The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. In this woman’s action adventure, with an explosive psychic twist, USA Today bestselling author Fiona Quinn takes her reader into a world of international crime, terror, spies, and resistance networks. Almost a decade ago, Prescott, an ex-special forces operator, was boots on the ground in his new role with the FBI’s Critical Incidence Response Group, searching for his childhood friend Kaylie after she disappeared from her research camp in Nigeria without a trace.
Now, the NSA thinks they’ve identified Kaylie’s image in Syria. Prescott turns to Iniquus Puzzler, Lynx, to help him prove that the picture and the missing scientist are one and the same. If the NSA is right, this woman has days to live. The clock is ticking.
Lynx struggles to make progress finding Kaylie who may well be alive but is in a region where women are invisible behind their veils. Complicating the search, Lynx is fighting her own crisis. A psychic maelstrom thunders through her system. Her husband, Ranger Angel Sobado, killed by an IED two years ago, has gone to Hell and is begging Lynx to save him. Before she can marry Striker, Lynx needs her husband to rest in peace.

Lynx is back SQUEEEEEEEEE the excitement... I have been waiting forever... forever for book 5 in this amazingly awesome series and here it is... The anxiety building up to this release was immense I had so many questions I was waiting for an answer for and then not sure I really wanted the answers because omg what if this was true or what if that happened... I swear I have no nails left as I chewed them all down in the days leading up to release day!!!! and then it was there... Gulf Lynx in my kindle the build-up the excitement the anxiety had me hesitating to turn the first page but in the end I just had to know everything and I was not disappointed, in fact I was immensely happy, by the end of the book even after the heart-stopping breath-taking moments, the scary action and treacherous adventure it was all worth it for the ending... the most amazing ending with such an epic story surrounding it this is one of those stories and one of those series that will stick in my mind and heart forever.
I love that Lynx is back and ready for action, ready to save the world and ready to put to bed some demons and nightmares to move forward with her life... Striker as always is right by Lynx's side as are the rest of her team and I love them all they are more than family they really are extra special the way they have each other's backs regardless.
The story was jam-packed with twist and turns, information and mindblowing scenes the descriptive writing brought it all together for me and linked everything to the brilliant ending. I honestly can't recommend this book enough Fiona Quinn is an amazing author.
Gulf Lynx The Lynx series, Book 5 Fiona Quinn, author
Simply amazing! Intellectual storyline and plot augmentation! In depth character development!
It is always a pleasure to return to the world of Iniquus. An elite group of professional men and women whom strive to rescue Americans taken hostage by the enemy before their ultimate demise. However, this novel is about Lexi Sobado and her quest to put an end to the two year long nightmares she has been having since loosing her own military hero, her husband, Angel Sobado. Of course, the story could not only be about Lexi and her quest. There also has to be a case for her to solve. Using her special mindful skill set, Lexi sets out to do just that, solving unanswered questions about her nightmares and the case presented to her by FBI Special Agent Prescott.
This psychological thriller was so well thought out and written with such ingenuity. It is full of mind-boggling scenarios that will keep the reader agglutinated to the end. I highly recommend this book. I was gifted an advanced reader copy from the author. I leave this review voluntarily.
Lynx has been suffering for 2 yrs over her late husband the hold he had on her. For the last 2 weeks though she has hit rock bottom till someone came in needing her help finding someone in the middle east, but when that was done she found information that should have shocked her but surprisingly didnt and then and there she knew she had another mission before she could go home.
Lynx has been tortured more than anyone else, physically tortured, mentally tortured and spiritually tortured....I am not sure how she is still functioning...at all. I love how her mind works and the connections she sees but the suffering that has been forced upon her is the stuff of nightmares. However, as haunting as it is....you cannot put it down! I read this in one sitting and whilst I did see the twist coming, it did not spoil my enjoyment as I was still eager to see how it would be explained and incorporated into the ongoing plotline. A fantastic read on Kindle Unlimited.
OMG! I just finished reading Gulf Lynx....mind blown!! I've loved all the books in the Lynx series and this story delivered all of the answers that Lexi Sobado had been seeking for the past 2 years.
I loved everything about this book! I pride myself on always figuring out a full storyline before the end of a book, not with this one! The plot twists and action were non stop. Do yourself a favor...pick up a Fiona Quinn book. Better yet, read this series! Laura D
It seems like I've been waiting for this book forever & it really did not disappoint. Fiona Quinn is a great storyteller, she's able to bring life to her characters with such ease. Explosive plotlines, tense action & tortured souls are in abundance in Gulf Lynx. Just fabulous! 5*
Lynx is at it again. I can not wait to read the next book. Until then I will just need to read this on again. Make sure I did not miss anything. Action and suspense on just about every page.
Author Fiona Quinn is masterful at creating characters that you can easily picture and the stories are just entertaining and adventurous with seemingly accurate details of this dark world and the people who strive to keep mankind safe.
Lynx’s dreaming nightmares pale beside the day-mares to come.
I am not a fan of thrillers that focus on the romance element, but I have read the Lynx series with not just complete satisfaction, but with a constant hunger for more. I read the books one-after-the other, and kept a stack of books by other favourite authors at bay. I have never done “binge” reading by a single author for five novels.
Each of the previous Lynx novels have dug deeper and deeper into the psychic / clairvoyant universe. And now, the voice of Lynx’s dead husband is threatening her sanity.
This one has a lot less physical action compared to the previous ones. Even the Striker/Lynx interactions are marginalized. But like the earlier ones, Fiona Quinn has done research into some subject matter you won’t find in any other contemporary thrillers, and she keeps the different threads under her total control, and as before, her plotting never becomes boring or tedious or derivative of work done by others in this genre.
And while a reader has every reason to expect “romance” to be the theme that will draw female readers, Fiona Quinn works with a cast of the strongest female characters one is likely to find in any thriller. Yes, there are lots of intelligent, highly trained special forces “hunky” types, but the females more than hold their own. They make me think of Sigourney Weaver’s Ellen Ripley (Alien series) and Linda Hamilton’s Sarah Connor (Terminator franchise). This is a class of fully realized female characters who are as fascinating to watch when they are hurting and depressed, as they are when they find the inner strength to take the fight to an enemy that seems unstoppable.
This is a fantastic book about a young woman named Lynx whose husband (Angel) was killed by an IED in the Middle East. Even though she is now engaged to someone else (Striker) it seems Angel starts calling to her to rescue him from Hell! He knows she has some special psychic powers but she has no idea how to rescue him and sets out to discover what to do from other psychic friends. While doing this, her special powers are also called upon by a secret group called Iniquus that works to rescue people from around the world (and do other good deeds as well). A reknowned scientist (Dr. Laylie Street) has gone missing and has been declared dead after seven years, but is probably alive, having been captured by ISIS members, and is probably being passed around as a sex slave. Dr. Street has by now had three children who also need to be rescued as well. The book is simply fascinating as the author uses her research in religion and spirituality, science, and methods of war in a combination that captures the interest of her readers. There are shocking surprises. At the end of the book, the author has a wonderful list of all her Iniquus novels in chronological orders if a reader wants to read more about Lynx, Angel, Striker, and all kinds of interesting characters. I have read all the books in this series and absolutely highly recommend them. Each is well worth the purchase price.
Fiona Quinn has given us a book that has twists and turns that will have you going What!! Lexi is back but she’s having nightmares of her husband Angel who has been dead for 2 years and he’s asking for her help! Now Lexi and the Strike Team have a new mission… a researcher who’s been declared dead just may be alive and FBI agent Prescott needs Lexi’s help to save her. But it’s not just Kaylie that will need saving! With the help of Zoe and Sophia, Lexi just might be able to find the missing researcher. As Lexi moves through the motions of what she needs to do she finds out troubling information about what happened to her and needs to find a solution to save her sanity! A new Doctor just might be able to help Lexi with her problem with the help of the woman from a village Striker helped save! I recommend if you haven’t read the other books in this series to start with Book 1 of the Lynx series! All books in the Lynx series, Uncommon Enemies (Zoe and Sophia) and Strike Force are all interconnected! These books will make you want to read them all, they are all that irresistible!
This KU library selection brings the focus of the series' timeline back to Lynx, the puzzler who is assigned to Strike Force at Iniquus. The situation she faces is complex and confusing, ultimately a search for the truth, and that takes up most of the book. The story begins when Lexi is called into a meeting with the General and FBI agent Prescott. A childhood friend of Prescott was presumed dead in Africa after her team of scientists was attacked seven years earlier. But a woman was captured on film at a refugee camp in Syria who appears to be Kaylee. Prescott wants Lexi's help in determining if it's her. But Lexi is battling her own demons, with her dead husband's voice in her head and nightmares begging for help, saying he's in Hell and burning. Her journey to find the truth about Kaylee and about Angel will lead her to Puerto Rico and Aunt Abuela, to Wyoming, and to friends from her past. It will take everyone of them to unsnarl the tangle of information she must sort through if she's to save them both.
AMAZING!! Fiona Quinn has once again written a fabulous story. I truly enjoyed this is and captivating read. Lynx has been thru hell and back and needs some answers and help in a new and dangerous assignment with a bit of psychic paranormal thrown into the mix The characters are strong and devoted to one another. Was an exciting and crazy dark adventure. Tragic, twisted and haunting. The storyline is mind boggling and a bit scary and leaves you wondering, does this actually exist, can these things be done, wow?? You are hooked and drawn in as deeply as the characters themselves. I love a book that can do this to us. The author leaves no stone unturned and gives an immense amount of detail in every chapter. Incredible writing style. Fiona Quinn thank you so much for sharing these amazing stories.
Holy wow. This was so easy to read. Not the subject matter; that sometimes veered into some dark, uncharted waters. But more in the manner of “blink and you’ll miss it”. I was completely subsumed into the life and times of Lynx and the story was over before I was ready for it to be done. This book stands alone, but it’s definitely better having read at least some of the books that come before it to understand the people and dynamics. Now I have a ‘knowing’, and I’m going to need to re-read everything I’ve already read to figure out how I thought I already knew that before it was revealed in this one. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
This was an emotional adventure for our Lynx. Her dead husband has been begging her to save him from hell. What’s a girl to do? Is she going cray cray from her own near death experience or is he trying to lure her to hell? She consults experts to solve her problem while trying to help find a scientist and childhood friend of Preston who has been missing for 7 years and was presumed dead. A photo with a 67% match for shows her with a group of refugees in Syria. We get all of our Strike Force Team with a few extras thrown in. I truly enjoyed this book and look forward many more by Ms Quinn.
Loved it! Lots of action and the characters were just wonderful and so realistic. It was exciting and I hated to have it end, but I am looking forward to reading more by this author.
Wow, just wow! Jump into this fast paced continuation of Lynx's story. I was so caught up in story that I could hardly put it down. Fiona Quinn has a way of pulling you into the story that you feel like you are experiencing everything right along with her characters. This can be read as a standalone, but you won't be able to resist reading the rest of the Iniquuis books. This will become your new favorite series!
Excellent as usual. This book brought everything full circle, wow!! Love Lynx and Striker and full Strike Force Team. There is overlap of Panther Force but original team is my favorite. Still waiting for Spyder McGraw to come on the scene. Seeing Grandmother Sibyl (African protector of Striker) was great. Would love to read a book about her and her tribe. I cannot get enough of the psychic aspects and going behind the veil and clairvoyance scenes. Would love to see this series in film.
A woman heroine with mad skills heads up a rescue mission of psychic proportions. Too many twists and turns to want to mention any, but this book is NOT my typical genre to read, and I was totally engrossed in this dramatic play of action, emotion, and some paranormal skills. This is for the audio which is not released yet, that is well performed by the narrator. Get it!
Honestly I tried to keep an open mind reading this but when the story started to write about how Angel and Lexi were really destined for each other (as in in sewn together) well the book just started to lose its veracity for me. I stayed with it to the end which in so many ways was a bummer and rather disappointed in an otherwise great series.
I realize I am in the minority with this review. But, I did read a few other reviews that go along with what I am thinking. We always I love Lynx! I love so of the team too. What awesome men. This one took way too long in the beginning, to get anywhere meaningful. A lot of escaping past books. Talking to the general to get permission could have happened in fewer words. I'm not saying things should be deleted, just said faster to get the story moving. All the information the Doc was telling Lynx, was waay loved my head. I tried to follow along but it was just too much. Rehashing about Indigo and that fiasco wasn't needed. The last third of the book, was when the action began. From there it moved fast, was tense and exciting. They are all so much braver than I could ever be. Thanks to men and women, who do have the courage, they keep us safe. Thanks to all of you. Again, Fiona, I want to thank you for having you books in Kindle Unlimited!! Without KU, myself and many, many others would not be able to read your books. That would be too sad! I may not have given this book more stars but I highly do recommend this series and all of Fiona's books!
