This book comes light and bright, like a blue summer sky and yet is loaded like a heavy thunderstorm sky.

What an infinite and grave question this new, great and emotionally honest story of the galaxy's gladiators poses:
How far would we put ourselves back for the benefit of others? What are we willing to sacrifice to enable others to lead self-determined lives?
Everyone is the center of his own life and has a right to be, but how much does it overshadow others around us?
Does it honestly move everyone forward when steps are taken towards each other?
Can everyone win a little or do we just win more together?

These heavily loaded questions are wonderfully wrapped up in this story, told empathetically and comprehensibly in one sweep, without too much pressure on the mood, and are captivating until the end.

The doctor has always been a fascinating personality in the past books, great that he got his own book, a great companion and we a deep look into his inner world, what drives him and defines him.

The result is quite simple:
You have to read this!!!
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Thanks to Alana Khan, it’s a good way to ponder these questions!

I was provided a free copy in exchange for an honest review. I was happy to discover that Dr.Drayke was given a story. It was clear in the other books that he did not want to participate in the breeding program even though he had to. This book allowed us to get to know his motivations and character better. He was an honorable man put in a horrible position. The development of Drayke's relationship with Nova was a beautiful thing. I understood both Dr.Drayke's and Nova's thought processes and actions throughout the entire book; which is a rarity for me. Normally I am irritated by the actions of either the male or female lead. Also it was a nice departure to have the female be the gladiator. Overall a great book.

Fantastic book!!! I couldn’t put it down! Alana Khan has done it again with the 5th book in the Galaxy Gladiators series! I loved this book as it took the series in a different direction by flipping gladiator rolls and touching deep into the mysterious mind of the hot alien doctor! I can’t wait for the next one to come out and see what Alana has up her sleeve this time!

The Doc is in!

This is in the top 2 favorite books of the series for me. At last, the doctor get his mate, and his culture is explored in depth as he finds himself bonding to a human woman injured in the gladiator match against one of the freed gladiators. Doc's devotion and understanding is like no other, despite the very risk of death.

The doctor is in but he's going to die if he can't complete the bonding ceremony and his love isn't sure she wants a forever relationship. Her broken past won't let her.

Wow!! With every installment, the series is getting better and better. Drayke, the fifth book in the Galaxy Gladiators, is a fabulous sci-fi romance. It's well-plotted with an engaging storyline and marvelous characters. I was totally immersed from the start right to the very end.

I was thrilled to learn that Dr. Drayke got his own book and found love with Nova. He is an honorable male and was put in an agonizing position. The last thing he wanted was to participate in the breeding program; however, he wasn't given a choice. Drayke and Nova are a perfect match; they have a magnetic connection, one of mutual understanding, desire, and passion. I savored their story.

Outstanding dual narration by Rich Miller and Kelsey Navarro, both narrators portrayed the characters' personalities, emotions, and chemistry flawlessly. They literally brought the characters and the story to life. I can't wait to hear the rest of the series.

Overall, Drayke is a well-written sci-fi romance with fascinating characters and stellar narration. I strongly recommend this audiobook.

I adore these books Alna Khan has created such an amazing world with amazing males of different races. Drayke is the doctor on the ship he can never go home to shame his family as he signed up unknowingly with the slavers that held the gladiators and humans against their will. When they sign up to fight so the can fix the ship he never thinks he will meet a human female gladiator. Nova has been fighting for over 2 years forced into a claiming match after she fights against her owner who planned to rape her. When they meet she ha no trust in others and Drayke knows he must handle her carefully His race bonds and if they can not compete that bond or open the three gates they go mad and die. He bonds to Nova but can he win her love before he dies? Loved this every book in this series keeps you engaged from the first page to the last. They have action, romance and likable characters you cant help but root for.

Great Series

This is an awesome series to read. The characters worm their way into your heart and you want nothing but the best for them. From the time I read the first book I wanted the doctor to get his own story. He seems so pious to be caught on a ship full of blood thirsty gladiators. Drayke and Nova are a perfect balance for each other. I found Nova to be a selfish piece of work but as you get into the story, you find that she’s not selfish at all. A really good read with an exceptional ending.

Intriguing and sensual

How does a woman raised to distrust the males of her species overcome her limits to learn to love and trust her would be alien lover?
Nova knows Drayke is a good "man", but it's just so damn hard to trust her heart!

Great book

Another fantastic read from Ms Khan. I love how the author spins her stories and the amount of detail used to create an immersive experience. It’s hard to have favourite characters the more of the books you read, but I’ve really enjoyed getting to know Dr Drayke and Nova better.

Amazing!

I have read all of Alana's books and this is another fantastic read. I liked Drayke from previous books but I absolutely fell in love with him in this one. His romance with Nova is full of tension and at one point I needed tissues because it really touched my heart. I am sure it will touch yours too. Curl up and get comfy because you won't want to stop until the end!

I'm so glad to be back to the gladiators. Of course Drayke captured my interest from the first book so when I downloaded this book just before bedtime I stayed up too late to read the entire thing. Nova's back story had me in tears and she broke my heart with every chapter. Trust is always so complicated.

I had misgivings about Drayke... in many ways he was as much a slave as the others. But I didn't like the way that he treated Shadow in Shadow's tale... it felt incredibly hypocritical... considering how he came into the story.

Having said that... poor Drayke. Thank goodness Nova finally saw sense.

Bahd Ahss Female Gladiator

This was an interesting story about Dr. Drake and the Dacian mating bond. Nova, a female gladiator, has triggered the mating bond in him but she has spent her entire life ruled by men. She's not ready for a forever with one man, she thinks.

4 1/2 stars!

I personally do NOT consider this to be a STAND-ALONE read. There are too many reoccurring characters, consecutive timelines and overarching themes that are built from the foundation laid by the first story (Zar). There are also a lot of details that occurred previously that would be lost, as they cannot be adequately explained within another story.

** There are multiple scenes, themes and references to subjects that will be difficult for sensitive readers. These include abduction, enslavement, forced mating, and trafficking. A high-level list is included below. **

— Although I try to watch it, if you have not read this (or the previous stories in the series), the following may contain spoilers. —

I ❤️❤️❤️ this series! Nova and Drayke have wonderful chemistry. Since I am a visual reader, I really appreciate how characters’ appearance are reinforced throughout the story. Between that, the excellent story universe, and the overarching themes, the series is brought to life in full color. I found I couldn’t quite give it 5 stars. There were just too many punctuation errors. As soon as the ‘movie’ would start, it would get interrupted by another error.

I mention the following for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow. There are grammatical errors throughout this story. I believe there are more issues in this story than all of the previous four stories combined. The only fortunate thing is nothing was difficult to interpret. The majority were incorrect punctuation, but there were also missing words, and a possessive issue. I uploaded my notes to goodreads for anyone interested.

This story begins with the Dr. Drayke, and Dax going down to the planet Bellona so Dax can fight in a gladiator match. Their ship blew a gasket and they need credits to pay for the repair. Drayke, with his species’ reputation, is needed to act as Dax’s owner. They entered him into one of the grappling matches, so they are hopeful it will be an easy in and easy out.

They should have known better … The coliseum is designed with swinging ax blades, fake hills, rocks, greenery, etc. Then they are informed right before the match that it is has been changed to a claiming match. Meaning that the slave that loses, if still alive, now belongs to the winning owner. Drayke is not comfortable taking the risk that he could be killed or enslaved again. Dax is unconcerned and confident.

Nova has been a female gladiator for two years. She has just been informed about the change in the match and is not even sure why she is surprised. He is just taking revenge because when he tried to force her to service him, she fought back and got him in a choke hold. Her trainer has been telling her that she is lucky he didn’t kill her on the spot. He owns her and is the most powerful man in the galaxy as the head of the MarZan Cartel.

The coliseum layout should play into Nova’s strengths. She can’t go toe to toe with any of the male gladiators, but she is small, quick and cunning. There are a lot of places she can frustrate her opponent, and hopefully wear them out until she gets an opening to strike. Maybe she should have just done what he wanted last night.

Dax is called to the arena and Drayke sees his opponent. Drayke was very worried until that moment, but he is going against a human female. He could take her out in a minute without a problem, although Dax would never try and actually hurt her. Drayke actually takes a moment to look at her and she is the most beautiful female he has ever seen. He has a hard time taking his eyes off of her and has to stop his thoughts in their tracks when he finds himself rooting for her.

Then the match begins. After some ineffectual moves, the female takes off. Nova quickly realizes that she underestimated her opponent. She thought he was all brawn, would be slow, and she could trick him, but that is not the case. He stays on her heels, tries to get her to stop evading, tells her he would free her after he won. How stupid does she look? Sure he would let her go … not.

Then Nova tries to let the swinging axes take him out, but they sped up when she gets there. She can’t stop in time … then he pulls her back, but not quite in time. The last thing she sees is the ax cutting through her arm, and the lower part dropping into the dirt …

⛔️ Contains references to, or scenes detailing, subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including, but not limited to: adult language; derogatory terms; mental health challenges; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, forced mating, etc.; violence throughout typical of the alien abduction genre such as kidnapping / abduction, murder / death, torture, assault, rape, fighting, human (species) trafficking, enslavement, pain/kill collar, mental, physical and sexual abuse of adults, prostitution, coercion, etc.

There’s a lot to say about this book.
Yet I will make it simple. It’s a good book the characters were good well created for each other, however, I felt like I was on an elevator l mean come on this girl had issues that should have been addressed since day one. I really fell pity for the doctor. That is crazy a male that could literally die if he doesn’t mate the woman he loves amazing why can all men be that way, there wouldn’t be any confusion when fixing ones mate. Giggles.

It’s a good book, however, I have questions.
Why. Relate those specific character to have this way of life biologically. I mean he has bonded in a way with every female on the ship. I mean in book one, I really thought he had a thing for Anya, then with grace the same since they dupe t so much time together, with Petra he actually went out of his way just to tell Petra that shadow was not the best guy to please be careful, and let’s not forget his reaction with Tawny.

I think he bonded in some way with each of these female. That this is the character created for hi. Perfect, but he has bonded close enough with the others, Anya literally push limits and got personal because of her he open up to the reality of what he was doing he finally had admitted something personal of him. Grace was his assistant for a while. Intimacy, sexually there was none, because theses females were taken . I just had to put that on the table that he had bonded with others before besides his now mate.

My hats off to the author, I have heard of possessive male alphas but damn, the doc was literally out of the park, with his possessive way. Lol !!!
I mean poor shadow , why accused him of wanting Nova, Petra was right there
Lmfao!!!
I think this was a really romantic story
Something that intrigues me is that the doc keeps saying he has shame to return to his planet. In life we make right and wrong decisions, we are not gods to be perfect. This character hurts and blames himself sees himself as less for doing what he was tricked into doing. I think that there’s are issues I. Each book that require more time or a sequel.especially this one.

I was literally have to say the character of Nova had me going crazy, even a blind man could see she loved him, yet it was hell got the poor doctor.
Like I said great book even though there could be more in each of the books.

This was a beautiful love story.💖💖

Drayke the doctor on board that slacker was tricked I to serving on slave ship many moths ago he did his best to be gentle with the earth females during the checkups and came close to killing himself over the shame he felt he brought not only in himself but his family. Even if the others on board forgave him he can't quite forgive himself. Nova was abducted from her home almost two years ago and fixed to fight in the gladiator matches. She was the youngest of nine and the only girl. She and to learn how to fight just to keep herself safe from her own brothers. She was very adept at the MMA fighting story and excelled but never truly enjoyed the fight. Thank God for her skills because it's the o my thing that has helped her survive the matches. When her owner tries to force her until sexual acts she refuses and he placed her on a death match. This is where she meets Drayke and her life changes for ever. Drayke and Dax are at the gladiator games to earn enough credits fix the ship. When they see that Dax's opponent is a human woman they decide they will do whatever they can to rescue her. Nova is suspicious and doesn't trust males at all but when she is badly injured she is forced to trust that these new people won't hurt her. Drayke is immediately drawn to Nova and doesn't understand why he feels the possessive need to care for her and keep her safe. He works tirelessly to earn Nova's trust. This is when he realizes that his mate bond has activated. Without its completion he will descend into madness and die. Nova grapples with her trust issues and comes too care for Drayke but can she truly love him enough to save him? This story is beautiful the way the both struggle with their feelings and the way Drayke un selfishly love Nova is beyond beautiful. Watching Nova struggle with her trust issues and years of being a slave is heart breaking. Together they both learn what real love is and how much they both truly want forever . I highly recommend this book and suggest you keeps so.e tissues on hand. The story will grab into your heart strings .💖💖🔥💖🔥💖💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖💖💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥

I have loved this series so far. Each book is better than the last. This one will be hard to beat cause it is that good. Now, I do have to put a warning in that there are adult scenes in here so it is for mature audiences. Dr. Drake is not a gladiator, he is the doctor. I seem to always like the doctors the best. He is fit and in good shape as well as being blue which is my favorite color. He also has blue black hair and I am imagining that beautiful color that you often see on birds. Be still my beating heart. Anyway, he is betrayed by biology into falling for someone who has been mistreated by males all her life and doesn't trust any male, even our wonderful Dr. Drayke after he proves he is devoted over and over again. I love the world building in this series. It is easy to read and entertaining. It lets your imagination soar to new heights. It has danger as well as romance. I couldn't put it down once I started it. I loved the book and recommend it.

Drayke and Nova

Wow! My favourite so far! But I feel like I say that every time I finish a book from this series!! Another fantastic read from the very talented Alana Khan. I simply adore this series with the very different aliens we are introduced to as well as their interesting and fascinating culture. Nova is a human gladiator forced to fight to stay alive since she was kidnapped from Earth 2 years ago. She trust no one until the blue doctor start breaking all her walls. Drayke is the doctor on board, he has resigned himself to a live of loneliness. The last thing he expects is to bond the brave female gladiator. Great plot, story flows well and grabs you till the very end. Couldn't put it down! Cant wait to see what AK has reserved for us in the next book. Highly recommended!!!

Reluctant love

Physician heal thy self. If only he could. Dr Drayke finds himself In a no win situation when he's bonding hormones go nuts after seeing a naked Nova fighting for her life in a gladiators ring. He only has a few weeks to bond with his chosen female or die an excruciating death of pain and insanity. He's only other option Is ritual suicide.
Nova has been betrayed by every male she's ever known starting with her father and brothers. She was snatched from earth abused and made to fight for her life in the gladiators ring. Now after being mortally injured and saved by the handsome blue dr, he will die if she doesn't bond with him forever. Nova can't do forever, but can she stand by and watch a good male die?

Ship's doctor Drayke gets his story

Drayke has appeared in the previous stories, and we caught interesting glimpses of the heart of his character, and personality, in Zar's story.

Nova is a new rescue, and through her we get more world building, and another perspective from which to view Drayke.

Where Drayke is a caring and compassionate healer, Nova is a Gladiator with trust issues... watching the two find common ground, learn to trust one another, and figure out the future made for a page turning quick read that used the subplot to rescue another character who we can expect to see in the next book.

Enjoyable

This One was a little too slow for me but I did enjoy it. I couldn’t rank it up there along with the first few books of the series because they were explosively good and I felt this one was just a tiny bit less stellar in comparison. I realize that not every story is going to be fireworks. And that’s OK. I really loved the ultimate reward at the end of this. I just felt like the way they got there was so slow and meandering I got lost a bunch of times. But I love Drayke (just not his name). And I think nova is the perfect mate for him. I really loved her too. That’s all I’m gonna say.

Dr. Drayke

The book was awesome. Alana Kahn is a fabulous story teller. Her imagination, endless. This book deals with different kind of of a story line. This one is a true bond. Sorry this may be a spoiler. I wasn't sure about the bond Dr. Drake mentions. Its hinted at but without this bond possible for us, we just don't go there. Dr. Drake I thought of as a more simple quiet male but he is all Male! I mean that in a total masculine way. He's perfect! Has the compassion and understanding of a female but he's all strong male! Both sides of the coin. I wish men could be like this here. Ha. I guess we can dream. Read and enjoy. I did.
