Drop Dead Dirty

Oliver Kent isn’t just drop dead gorgeous…
He’s drop dead dirty too.

I haven’t seen him in a decade. Ten whole years since Oliver Kent broke my heart and we said goodbye to our teenage dreams forever.
They say he’s a crazy successful businessman now, living wild in London with a huge bank balance.
And me? Well, I’m still here living the same old small-town life, pretty sure I’ll never see him again.
Until rumour has it that he’s going to be at our high school reunion...

How the damn hell is a girl supposed to cope with the Oliver Kent effect all over again?
It’s a whole fresh round of want. Filthy, dirty want for the boy who drove me wild with his filthy, dirty fantasies. So many memories aching for more.
Just as well life sometimes gives out second chances, isn’t it?
One thing’s for sure, I’ll be jumping in to take mine.

Drop Dead Dirty is a second chance romance with hopes, dreams and small town love on the pages. The Oliver Kent effect gets pretty sizzling as the novel moves along.

Drop Dead Dirty is a small town, second chance romance that will make you swoon and pant in equal measures!

Single mother Maisie Moore has lived in the same town where not much changes. In ‘a tiny town with tiny dreams’ nothing could detract from her son Freddie; indeed her biggest accomplishment. Although content with her life, she's never forgotten the boy that left and never looked back, Oliver Kent.

"I wanted to show her what it felt like to be with a man who really, truly loved her for her. A man, not the boy she’d caught herself up in before he was ready to know who that man could be."

At their 10-year school reunion, Oliver Kent makes a surprise appearance. After spending the last decade in London making a name for himself, it's like no time has passed. All it takes is a mere conversation for all their old feelings to resurface. Just one phone call to reawaken the passionate woman that has been dormant for so long.

"You’re going to be so fucking dirty for me, Maisie Moore. You have no idea how dirty I’m going to make you… or how much you’re going to fucking beg for more of it…"

What restarts with mind-blowing phone sex, Maisie and Oliver quickly acknowledge what they've both been missing. The test will be trying to get their very different lives to coexist to find happiness.

"I was more in love with her now than I’d ever been. Her sweet soul, her honesty and kindness. Her cute little laugh. That filthy little sparkle in her eyes."

Drop Dead Dirty was bittersweet for me. Why? Because this was a story about relatable people with baggage that didn’t need to play games. They had insecurities, they had everyday lives and they had hopes and dreams. Amidst all the hot sex (and there was plenty), there was romance that made me feel hopeful. 💜

I wanted Maisie Moore, take two. All of her. Sweetness and light, dirtiness and depths. For better for worse. For all my strengths and sins, and hers along with them, no matter what the cost.

This was a bit different than the usual Jade story. Per usual, it was kinky and dirty, but it had a lot more heart than some of her more recent books. It wasn’t dark at all, nor did it have a ton of crazy drama or scheming characters. And you know what? That turned out to be just what I needed. Maybe if I had read it another time, I would’ve found it a touch boring. But I was fresh off an angsty, drama-filled read, so this one really hit the spot. I can see it fading from my memory over time, but I still thoroughly enjoyed every second of reading it.

Oliver Kent was the boy I’d fallen in love with and broken my heart over. He was every bit the amazing specimen I’d talked through the night with until the sun came up on more nights than I’d ever be able to remember.

This story is the very definition of second-chance romance. Maisie and Oliver were each other’s first loves, but they parted ways after high school. Nobody really seemed to be at fault- Oliver had ambitions, while Maisie didn’t see much past her small-town life. Ten years later, their paths cross again, but not really by accident. Oliver is running a successful business in London and is something of a town celebrity when he decides to finally come back to town. His marriage has fallen apart, which forces him to acknowledge that he never really stopped pining for his first love. For her part, Maisie became a small-town cliché- knocked up by the town jock, now a single mom working at the supermarket. Ollie pursues her like her pursues everything- with a one-track mind and steady determination.

“I was a boy with treasure in my hands all those years ago, only I didn’t know how best to make that treasure whimper and fucking sparkle. I do now. Believe me, I do now.”

I really liked how Oliver wanted Maisie more than anything, but he did frustrate me at times with the way he refused to learn anything from their first break-up. That being said, he was adorable with her little boy and very doting when it came to both of them. He also had a filthy streak that made him even more desirable. I did like Maisie, too. She had this sweet innocence, but she also wasn’t afraid to get dirty. She was a responsible mom, yet she still followed her heart. She learned from her mistakes, she was honest, and she was the realism Ollie needed alongside all his wild dreams. They were filthy hot together, which added the excitement and edge that the plot didn’t necessarily provide. What bumped this story from average to above-average (besides the usual hot sex Jade provides) was how real Maisie could be, how relatable her thoughts and actions were. I understood her self-consciousness when it came to Ollie; she was ten years older as well as a mother, so of course her body had changed. She wasn’t pathetic or anything, but she struggled with the idea that she was “good enough” for a man who had been married to a supermodel and had attained big-city success. Honestly, it would’ve been strange if she didn’t feel self-conscious, but Ollie did such a good job of comforting her that it made him even more desirable in my eyes.

There’s no point being able to afford to do whatever the hell you want in life if there’s nobody you truly want to do it with.

I haven’t read Bang Gang, but from what I’ve heard, this one sounds similar to that book: steamy but with heart. I know the author has had a rough go of it lately, so I understand why she’d write a book like this, not overly complicated but with the dirty edge we’ve come to know and love from Jade West. If that sounds up your alley, I recommend you download this story and curl up under the covers for a few hours escape!

“I fucking love you, Maisie,” I said, my chest against her back, my mouth to her ear. “I’ve always fucking loved you. And I always fucking will.”

I struggled to finish this book. To be honest I didn’t expect it to be so drop dead dirty.
Moreover, I found it hard to connect either with the characters or the storyline.
I will not spare you with details regarding my objections for the characters’ actions or behaviours, but I was shocked beyond belief that it took Oliver 10 years for him to realise and acknowledge how much he was in love with Maisie. Mercy please!!!

It’s been awhile since I’ve read a Jade West book. I like her books in the sense they are pretty smutty, but there’s a storyline. To my surprise this one didn’t have enough smut for me. I’m just that dirty. The couple is slightly kinky in bed, but it’s nothing to be gasping about.

Overall, Drop Dead Dirty was an okay book. I like the angst is low.

There wasn’t anything major really flawed with the characters and I did like that, but on the other hand, it made the book kind of slow and boring. I felt like the last 20% of the book couldn’t have been condensed a little.

There was the same problem that was present throughout the book. One lived in the city and the other didn’t. Not sure you can base the whole book on that plot but that is what the author did.

I liked that the heroine has a son, although I would have liked more son interaction than what I got.

So like I said, it was an okay book, but it did need some tweaking.

3.5 a sweet, simple second chance romance that wasn't anything quite as dirty as the title promises. Although he talks a lot of filth, it's actually quite tame for a Jade West story.

Enjoyed it though, low angst, easy reading. Recommended. Available on ku, standalone.

I love Jade's books, and it has been a while since she has released a book, so I was so happy to see that she released a new one. Drop Dead Dirty is a good book, but to be honest, not one of my favorites of hers.

Drop Dead Dirty is a second chance story that brings Oliver and Maisie back together after years of being apart. These two were always meant to be, but life seems to always get in the way. Hopefully this time they will be able to work it all out.

Good story.

✨ DREAMY’S REVIEW ✨

Jade West is one of those authors that I know will always bring the erotic, filthy, dirty talking men into my world! Drop Dead Dirty is a second chance, small town, erotic romance that will leave you panting and wishing you were Maise because Oliver Kent is HOTHOTHOT!

This story is quite different than what I’m used to by Jade West. Yes, she brings in the kinky, erotic, dirty and filthy talking men into my world. But with this one, there was all of that AND more. She brought heart and emotion.

Maise is a single mother in a town full of small hopes and dreams. She’s content with the life she’s living with her son, Freddie. But also in that small town, she could never forget the boy that left her behind, Oliver Kent.

“Oliver Kent. The boy who still held my heart as tightly as he ever had, back when we were young kids with big dreams, professing undying love and an undying future together.”

Ten years later, Oliver Kent comes back into her life surprisingly after making a name for himself in London. What they didn’t know what was would happen after that night at the high school reunion.

One call, it’s all it took. And all of their dirty, filthy ways began.

”Something naughty. Dirty. Something like us. Like me.”

Their reconnect was strong and forward and fast, they bulldozed their way into each other’s lives without regrets. Yes, Maise had some self-doubt because she was a mom with a son in a small town. BUT Oliver saw so much more for them, for himself.

“I want Maise Moore, take two. All of her. Sweetness and light, dirtiness and depth. For better for worse. For all my strength and sins, and hers along with them, no matter what the cost.”

He wanted them in his world just as much as Maise wanted to be in his. I loved how she wasn’t pathetic or weak or bowed down to the life Oliver lived, she was strong and shared her thoughts and opinions. She didn’t let people stomp or belittle her, but she kept self-doubt and voiced it between her and Oliver. I loved how Oliver was fiercely loyal and caring and loving towards Maise.

“We were tied up in the same universe, both of our souls wrapped up right and craving the same edgy song.”

Both Maise and Oliver acknowledge their love, their wants, and needs. And even though they lived totally completely different lives, they were able to make it work and coexist regardless of the drama that came barreling in!

Drop Dead Dirty is a refreshing read by Jade West and it was a perfect book for me to read! It was a straight forward story with not too heavy on the drama, but about real people with issues that you can connect to on some level!

Lawd, who doesn’t love a Drop Dead Dirty second chance romance? I know I sure do!

Oliver and Maisie haven’t seen each other in ten years. And in that time period, Oliver has gone on to be one of the most successful IT entrepreneurs in the business. He’s dedicated his life to building and growing his business—to the detriment of his social life and his marriage.

In the meantime, for the past ten years, Maisie has remained in their small hometown, raising her son the way she was raised—surrounded by family, friends and love. She’s comfortable, happy, and home.

But the connection between Oliver and Maisie isn’t to be denied. He wants her by his side—he lost her once and he’s not willing to let that happen again. But is Maisie willing to give up her comfort, her family, her home to be with Oliver again. Be with him—the real him: the ruthless businessman focused on success and his company.

I loved the romance that redeveloped between Maisie and Oliver. That they really picked up where they ended so long ago. It was easy for them to fall in love again. Fall back into bed again—and their sexy AF activities between the sheets, on the floor, against the wall . . . Not so easy was their look at the future—and I loved how they matured, grew, and compromised.

Drop Dead Dirty is sexy, smart, and full of heart! ~ Missy, 4 stars

This one was a delicious slow burn, filthy dirty second chance at love. The characters had me hooked from the first page. You could feel their unrequited love and filthy fantasies. Plenty of emotions made it feel very genuine. Loved it! Definitely recommend.

Anyone who knows me knows what a huge Jade West fan I am- hell she could re-write a menu and I would read that thing from cover to cover!!

So I was super excited to hear she was back writing another book and I couldn't wait to jump right in.

And I was lucky enough to ask to BETA read this baby!!!!

What we got this time from Jade was a lot softer of a story- it's not your usual Jade West offering- it's a really beautiful story of second chances but with some Jade filthiness thrown in!

This story was based on second chance love- what happens when you get a second chance with the one who got away.....Oliver and Maisie were ridiculously in love- but Olivers dreams were bigger than their relationship- which is generally what happens when you fall in love at 16.

I loved the majority of the characters, Maisie was a bit of a door mat when it came to other people- but I kinda liked that about her- it made her relatable as we can all be a little soft at times.

Freddie was a fabulous little character- with zero filter and a bucket load of enthusiasm- a general 6 year old boy!

And Ollie- ah Ollie- he was perfect....successful, handsome, little bit of a geek thrown in- and with the years apart from Maisie- confident. I really liked him!

If you're looking for your usual Jade filthy from the beginning book- this one will probably surprise you- it's slow building as these 2 need to establish roots and relationship again- but once it gets going it's explosive!

3.5 stars for this second chance romance.
Not the usual pushing boundaries and filth Jade West is usual to dish out.

The story is very predictable, not enough angsty and the plot slow and dull at times, some repetition and not enough extreme steamy scenes like some other of her books.

An easy reading before going to bed.

This book is an incredible second chance romance with a touch of Jade West’s signature dirty mind. No spoilers, but I have to say and mean it when I do, I truly loved Maisie. There was something about her...something charming...She was a very original and relatable character and that made the Kent journey that much more thrilling. I put this book down with a content feeling in my belly, and hope one day, maybe we’ll see more of Oliver and his sweetheart 🥰

Second chance romance rekindled from a high school reunion.
I did enjoy this book a lot. It was very sexy..very dirty and enjoyable.
The part that lacked for me was the back story to understand why they made the choices the made and more of their personalities.

Where to start?

Jade West has always been an instant read for me but this book I felt was not her best. I really hate saying that but it just fell flat. I'll start with the positive...Jade always writes beautifully...easy to read and the words just flow. The book had great detail and made the story much more rich. I loved the both MC friends from high school and the female MC son.Ok now the negative...my BIGGEST complaint and what really ruined the story for me was how weak the female MC was...I mean grow a set for God sakes ....why oh why would you want to stay someplace where everyone gossips? And you let you ex treat you like a door mat. I'd have wanted to get my child out of that environment. Also when Jade first started writing books she was a risk taker with the kink but this was just boring really....just because you say the word dirty about a thousand times does not actually make what your doing "dirty". If she is still looking to push the envelope get a book on kink there are thousands to choose from. I will still read Jade West books in future I'm just going to hope for better.

Drop Dead Dirty is ripe full of heat, sweet, and romance. Ollie and Maise have a past. School sweethearts that took a turn for the worst. When Ollie comes back to town, all bets are off and he is determined to get the woman he has always loved.

Maise is very true to herself. I love how she weighs all the pros and cons and settles her heart and mind at the same time. Life isn't easy when the one you love comes back. She's a devoted mom and a sweet woman in the streets. In the sheets, however, she's as dirty and filthy as they come. Ollie is very cocky. He made a name for himself and money for himself. He knows what he wants and goes after it with gusto. He can be a bit domineering, but it does add to his charm. These two together are not rainbows and sunshine, they are rainy days and oh so dirty. It works perfectly for them.

Now while I enjoyed Drop Dead Dirty, I did find it a bit shocking to see their relationship move so fast so quickly. From the first awkward "hi" to the naughty on a flash. I wanted to get to know a bit more about them, and wished for a little more time of them being in a real relationship rather than jumping straight into bed. Still think it's a cute read though!

Drop Dead Dirty is full of the naughty, the sweet, the dirty, and the hope that second chances really do come along and work out.

Oh Ms. West, you certainly have out done yourself this time…Oliver Kent is nothing short of awesome! From the outset he I knew he was going to leave his mark and boy oh boy did he…I’ve still not recovered!

Ladies be prepared to revel in the magnificence that Mr. Kent brings to the page because like the teasers for this book said…he is downright filthy, and I loved him for it!
He had his own specific likes and dislikes and they were just what I wanted to hear all about.

He was a force of nature, a human hurricane, was Maisie ready to face that storm head on?
I loved the fact that’s he was such a fantastic character, she had the making of the perfect partner for Oliver, but they had a lot to overcome before they got to where they needed to be.

This was one of my favourite books by Jade West, one that was almost impossible to put down and that I would have no hesitation in recommending.

The story was fascinating, it hooked me in and refused to let go. The characters were sensational, the author made sure that they had plenty to say for themselves and that you were left in no doubt of what they were thinking and why. I found the situations that arose were described so beautifully that I felt every emotion, be that love lust or desperation but when it came to their physicality…well it was dirty all right!!

You will not want to miss this it is fantastic!!

From the get go, I was consumed by all things Oliver Kent and Maisie Moore. This is definitely second chance romance at its best.

The Oliver Kent effect is real! I was bewitched with him as much as Maisie was. The power of his desire to grab hold of their second chance, is forceful and captivating. His wonderfully, deep dirty needs, had me a quivering hot mess. Oliver’s tunnel vision had my stomach in knots and had me cry desperate tears - The feelings of will they ever be on the right page in life, hit hard.

The dilemma they face is emotionally raw and complex. Good, honest, Maisie is a minx and willing participant in all things dirty in the bedroom. But foremost, she is a character with not one selfish bone in her body. A deep sense of doing what is right for everybody, sings loudly from the pages.

The story is gripping and intriguing.
The characters had depth and purpose.
The emotions are deep and explosive.
The lust is gritty and raw.
The dirty is fantastically, damn right dirty.
And the love. Well the love that Ms West conjures up between Maisie and Oliver, will be forever etched on my heart.

Drop Dead Dirty has fast made it on to my top reads list.

As with any Jade West read I can get my filthy hands on, I absolutely devoured this across a Friday night and Saturday morning reading frenzy, growing more frustrated by the page that my partner wasn't in 'the mood' because I certainly was!

It had its smut and it had its romance, but where it fell a little flat for me was that it was neither smutty enough nor romantic enough...it's as if balance was searched for but not quite achieved, falling slightly (but not too much) short of both genres. Compared to West's other work, the kinky/smutty aspect wasn't as extreme as I was expecting/hoping for (though the scenes that were there were still absolutely scorching). And the second-chance romance aspect felt, to me, a bit rushed. Maisie and Ollie were video calling each other and, er, 'revealing all' so soon after meeting each other after a 10-year hiatus, and we never really covered the events of their childhood in enough detail for my liking, including Maisie's relationship with Robbie.

As ever, this was well-written, had wonderfully developed lead characters in Ollie and Maisie, and struck at my heartstrings as well as my clitoris.

I always look forward to dipping into a new Jade West book as I know it will be well written and that gorgeous trademark mix of a great story intermingled with filth of the highest order. Drop Dead Dirty certainly lived up to my expectations. I love the authors writing style and the way she creates characters you care about and who are not picture perfect. Maisie is one such character. On the surface a supermarket cashier, single Mum, living life in the village she grew up in, as did all her ancestors. But looks can be deceptive and beneath this facade the filthy minx side of her is dying to be revived and who better to do it than small town boy made good, Oliver, her ex boyfriend from schooldays. I have to say even though Oliver was definitely drop dead gorgeous and filthy as hell, he did make me cross at times and I ended up shouting at my Kindle in annoyance! I also have to confess I found myself empathising and liking Robbie which I never expected to do. But that’s the beauty of a good book, characters that become real to you.

A second chance - slow burn read from the Queen of dirty words.. Ms Jade West!

Absolutely outstanding!

Oliver Kent is indeed DROP DEAD DIRTY but yes, he’s so much more.
He returns to Much Arlock for his school reunion with his sights firmly placed on Maisie Moore, his school sweetheart and now single mum to young Freddie.

I loved how they rekindled their lost love. Maisie’s love for young Freddie and her single mum status certainly resonated with myself from years long gone - trying to make the best choices for them both including the similarities with her ex ‘Robbie’.

Her relationship with Oliver was off the chart... and smoking hot! Whilst being a single parent by day, she becomes a dirty minx when in Oliver’s company. She’s fearless, adventurous and so in love with Oliver.

I’ve given DROP DEAD DIRTY a whopping 5☆....It’s a truly fantastic book. The storyline is superb with exceptionally interesting characters.

Maisie and Oliver were young and in love until their plans for the future took them in different directions. Oliver wanted to leave the small town they were raised in behind him while Maisie couldn’t imagine another life. Ten years later he is a successful businessman and she is a single mother when they reunite at their high school reunion.

From the moment the see each other again their feelings are stronger than ever and a hot and torrid relationship begins. Although both have moved forward with other people in their lives neither had really moved on from each other but now they must decide if it is finally their time or if their lives and pasts are too different to overcome.

This is a second chance at love story between two people who have been apart for years, but it was like they had never separated. Plenty of heat and emotion and I like both Maisie and Oliver’s relationship with her son Freddie.

I love second chances and I love small town romances, and if you add the level of heat this author can bring?! I am all in.
Masie and Oliver were high school sweethearts, but their roads took a separate turn and Masie has now a son and an ex.
Oliver might have made millions but his marriage has failed and he is now unfulfilled.
The ten year reunion is the perfect time to go back in time and to the girl he once loved.
I honestly loved these two, how easy it is for them to catch up no matter the time that has gone by, and the fantasies and emotions are still there..
they might live two completely different lives but their connection is as strong as ever.
Great story with amazing characters!

Holy smokes!! In true jade fashion you get some DIRRRTTTTYYYY! And it was amazing. This was definitely a good read but I had trouble connecting with the heroine. I don’t think it was the writing at all it was me. I’m a mood reader and for some reason I just didn’t connect to her. The book was amazingly written and extremely great flow to the story. It was edgy and hot. I really enjoyed it as I do all of Jade’s. If you’re wanting some dirty action and steamy storyline with the first love popping back up.... this is it!!

Maisie is a single mom living in a small town raising her son on her own. She was with Oliver Kent when they were in high school but he left for London and broke her heart. News in town is Oliver is coming to their high school reunion. Maisie is going and if she gets the chance will she ignite the old fires between her and Oliver? This is a slow burn but sexy, steamy second chance romance. Oliver is sexy, dirty and hot. A great read.
