When he's out and about, Iura's the lovable guy who gets on everyone's nerves. But at home, he's actually a strict yet kind older brother! Just like Hori and Miyamura, there's more to their friends than meets the eye...
3.5 - I toyed with bringing this to 4, but it’s true that this book’s best part is also its biggest problem- the sprawling cast of characters and their interactions is what makes this series, especially now that the author has seemingly run out of things to do with Hori and Miyamura.
However, the gap between published volumes is so huge and there’s no cast list, so if I hadn’t re-read the entire series around a month ago I wouldn’t have a sweet clue who half these people are.
And nearly every chapter moves around to a different set of characters or circumstances, so nothing actually goes anywhere (I would have sworn that something was about to move forward with Iura and Sawada after the first couple chapters and then she never appears again).
There’s so much still to do with this series and I hope it’ll get there, but it’s a bit of a mess in terms of proper narrative. Then again, you put any five characters together to talk about anything and it’s really good in that moment, so it’s worth it for the character dynamics and utterly frustrating in terms of storytelling.
I’m sorry to say it but I think I’m losing heart in this series. Now I know the author probably wants to focus on different characters, but it feels like it’s straying from the plot (not that it hasn’t in the past).
I really like the stories and they make me laugh, but like it's all filler? And there was hardly any Hori and Miyamura? I want more story! And more of my OTP!!
Everytime I read a new volume of this manga, I'm reminded how much I miss these characters. I miss this group. I miss this couple. Although sadly this wasn't my favorite volume, still had fun reading
📖 horimiya, vol. 13 Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐⭐⭐️/5 Read: 3 April - 3 April 2026

RTC CAUSE IM GOING INSANE OVER A KISS MIYAMURA AND HORI HAD OMGGG (guys it's just that I hardly get scenes for them anymore)
This is the kind of manga where even if there isn't much plot, I can still love it because of the characters. I have such an attachment to this series so 5 stars are to be expected from me for each volume in this series.
The main focus of this volume is Iura, which is nice, but the last two chapters kinda made up for the lack of Hori and Miyamura. I want more PDA like that, PLEASE! I mean we're so close to the end now.
So many new and old side characters showing up in this one, and having significant parts! I loved it! I've always been impressed by the sheer number of characters in this manga that get a consistant amount of page time, and now there are even more. The author is nuts LOL
so i recently finished watching the show on netflix (im in love) and i heard ppl said there are more in the manga son i read it. I dont exactly read it by each volume but combine them all together so im not rlly sure which chapter is in which book so im just gonna review them all together and them copy paste yk. Firstly, can we talk about how cute Izumi is? HELLO? EVEN HIS NAME IS CUTE WTF, im developing a huge crush on him btw Kyoko is so cute, flat chest ppl here too<3 but i dont like her sometimes (how she touches ppl breasts without consent and how she gets jealous easily), but i like her sometimes u get me? their whole relationship is so cute. And the way they express sex as its a form of love, not smth just for you to jerk off, im in love. For them, sex is smth more meaningful, and just arghhhhh i like all characters, they r all cute I see myself in Yuki. Firstly, we r both kinda small idk. And then the way she keeps quiet when wanting smth rather than expressing it. Oh god i know it all too well. Hopefully she will finna be happy. overall im in love with the whole thing, pls read ir watch it or whatever

I rate this book 3.5 stars. I was going to rate 3.75 or 4 stars because unlike in the previous 3 or 4 volumes, I really did enjoy this one more, but there were still some chapters I found boring or didn’t like.
I didn’t hate Hori as much in this volume as I did in the last few. In chapter 99, she was very mature about what happened even though in this case it’s Miyamura’s fault (one of the things he did was, he called something she likes childish, that’s mean, I would be angry at my boyfriend if he said about my favourite things).
I’m really liking Remi the more I read this series, she’s so cute and perceptive. She’s good at reading people and helping them out. I also like her and Sengoku’s relationship, they’re so cute! I used to like Miyamura and Hori together but they’re just meh now (plus Hori was horrible in the last few volumes). Tbh, I would rather see him be with anyone else, boy or girl, doesn’t matter, except Yanagi because they have no chemistry at all and barely know each other.
This volume is very scatter brained. There are some funny moments here and there and a few chapters that were really good (chapter 99 is the best by far, the stuff with the keychains). I also really enjoyed getting more of Iura and his family dynamic. However, there is some stuff that does not work (most of the middle chapters). It feels like this series is twiddling its thumbs sometimes. I wish the pace was a little more consistent and they did a little more with our protagonists. Until the last two chapters, Hori and Miyamura barely appear!
I think the greatest strength of this series is it's cast. Even though the plot can be meandering and inconsistent, the characters are almost always really strong and have a wonderful dynamic with each other that keeps you reading!
I once looked at a review from one of the previous volumes that said that the later volumes did not focus as much on Hori and Miyamura. And this volume proves that their claim was right. But surprisingly I don't mind it. I feel that the side cast of characters are just as interesting, but Hori and Miyamura are my favorite still. Iura is probably my favorite side character. Along with Sengoku and Sakura. I love his brotherly relationship with his sister and how he looks out for her ( I've never had an older brother so this brings me joy). Overall this was a good installment. I'm very close to being done with the series. I'll be sad when it ends.
