When it came to defense, or offense when needed, Cullen McIntyre thought he was prepared. It wasn’t until he watched as monsters he’d never knew existed walked out of thin air to kill members of his family, twice, that Cullen realized how wrong he’d been. By the third time he’d come face to face with those determined to kill him and the rest of his family for doing their duty, Cullen knew he needed help, and lots of it.
The moment Ulf laid eyes on Cullen, he’d been enthralled by the man’s resolve to protect what was left of his family. Being shot and left for dead by Cullen should have cooled his desire for the fiery man, but it only made him want him more. By the time he caught up to Cullen, Ulf knew, without a doubt, the druid was destined to be his. Now he just needed to convince Cullen of that.
As Cullen and Ulf join their friends to fight the monsters from the realm of the Fae, they find there is a new threat waiting to get through the Veil. A threat they might not be able to defeat. Will Ulf & Cullen get their chance at happily ever after, or will the Fae finally succeed in their quest to destroy the veil?
Bestselling author of the Cedar Falls Series, Hart Medical Center Series, Miracle Series, and Paranormal Wars Series, Shea Balik has always had a vivid imagination with stories running around in her head. Often her stories are taken from observations of other people with her own spin.
Traveling is one of her favorite ways of fulfilling her passion of people watching. You never know, one day you may spark her imagination for her next book.
Whether at home or traveling she is usually in front of her computer writing or curled up with a good book.
Another good one! Cullen is a hoot, he seems so physically overpowered it's almost funny. There was a small continuity error between both books, but it was pretty minor (big enough to be noticed, not big enough to affect the overall plot).
Now I was planning on 5*, but, and I don't know if it's because it's a not finished version or what, but there were a lot of errors. Wrong names, grammatical stuff. So it needs to be looked over. When I started reading this series, everyone was like my favorite, ya know? They all had these extreme personalities, but they all just meshed so we'll. Of course, being together for thousands of years helps, but whatever. The more I read, though, the more individuals just had this way of getting to me more than the others. The last book it was Kegan. And Arne. Oh Arne. Well Arne has moved to top spot with Cullen. I don't know which I admire and love more. Now Arne I love because he just tells it like it is. MOST of the time, everyone knows it's a defense mechanism but it makes for some very funny moments. What made it funnier, is Cullen. The minute Fen the fae showed his face, Cullen had a knife in his chest. No one saw it happen, it was so quick. But Arne was falling over laughing. Anyway, that's why I love Arne. That personality. But Cullen made an impression because yeah, he's not afraid to take on Fen and got quite a few knife shots in. And he didn't back down. He made Fen finally tell some of the truth behind what was really going on and now things are getting worse. Because it's not just the pets getting through the veils. It's the unseelie guards. And that means soon. The worst. The problem is, how many more people have to die before the Druid's can close veil for good. And will there be enough Druid's left to do so. What broke me in this book, was Cullen's little nephew. He watched him mom and dad doesn't right in front of him at 5 years old and now he's training with knives to do his part. And is damn good! But even with how smart, strong and utterly into seeing things most don't, he's still just this sweet blue eyed, blond haired little tiny boy that I want to hug. Sweet baby. The other thing is, this series is taking a hell of a turn. More of the secrets of the curse are coming out. The curse of why Fen is cursed. Secrets are flowing and no one knows who is left alive from the Druids. It's making for an interesting read.
Another great add to the series. Cullen and Ulf are another great couple to fall for. With each book I get more and more into this Universe of Druid's and Fae. Suspense, romance and fantasy mixed perfectly together. Cullen has been around for awhile and I've been dying to know him more. Ulf is a brilliant fit for him and they are hot, fun and leave you wanting more. Things are heating up for these guys and I can't wait for the next. I voluntarily reviewed an 'Advance Author’s Copy' of this book.
I hope that we get to know more about why the ritual timing seems to be a bit fluid, but not fully so. With the rifts in the Veil getting bigger, I have to wonder if it'd be wiser to have the whole team go with one of the searchers to be there to help save some druids as well as complete that season's ritual - or is their ability and effectiveness enhanced by the converging ley lines?
A Menacing Tempest is the third book in the Druid's Curse series by Shea Balik. Oh the story is heating up even more, the allies are growing bigger.... but the danger is growing as well. Cullen and Ulf are hot and fun characters and the story is a nice mix of suspense, drama, humor and heat. Book by book, I'm getting addicted and cant wait for the next.
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
Of course she did it again. Another great book in the series. Another one I didn't want to put down. Even burnt dinner because I was enjoying the book so much. If they are all as good as the first couple. I see a hit series on her hands.
Ulf and Cullen have a unique meeting to say the least. I seriously enjoyed their story, it's a great third installment in the Druid's Curse series and just like the previous books it left me wanting more.

this was very interesting... a different sort of series for me.. good... curious.. wonderful writing.. amazing characters and interesting plots. very good and keeps you on the edge of your seat.. plus sexy and fun. can't wait to read the next one.
I loved this story. Cullen is fierce and knows how to fight. He booby traps the property for protection against the monsters sent to kill him and his family. Ulf arrives to help but ends up injured by one of the traps.
The two meet again when they arrive at Ulf’s home separately.
I loved these two together. Ulf and Cullen both are determined and protective of those they love. The series is intriguing and keeps your attention from start to finish.
I am looking forward to reading more about the cursed men and the situations that happen when each find their mates as well as the fae.
It's now time for Cullen and Ulf to take centre stage. Obviously a similar plot to before but does not help that both characters are hot headed and that Cullen shot Ulf after Ulf saved him and left him for dead. But as we know you can't kill a cursed 1000 year old viking. Enjoy it.
