122 RULES: REDEMPTION is the second book in the 122 Rules series, but can be read as a standalone. Erebus, the creeptastic psychopath, is back for another round of killings, this time in Alabaster Cove in the Pacific Northwest. He has his sights set on Monica, who has foiled his evil plans in the past. This time, he’s determined to kill her, even if it means getting through her bad-ass best friend, Angel, and secret agent, the hero of the story, Sam Bradford.
Sam uses his training, including the 122 Rules of Psychology, to plan his moves and track down the psycho killer. But Erebus is on a tear, a madman desperate for his target, the beautiful law student Monica. Sometimes the rules need to be broken.
Sam, Erebus, and Monica have a history that needs to be resolved, one way or another, in the small town of Alabaster Cove. A bridge has taken out the only exit to the town, so the three of them are stuck there, on each other’s trails, in a game of cat and mouse with the highest stakes ever. If Sam and Monica don’t get to Erebus before he gets to them, it’s game over.
122 RULES: REDEMPTION is a fast-paced, quirky, thriller that will keep you entertained from start to finish. Written in Erebus and Sam’s POVs, there’s not a dull moment throughout. Mr. Rhew has a fun, casual style of writing and keeps the story light, considering the subject matter. I could picture the story as a graphic novel. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a witty, enjoyable read and an action-packed, refreshing take on serial killer novels!
