An enjoyable and light-hearted cozy mystery set at the eccentric Timberdale Retirement Center in Norman, Oklahoma. Laura Michaels is working towards her degree in social work. She works at Timberdale to pay the rent, and she, along with an Agatha Christie-fanatic resident, are the only people who see the deaths of two residents as possible homicides. The characters are eccentric, the setting is marvelous, and the mystery is good enough to keep the pages flying. The sly humor doesn't hurt the story, either.

"John Miles" was a pseudonym for the prolific and always readable Jack M. Bickham.
