In the early hours of April 10th, 2007, two masked men wielding hammers and machetes, and calling themselves ‘Alpha’ and ‘Romeo’, broke into a Northumberland pub while the landlord slept alone upstairs. After tying up the landlord and threatening to kill him and his son, who they said they had in the boot of their car, they eventually fled with over £20,000 worth of cash and goods. Three weeks later ‘Romeo’ – real name Arran Elliott – was arrested, charged, and sentenced to eight years in prison. ‘Alpha’ has never been identified, and was never arrested. This is the story of Arran Elliott's life, in his own words.
