “the walker” in a tale taking place almost completely in the supernatural world of “the thin place.” A young boy and the timeless super crow Chaco are pursued by evil forces intent on destroying the world. Ben, his girlfriend Tammy and her friend Owen help Ben as much as possible in a climactic battle with the forces of evil.
Buying a book with all the POVs in one place was so worth the money. I always enjoy reading from someone else's perspective. There was also some new stuff in here that really makes you wonder and gives you a small idea what book 8 could be about. A couple really down right shocked me. I am so ready for the next book. Easily one of my top 5 favorite series ever.
Everyone who is a fan of the Veil Diaries should read this book. Most of the scenes are available in the facebook group for this series, but some are exclusive for this book. These include: Letters from Rory at Christmas - well worth a read Several deleted scenes - one of which is absolutely hilarious Some more information on side characters
This was a great gap filler for the previous books in the series. You have to read the the whole series to appreciate this book, which is why it’s a behind the scenes/ veil book. It does leave you hanging a bit, by titled some of the chapters as unknowns, just to keep you on your toes. Loved it anyway.
Loved the new POVs and deleted scenes! Can’t wait for more to come from B.L. Brunnemer. A few of the new POVs and deleted scenes were totally amazing and shocking and left my mouth hanging open. Totally worth the read because there are scenes and POVs that aren’t in the group file.
I love reading the POVs of all the boys. I especially loved finally getting a little bit of Rory’s Christmas letters to the boys.Although I’ve read most of these as they were added in the book group, there was still so much more that I hadn’t read and so many more questions that need answers now! Great companion book to the series!
