The inside story of the personal and political path taken by David Ervine, one of the most courageous architects of conflict resolution in Norther Ireland.
I learned a lot from about the conditions of loyalists from working class areas and how they'd be vilified by the very political unionism that created so much of the societal inequalities that fueled the violence that affected everyone in Northern Ireland. It was a very engaging read, for those unfamiliar with the conflict in Northern Ireland it may require some more back reading.
Essential reading on the greatest leader that Ulster Unionism, as a whole, never had.
Ervine didnt why away from his role and involvement in the conflict but he learnt from it and endeavoured to challenge fellow loyalists and Unionists on the situation and the future in NI.
