The storyline moves ever so slowly with way, way, too much minutiae. The majority of these first three books deal with day, by day, of a teenager at high school. So many blanks in conversations go unchallenged. Nothing really ever happens. The story is told from a single character perspective, and that perspective is frankly very boring. I personally regret investing my time in a story that hasn’t gone anywhere. Do yourself a favor and read something else. I wished I had...
I went into reading this with the expectations that it would be Twightesc but was never more confused and annoyed by anything in my reading career . The entire book repeats itself and I mean paragraphs repeat at nauseam as well as the characters who act like Ambers best friends yet cause her so much anger and treat her like dirt. There are hints that the entire town is involved as vampires or werewolves with glowing eyes and Ambers new stepdad story was never explained about why he has a knife for hunting and a box of mysterious items or states out at the backyard for no apparent reason. He dragged a suitcase outside for what I'm the middle of the night? The friends all do things that are extremely verbally abusive to Amber yet she keeps going out with them. With the repeated conversations with Amber and every character, the mother that is just completely crazy and letting her daughter out at all hours with murderers running around i was seriously happy to finish this book. It's just a horrible waste of time with at least a third of the book pointless and can be left out for a quicker read. Disappointing and an utter waste of a week and half of my time.
Phenomenal commitment w/o any payoff, ULTRA frustrating! The books are filled with allusions and hints, suspicions of intrigue and mystery without resolutions, cinnamon candies may cause a reaction for some Forks residents, some of their eyes may or may not glow, one minute a character has a crush by the next book the crush is gone, he may or may not be dead her grieving is intermittent and inconsistent. There’s a side plot that the profoundly pathetic and stupid mother (Amber’s) has a very sexual relationship with her (suspicious sheriff) fiancé and the same scene is repeatedly over and over. We get it, she doesn’t want to hear the TMI. People are all acting weird, inexplicably. I committed to all three in the hopes of a satisfying conclusion where none was to be had. I wish I’d just stopped from the first book. The writing itself is perfectly serviceable but this trilogy is in desperate need of editing to build an actual workable plot, have some kind of climax, and resolution. All in all it really really needs an editor to take copious notes to help the plodding story move forward.

I couldn't stop reading this, I just had to know what happens. Does it follow the original vampire tale from Forks or does it follow its' own path. Really enjoyed finding out but I think it got long in some places. I think this could've wrapped up in 2 books and not dragged through to a 3 book set. I really found the character's quirks and personalities fun and realistic to a degree. The story brought lots of images in my mind and love that quality in a book. Once you get through the slower parts this is a great read and has its' own life.
I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy Forks, but I'm so glad I took a chance. I really liked books one, two and three. I'm now in search of book 4. The characters were well defined. The mystery continued through all three books. Twilight fans will find Forks and the Twilight references familiar, but don't let this stop you if you know nothing about Twilight. You can still enjoy these books. Happy reading!
The series is really good. If the writer or publisher reads these reviews, please have someone proofread and then update the books. At times it was hard to follow with some words in the wrong places and spellchecker not noticing it would be a real word but not the intended word/words. I hope the next book is gone through pretty good before it is released.
It was hard for me to get into this trilogy. The characters were underdeveloped and not very likable or relatable. Perhaps it is solely for the tween audience because I was expecting more. Also, there wasn't really a resolution to many of the questions posed and I guess that's because the writer wants people to keep reading to find out? Regardless, I just didn't really enjoy it.
It's a good story, but poor editing. Wish it was progressing faster I feel we should have more answers to the mysteries going on, but whatever. Also one other pet peeve besides the editing is if I read one more time that "E" is the bear that Ken gave her ill probably scream.
Great Book I love it it was great and powerful and cute I love it I think that you will find out that you might love this book too Thank You For Letting Me Read This Book I love 💘💘💘💘💘
I really enjoyed this book. I was dream in by the story, sense of humor, and characters and would love to read more! The way it's written, you'd have almost thought the author of the Twilight series had a hand in these books here and there.
I'm not normally into young adult stories, especially ones about werewolves or vampires, but no matter how hokey it should be, I couldn't stop reading. Wonderful characters and imaginative story. Can't wait for the next one!
