A Mistaken Marriage Match: A Generation of Military Counselor

Rate this book
She is an honorably retired SWAT officer with meritorious deeds and is a dashing detective who solves cases like a god.

One day, a strange golden board with eight divinatory trigrams brings her to a different world, where she is bestowed as a gift to a general’s manor.

He is a grim god of war whose power overwhelms six countries and the defender-general of the state with military power in his hands. An imperial edict brought him a delicate concubine. He turned and left. After returning, his second in command and soldiers ignored him. Instead, they kept on saying, “What does madam think?”

When has the general’s manor changed its owner?

Solving cases, training soldiers, night attacks, suppressing bandits, street fights, counter-terrorism operations, naval battles – one after another appeared on stage. She played with flourish, yet he was unable to resist even a little.

It was a total power fantasy kind of book with the heroine being just all sorts of kick ass and trumping everyone in the story, but it was well done and fun!

The reason why it lost a star for me was because the military training dragged on too much for me at times and also MY OT3 S O BS.

No, really, the heroine was a great character although the beginning was a bit eye-rolling with how stubborn and prickly both she and the male lead were. But once they acknowledged their feelings for each other halfway through then it was smooth sailing.

Oh, another reason why this rates so highly for me is because Ao Tian IS THE BEST SECOND MALE LEAD EVER. I'm so devastated at how we don't get a resolution for him and he's just been silently protecting and helping the heroine since the beginning. Ugh, my heart.

The MC is strong, smart and agile with experience in crime solving and with the ability to train special forces skills. This is a different twist on a transmigration story for a female. This makes it interesting. Her character does not lose out in the male dominated historic era.

The storyline kept my interest from the unusual way she transmigrated that is not the typical “drop dead in the modern world and revive in ancient history in the body of an oppressed, weak victim.” She starts strong and stays strong throughout the story. The other characters have enough detail to make them relevant to the storyline.

This is one of several books about the lives of three sisters from a minor country who were forced into marriage in families from the dominant country. The series is titled “A Mistaken Marriage Match: …”

It’s a quick read with long chapters. Worth reading once.

Overall really enjoyed it, cracked through it in a couple of days.

- FL was a badass but oblivious of love. Really liked the premise that she's a special forces commando type and she transmigrated ending up in the general's manor
- I like that 2 of them transmigrated and at the beginning the FL is trying to find her friend
- The author forgot to give the ML a personality so i had SLS half the time.
- Ao Tian was a respectful and resigned SML so ultimately tragic
- Could have done with more of the friendship btw the

A great read to anyone that likes to see gender roles challenged and successfully supported. (granted the ML acts like a t**d for some of the interactions) for general book details read the book blurb. I personally prefer some fan translations, they can be more intersting in their interpretation of the character's wording so search them out.

I will typically read this again after a few years.

The first half was really fun. It dragged a bit near the end but not too bad. A clean, sweet, transmigration novel and not too insanely long.

If you want to read a total badass MC, with a high ranking experience and knowledge in military art and strategy, and a pinch of romance, then this is for you.

This book really entertained me and gave me exciting feelings when reading. Salute to the MC for her brilliance.
