I read this book for my French class and it was okay. It was predictable and cliché but it still captured my attention. I also like the fact the book had some humorous scenes in such a serious mystery. Overall, it was okay.
i had to read this for my french class and it’s well known that NOBODY likes reading books for school, especially in french. though the language was rather easy, i understood most of it.
the story in general wasn’t bad either but i found it rather predictable at some point which made it less interesting.
Like was probably the case for many, I had to read this book for French class. The story did not particularly intice me and I did not care much for the characters (but this type of story is not my cup of tea anyway). That being said, it was definitely not a bad book, just nothing to write home about either. Due to it being in French, I can not say if the writing style is any good, but it was not abhorrent enough for me to notice at all. Plotwise the book was also fairly predictable at points. I would not recommend you pick this book up by yourself, but as mandatory reading for school, it was inoffensive enough.
while reading this story, I could feel my frustration simmering, hear my anger flaring up and sense my muscles tightening.. this was not it. I must say it was very predictable, at least that was the impression I got. I was actually hoping for a big twist and an entirely new storyline in the end, like a false sense of predictableness!!!! my bad too. with all the disappointment, I have to say it was the complete opposite, like literally the average crime motif/plot!!!! no jokes, I have seen this motif more times than I can count an reading it in french didn’t make it more interesting!!!!!! not to even mention the awful details. like the stereotype about burly men, for example.
I also want to add what I found truly extravagant. I could live with the fact that it was mentioned that every serial killer makes their murders significant, but claiming that in this story it would be the address of the murder suspect is a bit too much. nót every serial killer leaves their address or hands over their location for the taking(/makes their murders significant) and if they do, they might as well walk to the police station themselves bruh.
now that I'm at it, I might as well throw in a positive point !! the book wasn't exactly my cup of tea (and I say this as an absolute true crime fan!!), but i thought it was well chosen (by my school) in terms of difficulty level. it read quickly, with short chapters, extra drawings and difficult words explained!!!, an ideal book for a non-native french speaker so!!
I would basically recommend this to anyone learning french but not to frequent readers or people looking for good literature.

Like probably many others, I read this book in french class so I suppose I can't really rate this book. Anyways this was an ok read (for french class) albeit being a little predictable at times. The french was easy enough to understand so i cannot complain :)
2.75/5 Wel it sucked but was better than the book I had to read for French last year. I really liked the beginning but as it progressed, it got worse and worse. And the ending.. I mean please what the h*ll was that?? Even a 5 y/o child can write such an ending😀😀😀
I read this for school and I honestly thought that it was going to be terrible. It was actually pretty good and kept my attention. The ending???? Totally not what I was expecting. It was also well written. I definitely recommend but I wouldn’t read it again :)
Like many others, I read this book for my French class. I thought the story was very cliché, but enjoyable to read. The language was very simple and it was a very quick read. Would recommend to read for school.
