If you like hot, rugged shifters who can’t resist sassy, head-strong women, then “Bear’s Temptation” is the book for you. Join this Beta on his way to redemption by giving in to his mate.
All “Hoopole Bear’s” installments can be read as standalones, with the happy ending guaranteed!
Lisa is a struggling journalist, but getting this job could be her big break, but she’s heard this man is so rude!!! Hoping it’s just his PR hyping him up, Lisa goes to interview him.
Boy were they right!!! Rude and arrogant (but kind of hot) she gets a story from him (think 50 shades) and thinks that is the last time she will see him.....
Darren really can’t be doing with people (especially humans) he’s a bear shifter, beta to the little group he lives with. He’s not a sociable person (he really is a grumpy bear) he only just gets along with his group. We have met Darren before (A Bear of her own)
We get the feeling Darren is hiding something, you also get the feeling he was hurt. Wether as a child or as an adult.
He isn’t interested in Lisa, found her annoying (but cute) hopes he’s seen the last of her....
Neither Darren or Lisa get their wish. Her boss wants more of a personal angle, and Darren’s alpha wants her watching. Then when Lisa goes to Darren’s home, she gets more than she bargains for.....
Great ..... after saving her life Darren gets his picture taken on her phone. His alpha isn’t pleased, so sends Darren out to either but the journalists silence or the picture.
The story progresses and we have Darren and Lisa sort of liking each other. Darren doesn’t really trust Lisa. And Lisa would love to run this story, but for some reason she just can’t send the story and the picture to her boss.
Will Lisa uncover all the shifter secrets? And will Darren open all the way up and tell her his past? And the stray shifters in the town, will they need a place to stay? Or are they on a more sinister agenda?

This was a lovely reas. The 2nd in series but all can beread as stand alones. Lovely characters that have been created. Love the plot and story line. Really enjoyable read th twists and turns to keep you turning pages. Recommend reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
I’m not sure about this book it took along time to get going and when it did I’m still not sure what it was really about shifters I think and so that made the story hard to follow. Darren Roberson is an investor and a bear shifter and he is very good at his job but he doesn’t mix well with others but more so with women he has trust issues and is very rude and cold but that’s just him protecting himself. Then he meets Lisa a journalist in a interview that gets way out of hand and harsh words are spoken on both sides but when it’s all over they walk away wondering what had happened and why they feel drawn to each other. Now Lisa’s boss Thomas wants her to write about shifters in the area but she knows nothing about topic having just moved here but once she is intrigued she starts searching and things start to change around her and it goes like this throughout the book not really getting anywhere and telling you nothing. By the end you get some answers but overall not a very thought out story line. I voluntarily read an arc copy of this book for an honest review.
This is the second book in the series and it takes you back to the same town where things may be calm right now, but with a feisty new reporter and some new shifters in town things won't stay that way for long. Darren may be rough, gruff, and cold, but it's all a facade he uses to protect himself from the horrors of his past. When Lisa, the new reporter in town, is sent to interview him, the two clash, but they have a strong attraction for each other. Darren finds himself unable to stop thinking about Lisa, somehow she's gotten under his skin, and when on patrol one night, he appears just in time to save her. Lisa's world is rocked when she discovers that shifters are real. This could be her big break, but she can't bring herself to hurt Darren. Despite her boss forcing her to write certain stories, things are going well for Lisa and Darren, until they realize she's only a pawn in a much bigger scheme to get back at Darren. Danger and desire fill this story as Darren and Lisa fight for their lives and their love realizing just in the nick of time the strength they get from each other.
Darren is a wealthy business owner & beta to the Hoopole bear clan. He's cold & distant from everyone. Lisa is a reporter fairly new to town & her boss schedules her to do an interview with Darren. She gets the interview done after lots of sniping back & forth between them. She researches after the interview once her boss tells her that he wants her to do a series on Darren & finds references to him being a shifter. She wants to pursue the research & she's warned off with an attempt on her life. She's saved by a bear & realizes it is Darren. She doesn't know that she's just a pawn in a much bigger scheme, & Darren realizes this about the same time that he begins to think she might be his mate.
The characters are developed & the story is action packed. This is a good story, but something was missing for me. I was not a big fan of Darren & felt his character could have been more in depth. There is a HEA.
I hadn't read a shifter story in a while, plus this is a new to me author, so thought I would give this one a try and I'm so glad I did!
Darren is a bear shifter who is also a successful business man and puts on a very cold and rude front to keep people away from him. That way no one can find out his secret. What he didn't expect was to run into Lisa, a journalist who is after a story and is determined to find out what HIS story is!! I loved their initial reactions to each other, he was so rude but she gave as good as she got! lol
It soon becomes clear, though, that she is his fated mate and he does all he can to protect her but danger just seems to follow her! The story moved along nicely and I enjoyed it!!
ONE AWESOME TREAT!!! Oh man, one spiraling eddy of stunning mishaps and surprising triggers that thrust all of your spinning emotions exploding to life wonderfully. Fay hits pay dirt when she lays out this baby so skillfully and precise. One riveting storyline and impressive plot showcase all the trials and tribulations along with a few striking twists that propel this bad boy to a whole new level. The characters are authentic, alluring and so realistic with depth and qualities that blend fluidly. The scenes are written with such realism it makes for one impressive backdrop. Amazing job Fay, thanks for sharing this little baby with us.
sweet temptation, and annoying romance, come in many different forms and persons,
sometimes the one you lust for, and could maybe love, is really annoying, and ticks you off no end.
mysteriously, that is sometimes a huge turn on.
for all the ones you have loved to be annoyed by, this one's for you for coming through at times when it really counts - despite still being annoying and hot !
This book was a disappointment from Chapter One. The storyline and the artistic representation of the characters is good. However, the conformity to grammatical rules was appalling. Chapter 24, I feel, was exceptionally the best example of the fact. My recommendation is to go back to school because you have a lot of talent that is not presented correctly to your readers.
It is a good read specially on a rainy day. But the thing I was not able to get over was ,when it came down to the conversation between Darren and Lisa was having it was to much of a repetition of he felt and how she felt to much back and forth of the same. No disrespect to the author and this doesn't discourage me from reading the next book of this series either , I am up to thenext book.
Fay Walsh has gifted us with another delightful shifter story. It’s got a great storyline; characters you can love—and love to hate; pretty cool twists and turns; and a kickass HEA. This is an easy read, with lots of the “good” stuff. Definitely add this one to your TBR. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and really liked it.) ❤️
I liked the book and the characters. The storyline was good. It was nice to see that the girl was not a total wimp and had some strength to her. The problem and the reason I couldn't give 5 stars was because I found numerous grammatical errors which made the storyline hard to follow in some instances.
A really entertaining and gripping story. Darren and Lisa made a strong couple with great chemistry even if they were rude to each other at the beginning. An exciting storyline with plenty of action.
Bear’s Temptation by Fay Walsh is a interesting paranormal romance with lots of twists and turns and a happy ever after ending. I loved reading this book and looking forward to reading the next
Including lions and wolves too. This is a quick easy read and you will like it if you enjoy easy reading shifter romance. The editing is not great, there are lots of misspellings and typos which I found somewhat distracting.
I truly enjoyed reading this book, however there were WAY too many grammatical errors that it became distracting! The author really does need to get someone to edit her work!
Good storyline for an afternoon reading experience. But while a good story in itself I did not care for a lot of the repeating dialogue or the lack of adult conversation. It seemed almost juvenile. 3 1/2*
I absolutely love the story. Watching Duncan' and Lisa find their way together And the trials they had to go through was absolutely fun and fabulous a recommended read.
