Beloved: Legends Of The Vampires by Emma Night
Ethan is a vampire, his father is the leader of the Van Den Berg Coven. He has one brother Tobias, their father is deciding which one should be the next leader. Ethan has been hanging out at the hospital were Dr. Brook Peters work the graveyard shift and he has been watching her. She is attacked one night but is saved by Ethan. There is something going on with shifters attacking humans. This is a great read. I really enjoyed the way Emma Night weaves this story together. I have to say this story is a page-turner and hard to put down. I am already planning on reading this story again. This is my honest opinion. Ethan was the son of Balthazar, High Elder and leader of the vampire Van den Berg Coven. He enjoyed watching the young doctor, knowing she would again be working the graveyard shift at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Her blood smelled like honey fresh from the hive. Dr. Brooke Peters was doing her residency here to become a cardiothoracic surgeon. But now it was time for Ethan to resume his investigation of whatever shifter was working with a demon to commit horrible atrocities that had started to target humans. Before he could leave, Brooke’s boss walked up and reprimanded her for giving a family heart donor information (when Donna felt there were younger people in need of a heart before their older family member)! She was putting the reprimand in her file!
Brooke was upset and started to walk to the parking lot in tears. But she remembered her own father who had needed a transplant. She headed back but Ethan saw a hooded man begin to follow her! The man’s scent was shifter; he grabbed her, saying “The calling is here”, and Ethan forcefully pulled him away. His scent turned human but he wasn’t; he repeated his chant and then his eyes turned red and fangs dropped similar to a vampire! He called Ethan by name, laughed and disappeared! Brooke groaned and, when he looked at her, they both felt the chemistry between them.
Ethan reported to his father what happened and said he would take a volunteer job at the hospital to be able to investigate. His team went to the old lab where a red light had been seen which would indicate a portal shimmer from one of the demon dimensions when something came over. But they hadn’t found anything. Ethan sensed something trying to hide its essence and it grew frustrated and panicked. He warned his men just as, with a powerful blast, two of the creatures appeared in front of them, quickly followed by 3 more! All had red eyes with black dots and very sharp teeth! The one from last night came at him, disappeared and came up behind him. Ethan cut it on the neck and it immediately healed! Ten pureblood vampires were unable to take down the 5 creatures! Two of the creatures bit one of Ethan’s men and ripped his arm off! Another knocked Ethan down and he knew he was going to be killed. But suddenly Lycans arrived and the creatures fled. But there was worse to come! What were these things? How were they going to defeat them?
This was an amazing fast-action story that certainly kept the reader racing through the pages to keep up! The characters were very well-portrayed as the reader is given an understanding of the supernaturals’ powers and the human’s strengths and weaknesses. Aside from the mystery of what these powerful creatures are and their purpose, there is a love story brewing between a vampire and human. There are rules and warnings against this. Will Ethan try to break the rules? Will he give up on the human he cannot resist? And will the supernaturals be able to defeat the growing evil? You do not want to miss this one! Lock your doors and grab your book for a wild ride!

This was such an amazing read. A whole new take on vampires and the magic that surrounds them. Ethan was such a deep character. There were so many layers to him. With each page I just fell more in love with him. At first, Brooke came off a little naïve. But that wasn't the case at all. She also was way more than she first appears to be. The chemistry between them was instant. But it wasn't just the physical. They had such an intense and emotional love for one another. That alone would get them through anything together. The story was fast paced and showed such talent in the art of creating a fantasy world to get lost in. Loved it!

If your a fan of vampire romance stories then your going to love this one, it’s an exciting story full of action, suspense, danger, passion and so much more to keep you entertained and turning the pages. There is something out there killing humans and Ethan who is a vampire has been sent out to find out what’s going on, he ends up watching a human who he has fallen for and Ethan ends up saving her life from one of those creatures. Brooke is trying to complete her residency but her supervisor is always giving her a hard time then she meets Ethan who just started to work there, but he is a vampire and she is human can it work out and will Ethan break all of the rules to be with Brooke a human?. Fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Wow, excellent paranormal romantic suspense with vampires, werewolves, mages, fae and demons. Ethan is a vampire who has been drawn to a human, Brooke. Danger is occurring that is attacking humans and vampires an epic battle is coming. Brooke is working hard at her residency but is struggling due to her supervisors dislike of her. The characters and storyline keep you focused on getting to the end as quickly as possible. This is a unique story about the origin and abilities of vampires. I received a complementary copy of this book via Booksprout and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Night.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Beloved: Legends of the Vampires by Emma Night reads as stand alone. I enjoyed this read. This sweet and spicy read is action packed and feels like an awesome start to something new. The characters are interesting and have hot chemistry. The monsters are real and I don't mean the vampires and lycans. There is drama, angst, love, lust, betrayal, horror and redemption. Add an emotional rollercoaster ride and you have everything you need to make this a great way to spend a few hours.

Beloved by Emma Night is part of the Legends of the Vampires series. In this book, a doctor named Brooke Peters meets a vampire named Ethan when he rescues her from an attacker in an alleyway. This is the beginning of their surprising and unusual relationship. This book is full of suspense, mystery, and adventure that had me turning page after page as fast as I could read them. I loved reading this sensual and mysterious vampire romance.

Very enjoyable and entertaining read. Plenty of intrigue, suspense, action, and of course steamy romance to keep you hook from beginning to end the. Not sure if this is a new series but hopefully it is. Overall a good read. What a awesome love story! Ethan was a good camp who with his brother and father are what is called purebloods, others are turnbloods,...Ethan meets Brooke a human who pulls at his heart. But there's trouble brewing and he's not sure he should get involved with her. Definitely recommend it...it's really good.

This is no way a perfect book, but I still have a pretty good time while I listened to the audiobook. With that being said, there are something that I like and I hate about this book.
What I like:
➤ The storyline is interesting
➤ Dual POV — we get to see both of their perspectives
➤ Ethan comes from a powerful background and manages to not become an a-hole (I know it’s a bare minimum, but still)
➤ The inner conflict Ethan has, is the longing I look for in a book
What I don’t like:
➤ Ethan and Brooke just keep lusting for each other. While I enjoy spicy scenes, it sometimes feels a bit forced
➤ Brooke gives me a vibe of ‘I’m not like the other girls’ with how she describes herself
➤ The resolution of their relationship is underwhelming
➤ Brooke is pretty stupid for being reluctant to leave Ethan even after knowing he's a vampire. I'm sorry, Miss. But, you're a freaking human.
➤ They jump too fast from ‘Hi’ to “Forever’
Basically, I feel unsatisfied with the ending.

This book is entrancing and I read it without stopping. Ethan and Brooke had chemistry that was more than just lust. Ethan is a vampire, 2nd son of the clan leader. He is tasked with finding a murder that kills like a vampire, but smells like a shifter, is brutal and hard to kill. Brooke Peters is a first year resident as a cardiac surgeon. She watched as her mother was murdered by a feral vampire when she was a young child. Of course, everyone thought she was affected by the murder and her age. When they meet, the draw between them was unbelievable. This is so good and if you like vampires, you won't want to miss this one. There is an unconditional friendship, betrayal, love, lust, magic, acceptance, kidnapping, with vampires, shifters, demons and other magic wielders. I loved this book. I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.

This book reminded me of Twilight…a lot, which isn’t always a bad thing. The more I read, the more I just found myself constantly annoyed at Brooke, who just wasn’t super interesting. Her general dialogue and problems just generally felt self centered and out of touch—kind of like watching people talk on the bachelor or bachelorette…I just personally could not enjoy it. I wish the dialogue between characters was more witty and less repetitive, emulating more mature story writing techniques. I’m not an author of course, so what do I know…but this is my review and my thoughts. The Twilight story and character setup is fine-it’s a tried and true format that is comfortable to read. However, I did not enjoy how it was applied here. It ended up feeling too cliche, and almost like they took the qualities of Twilight characters and just exaggerated them way too much.
I’m reading mostly good reviews, so this book must work for some people? Not for me though, I will move on.

The author has given us wonderful characters that share their thoughts and emotions with us. Each of these stories keep us turning the page because of so many twists and turns. Brooke, an intern, meets Ethan, a vampire, when he saves her from a shifter. They have an immediate connection but each must overcome their fears in order to have a relationship.

If you are a fan of vampire stories, then this is the box set for you. The story will keep you interested till the end to see what happens. The story is full of suspense, action, romance, vampires, and great chemistry. Look forward to reading more from this author.

Vampire and Doctor
Audiobook version.
Not my favorite style of story. Narrator did well, no weird background noises but several strange pronunciations. JP
