This little book is a neat pairing of wisdom sayings and stories from the Desert Fathers and Mothers. Each time you open the book, wisdom is on the left, stories on the right, and each opening has its own theme.
I enjoyed the slow journey of this book. I've crossed and marked the parts that struck me most for future readings.
My soul resonated with this book a good deal -- if not toward some small imitation of the desert monastics, at least in treasuring their experience within, hearing the potential of the Way of Jesus lived without prohibition.
