I’m just waiting on the day my true form is revealed. I know I’m not supposed to be one of this earth lmao. I don’t even know how to explain what it is I just read… just know book 2 is going to be some ISH. Secret identities, family secrets, mess…. So much mess…

I’ve ready about vampire peen, then there was ghost peen and even werewolf peen. Now I get to indulge in underwater dragon creature peen! Whew 😅 I’m intrigued 😂… I really enjoyed the way Zambezi and Shore’s relationship developed! There are so many questions that need answers and I’m ready to dive into book two!

This was such a gooooood story.....it also made me laugh! I Loved the back and forth banter between Zambezi and his brother Babe (I think that's his name)....The dynamic between Shore and her fairy sister (once she started to understand her power) was really cute. Although, I really didn't understand Lake's behavior, and I guessing that will be addressed in the next book along with Zambezi & Babe father's behavior and decision take Babe from his mother Jewell.....there are a few other things....The narrations was really great, especially Sean Crisden, he is always an amazing narrator that really brings any story to life...I'm excited for the next installment of this story.

EXCELLENT hands down 10⭐
One of the BEST paranormal novels I have read thus far. I swear from the beginning to end as I was reading I could picture and have visions of everything I was reading like I was watching a movie. Who would have thought Laguna was still alive and now she about to create more damage then what Adwoah had. Why I feel like Lake the reef sister have a thing for Zambezi that's why she always have an attitude. Now I'm sitting here just imagining how powerful would Zambezi and Shore child would be if they had one, crazy right. I surely can't wait for part 2 to see what drama and dilemma unfolds. Phenomenal read GREAT WORK!!!

Emotional Damage !!
This book absolutely took me through it! This fast-paced fantasy brilliantly balances intense emotional depth with high-stakes supernatural romance.
I loved the unique coming-of-age twist with Shore. Her worsening epilepsy turns out to be a massive, magical transformation tied to terrifying visions.
Enter Zambezi the protective, brooding hero trying so hard to resist falling in love while keeping her safe. When they finally give in to each other, the spice is scorching (and yes, that wildly unique vibrating tongue detail completely lives up to the hype! 🥵🔥).
Beyond the romance and magic, the heavy subplot about her mother's battle with alcohol addiction and denial grounded the book in raw, realistic heartbreak. It's a deeply emotional, action-packed rollercoaster that I couldn't put down.
Highly recommend!

*audiobook* the narrators did an outstanding job bringing this story to life- you couldn’t tell me it wasn’t a full cast. I liked the story as a whole, there’s a lot of characters and secrets uncovered in the story. I am eager to listen to the second book.

This is interesting…
It’s like The Little Mermaid meets the hood 🤣🤣
There are a lot of twists and turns and it moves kind of slow but it’s definitely interesting. You have a lot Princess who doesn’t know who she is or her power. She’s meets a “lost” a Prince who is tethered to her from birth unbeknownst to them. Now, they have to figure out how to defeat an enroll that wants to rule with fear.

The story was fast-paced. The character I found myself most drawn to was Shore’s mama. I would’ve loved to see more scenes with her in it.

Okay to follow but it's still reading like a first try…. Weird and choppy for most of the read. The author struggled getting this to flow together for me. I thought this would've been better seeing this isn't the first paranormal read the author has but it was still the same. Okay to follow but it's still reading like a first try. 7/10/2019 14:19

“The lake seemed like it understood me for some reason.”
If you are looking for duology paranormal romance to get into with Black magical creatures then this may by your next read!
-based in the DMV
-fated mates
-“coming of age” sheltered 20 y/o FMC
-flirtatious asshole 21 y/o MMC
-epilepsy representation
-found family
-funny, conversational banter
-well written
-8/10 audiobook
-complicated family dynamics
-magical lake
-lovable secondary characters
-immersive world building
-addiction awareness
-sea devils, water fairies, water dragons & more
-descriptive spice
-multiple POVs
This was an easily engaging, fast paced novel.
I was immediately locked in off the first chapter.
I enjoyed the slow burn love story between Shore & Zambezi & the relatable characters and storylines woven throughout the plot.
This was a different spin on “fated mates” tropes that I usually see in romantasy. & I am not mad at it all. I am already ready to hop into book II!
Natavia is hands down my favorite paranormal romance author.

Wow!!
Idk where to begin! Natavia is a beast with the pen. This story displayed her multi-dimensions and her natural ability to write! I loved Shore and The Fairies!!! They were all so different, and they stuck together. Bay and Zam were true alpha males, but their father really rubbed me the wrong way. He had me wishing he’d die lol
Overall, this was by far one of the best paranormal reads I’ve read in awhile! I thoroughly loved the back story of each character and the pure originality. If I could give this book 10 stars I would!!!!!! Pleaseeeee hurry with part 2. ❤️❤️

Such an amazing paranormal read. I'm diving right into book 2. This story follows a mother that has memory loss and has turned into an alcoholic, and her daughter that suffers from severe seizures. Something is pulling at both of them, but they must first give in to get answers to the unusual things that are happening to them. This has plenty of spice, romance, violence, and it's just an all around great story.

This surely wasn’t the little mermaid at all. Shore FMC has lots to learn about her seizures. Living in poverty and with an alcoholic mother. Drama and confusion, hot mess, secrets on land and sea.
I am looking forward to book 2 to see what is going to happen next.

3.75 🌟
I enjoyed this book, it was entertaining and kept my attention. The multiple pov and non linear narrative was good. The characters while mystical were relatable and realistic.
The mermaids here are sea fairies, as we follow our fmc in her journey of finding her history and who she is and stepping into her power, all while finding love within her fated mate.
A story of a young fairy that has to rise to her power to fight off the even sea witch in a urban novel.
I will say the pacing was a little off, it was very fast paced, to the point that it felt like key details and the necessary build of emotions was missing that would help you to understand the feelings and dynamics of the characters. Stuff was just happening, quickly, and without reason.
but it was still entertaining enough to read. I will continue on to book 2

It was okay...
It was a cute little story about water people.. the sex scenes were very passionate!!! I hope Shore and all her reef sisters work out the jealousy issues... the end turned me off! I feel like we spent the entire book waiting for a big battle and then the dad guy gets his strength and then comes and kills her immediately. Lame! It’s the reason I only gave 3 stars. I was hoping for some huge drawn out battle, but nope! It ended in just a few paragraphs. Other than that it was a quick read ... felt a bit drawn out, especially when you get to the end and it just ENDS... I understand not knowing if Shore is pregnant and other cliffhangers since there will be a finale, but I honestly don’t think I’ll be anxious to find and read it...
It was a good book, but it could have been better :)

Sea creatures
This book was very rushed and some parts felt like it was missing. One moment they would be fussing then another scene with them going to the market would appear I’m like what?? Then Shore would be talking in one chapter and by the end Zambezi would be talking at the end of her chapter confusing me more. This wasn’t her best and idk if I’ll read the finale. The errors were throughout the book also.

had potential
this storyline had amazing potential but I feel it wasn't executed properly. This was a suggested paranormal and heard RAVE reviews about the author. This book read like a newbie author. These characters spoke like 15 year Olds. The storyline was really good even though I felt like there were a lot of unanswered questions and connections being made that I felt was unnecessary.

More like 3.5 stars
The only reason why I rated this book a 3.5 is tat it should have been a standalone. I’m trying to push through but I’m tired of all of these people. I realize that they’re very young but the immaturity and lack of control is too much for me. I plan to stay with it out of curiosity more or less but it’s tough.

Not my cup of tea
I liked the idea of the characters’ abilities and strengths... but that was about it. The ending lacked depth, the characters lacked depth. Sadly, this story was anything but Deep.

Water Fairies. Sea Dragons. Ocean Demons?! Yeah… this book SNAPPED.
OBSESSED.
Let’s talk characters:
Zambezi? A walking tidal wave.
Shore? Smooth, savage, and secretly sweet.
Giva? Stop playin with her.
And Reef? My fairy sis forever—period.
Oceana? Glad to see her gettin' back to herself.
But Laguna? Girl, the second she popped up, I knew she was bringing problems. Salty, sneaky, jealous... the entire villain starter pack. And now she's back from the dead?! Oh, we’re in for a storm.
I swear I wasn't just reading—I was VISUALLY living it. Every chapter played like a high-budget fantasy film in my head. I could smell the saltwater, feel the tension, and hear the wings fluttering mid-battle. Movie-level scenes, no exaggeration.
Now let’s get messy:
Why do I feel like Lake is lowkey in her feelings about Zambezi? Always mad, always pressed… sis, just say you want him! And don’t get me started on my random thought: What if Shore and Zambezi had a baby?! That child would literally shift the oceans. Somebody write that spinoff NOW.
The backstories? Chef’s kiss. The originality? UNMATCHED. The plot twists? Came out of nowhere and slapped me every time.
Also… Bay and Zam = top-tier alpha energy. But their dad? Trash. Big trash. I was praying on his downfall by Chapter 5.
Bottom line? This book was a whole experience. Gritty, magical, dramatic as hell—and I ate up every second. If I could rate it 20 stars, I would, and then demand a TV deal.
I gotta get into part two soon. I need more smoke, more secrets, and way more fairie mayhem. Let’s GO!
