The main subject of the book is to speak about common obsessions in a very light and humouristic way in order to help the readers deal with them and accept them as part of who they are. Each chapter speaks for a different category of "obsessions" e.g. organisation, jealousy, authority etc., starting with a funny (or supposed to be funny) and extreme fictional story and then discuses it for the rest of the chapter, again in a humorous manner.

In total the light writing style made the reading quite pleasant, while -at least in the way I experienced it- I kept looking forward the end of each chapter to go and read the starting story of the next one. However, there are some things that in my humble opinion could have been executed better. So here is a list with weak (again, in my personal opinion) points:

- Some of the stories weren't funny, they were in fact sad. Some of them really sad. They weren't just extreme examples of obsessions that "someone can accept that he has and can live with them", as the title suggests, but rather serious problems that someone needs to get help to get over.

- You cannot (and must not) make jokes about everything. This is connected to the previous point and has to do with the way those extreme examples are commented in the book. As an example there is a chapter speaking about jealousy, where in the story there is a jealous husband secretly following his wife and asking everyone she visited if she flirted with them i.e. shop owners, waiters, doctors etc. (the same time that we keep hearing about murders of women from jealous partners...) There is another chapter with someone pretending to be a doctor just to feel important. Those are mental cases that can cause major harm. It feels like the authors trust too much the readers' judgement, but personally that made me feel uncomfortable. People with such issues should not be able to find any book speaking lightly about their behaviour and implying in any way that they should accept it. There should be bold capital red letters clarifying that this is serious and they should get some help. Or this is the only way I would personally feel comfortable reading those examples in any book.

- There were some very common obsessions (and pretty much harmless ones) that could match the concept of the book way better. E.g. the extreme fear of getting sick (also very timely!), the obsession with the right use of the language, etc. I can think of a full list of little cute harmless obsessions (only looking at my close environment haha) that would serve the purpose of the book better.

Concluding, although I found the idea behind the book very intriguing and felt that it had great potential, I was in many cases disappointed by the execution. To be fair, there are many funny, useful and pointful things discussed in the book, but given the discussed weaknesses, in a world that tones of books get published everyday this was not - in my opinion - outstanding.
