A celebration in words and pictures of the popular rock group offers never-before-seen photographs of the band members and a text that provides behind-the-scenes anecdotes.
what a detailed, and thoughtful telling of fleetwood mac from start to finish (with the “finish” being the early nineties as the book was published in 1993).
i just finished reading “daisy jones & the six,” which was partly inspired by fleetwood mac. after reading fleetwood’s recounting of the twenty-five years with the band, i was in such awe of all the details i didn’t know!
from the start of it all to the variants of the band, including the shotgun express with rod stewart?! and to the fleetwood mac we all know and love, what an epic journey.
I received a copy of this in 1993 on my eighteenth birthday. Only read it once, all those years ago, so can't remember anything notable to mention, but having been a Fleetwood Mac fan since about 1989/90, thus knowing their long history well, rating this five stars is certainly apt.
I still have the book in great condition, though, and I remember Mick Fleetwood appearing on breakfast TV promoting this, flicking through a few pages, and I knew then that I must have a copy. Features some quality photos, too.
A lot of great pictures help document this book. From their time with Peter Green, until their greatest hits compilation. Newspaper clippings, hand written diary entries, set lists. So much history in this great book.
History of Fleetwood Mac from the beginning and for the first 25 years. Ends at the point when Christine McVie and Stevie Nicks left the band in 1990. Probably of most interest to musicians.
