He's forbidden in every sense of the word. But is that enough to keep him away?
It all started in Vegas.
Now, I know what you’re thinking…
What happens in Vegas is supposed to stay in the city of sin. Normally, I’d be inclined to agree. Until Lincoln Moore walks into my life.
On paper, we mix as well as oil and water.
He’s confident. Commanding. Successful. Master of his universe.
I’m a hot mess, barely holding on as I struggle to balance my job, finally finishing college, and keeping my mother sober.
But when the lights go out, nothing else matters.
Until I learn the truth of who Lincoln Moore actually is.
Sure, I probably should have put the pieces together sooner, but our time together hasn’t exactly been filled with riveting philosophical discussions about the meaning of life, if you know what I mean.
That still doesn’t diminish the fact he could lose everything by being with me.
But is that enough to keep us apart? Or is what we have worth the risk?
There’s only one way to find out.
Let the games begin…
Note: Wicked Games is the complete story of what readers got a taste of in Night Games, a novella that was originally included in the Blackout Anthology, which is no longer available. While the beginning of this book may sound familiar if you've read the Night Games novella, the story has been continued, and is now 450 pages, over 300 of which is brand new material. Readers wanted more Chloe and Lincoln, so that's what I've delivered here.
T.K. Leigh, otherwise known as Tracy Leigh Kellam, is the USA Today Bestselling author of the Beautiful Mess series, in addition to several other works. Originally from New England, she now resides outside of Raleigh with her husband, beautiful daughter, three cats, and special needs rescue dog.
When she’s not writing she can be found training for her next marathon (of which she has run over twenty fulls and far too many halfs to recall), having impromptu dance parties with her daughter, or planning her next trip to parts unknown.
I started this book with a little novella by the name of Night Games! It was fun, quirky and hot! I laughed my way through, I fanned my way through . . . oh hell, I was just hot all the way through.
And then T.K. decided to expand on this story. I mean after all it’s Lincoln Moore and sexy would be an understatement! It’s Chloe and fun loving would be a true testament.
The thing about Vegas is sometimes things don’t always stay there. Sometimes they follow you wherever you may go.
What T.K. did when expanding this story is nothing short of amazing. She took us inside the life of Lincoln and Chloe and showed things are not always what they seem. Life isn’t always as jovial as people pretend. Everyone has their something. There is always a reason to the rhyme.
She tackled a subject I didn’t see coming and she showcased the sacrifices people make for the love of others. That sometimes, maybe there are extenuating circumstances for people being the way they are. But she also showed us, unbiased love, total commitment, and forgiveness.
I don’t want to talk too much about this story, because each and everyone needs to go in blind, but trust me you do need to go in! It is truly one of the best books I have read this year. Just remember, things are not always what they seem.
“Tell me you’ve thought about me.” “Every day,” I answer without a moment’s hesitation. “Tell me you’ve fantasized about me.” His voice becomes more demanding. “Every night,” I pant.
Brilliantly written and will capture your heart from the first chapter. There’s not a book by this Author I’ve not loved and this is no exception. Wicked Games will bring laughter, a few tears and romance with an explosive passion you will need an ice pack to cool off. Love always finds a way to conquer all.
Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5 Stars) Title: Wicked Games Author(s): T.K. Leigh Character(s): ― Chloe Davenport: 28 years old, Gray lilac ombre (Beginning)/Blonde (Ending), Gray Eyed ― Lincoln Moore: 35 years old, Green Eyed Setting: Las Vegas, Nevada and Manhattan, New York Tag(s): Romance, Contemporary Content Rating: R POV: First Person (Heroine) Smexy Level: Hot Favorite Quote(s): ― “Even the master of the universe deserves a day off to enjoy life’s…pleasures.” ― “Because I. Can’t. Do. That. I can’t enjoy the luxury of making you laugh. Of taking you out and treating you like the amazing woman you are. Of kissing you in the middle of Times Square with the world watching. Not without jeopardizing everything I’ve worked so hard for. Without destroying my father’s legacy. I’m willing to do that. For you. But I need to know you’re all in. I need to know you’re willing to take a risk. To take a chance.” Overall Opinion: Seamlessly a sexy adventure from start to end! I wasn't too sure what to expect when I requested this book from the series and overall it was a great read. The oozing chemistry between Lincoln and Chloe can be felt through pages and their back and forth struggle with fighting their attraction and wanting to be together kept the drama flowing. I will also like to mention that the author did an outstanding job including relatable elements such as alcoholism and dysfunctional relationships that made it more easy to relate to the characters and their stories. "Wicked Games" was filled with funny, sexy characters and a decent plot that left you intrigued from start to end. Did I forget to mention the muy caliente sex scenes?! They were beuno! Needless to say the author definitely didn't disappoint with this modern day forbidden romance.
Ahh!! Wicked Games was fantastic! I couldn't get enough of Lincoln and Chloe. What an amazing chemistry they had. Chloe is an amazing woman, who wears her heart on her sleeve and will protect those she loves like a lioness with her cubs. There were many parts that absolutely broke my heart for her and Lincoln. But love is love no matter what the circumstances. Wicked Games was perfectly put together with just the right amount of everything!
I made it to 32%. I picked this book b/c of the overwhelming good reviews (when will I learn?!) and the fact that it's a "forbidden" relationship which I typically love. Well the characters are in insta-love (seriously?!) and I completely understand the insta LUST which they also had, but they're 2 consenting adults who hook up but the hero was telling the heroine he was HERS in under a week. WTF. He's a successful business man/lawyer/something or other in his early 30s probably and a bachelor-stud on top of that and he's ready to CLAIM/POSESS her by day 2. I just sprained my eyeballs from how hard I rolled my eyes. Ouch. Then after 1/3 of the book, we finally get to the "forbidden" aspect and it's not what I was expecting. At All. These are 2 grown ups who have known each other for LESS than ONE WEEK. The H is only an adjunct/visiting professor who is only doing this for his friend I think. He certainly doesn't NEED this job. And the heroine is 28 so if she can't live her life b/c she's still scared of her Daddy then she needs to grow a pair. There's so many reasons this is ridiculous and so many ways to work around it...if it's THAT important to them 5 days after of meeting. She's already 28 and hasn't graduated. Would it be the end of the world to wait one more semester?? Also, she already has a job, place to live, etc. She's not going to lose anything by waiting. The hero certainly doesn't need to be teaching a course. And can we remember that a college semester is only 4 months or so? And no one would go to jail or anything here. It just seems stupid and contrived. Anyway, I've wasted enough time reading this and now reviewing it so suffice to say I didn't really enjoy anything about it, hence the 1 star, and it's a DNF for me at 32%.
Wicked Games is the all new novel by TK Leigh. It is a stand-alone so if you haven’t read Night Games yet, don’t worry, this is the full story! In Night Games, we met Chloe and Lincoln and got to see how they met in Vegas and saw the sparks literally fly off the pages! Wicked Games is a phenomenal continuation-full of emotions, steaminess that will have you fanning yourself, and so much heart. Seriously it gave me ALL THE FEELS!
Chloe was a fantastic character. She doesn’t trust so easily and some would say a hardened heart. So watching her grow throughout the entire book was amazing to see. Lincoln...damn that man was F. I. N. E! He was also smart, successful, and knew exactly what he wanted-and what he wanted was Chloe. Too bad she wasn’t so sure...
I loved this book so much! Ms. Leigh’s talent is so evident in Wicked Games. She weaves a tale that is so incredible and beautiful and heartfelt that I never wanted it to end. I highly recommend reading it!
Chloe is a character I first met in reading T.K.'s book, Dating Games. She was that friend that shied away from commitment and was very comfortable having casual relationships and one night stands. I was so intrigued by her and her attitude toward sex that I was hoping her character and storyline would be expanded on later. Then T.K. released Night Games as part of the Blackout Anthology and gave readers a look into a weekend with Chloe living out the nightmare of an excruciating bachelorette party in Vegas for one of her closest friends. Her only reprieve being this super hot man coming to her rescue when a drunk guy hits on her.
Lincoln Moore, holy hell, what an amazingly hot, sexy, book boyfriend! Here's this guy that Chloe felt an immediate attraction to, and the more time she spends with him during the blackout only increases her attraction to him.
Chloe and Lincoln together are very hot! But it is not only their sexual chemistry together that made them such an amazing couple. They are just good together, if that makes sense. Lincoln really listened to Chloe, probably the first man to ever do that, and because of it, Chloe actually let down her guard with him, and I just really enjoyed their interactions together, especially their banter back and forth.
There is a forbidden romance going on here, and I surprised myself with how badly I wanted everything to be okay for Chloe and Lincoln. The background we learn of Chloe's childhood and growing up was heartbreaking, so I was rooting so hard for this good thing to happen for her.
Lincoln is just swoon to the max. Lord, he is such a catch!! He's one of those book boyfriends you really want to come to life!!
I rode a rollercoaster of emotion with this story. I laughed and cried and got pissed and smiled a lot and had happy and sad tears. There's some of every emotion rolling through this book. T.K. has always been a master at making my heart stretch and squeeze and get warm and fuzzy. This story does it all. We get to see the whole gang from Dating Games which was awesome, and if you've already met them all, you'll be excited to know Izzy's story is up next!! I can't wait!
We first got a part of Chloe and Lincoln's story in Night Games, which was in the Blackout Anthology. This is a continuation of their story, as we were left wanting more at the end of that novella. So what they say about what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas is inaccurate!! Don't worry-that novella is included in this so you won't miss out on anything or be confused as to what is happening in their relationship. The chemistry between these 2 is still off the charts! Now it's a matter of finding out if their relationship is something beyond the physical. There are secrets and things that have happened to them in the past that they have to work through, but the way their story is written, it makes it all worth it in the end. And the fact that they both learn to open up to each other and what they could have together makes it priceless.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun and very steamy read. Chloe is at a bachelorette party in Vegas and she is rescued from a drunk by a mysterious man. You know what they say, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas but not this time. This book will keep you very entertained and you won’t want to put it down until you see if they get their HEA. I can’t wait to read what is next in this series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Some time ago I posted my review for ´Night Games´which is this same book (or the beginning of it) from an anthology. In my review I stated how Chloe is a BA b*itch. This has not changed. I actually learned just how BA she really is. We learn everything she´s lived through and it made me tear up. The fact I wanted ´Night Games´ to be extended so we could get more of Lincoln and Chloe is amazing. This truly did leave me satisfied even if I did want to smack them a few times until we get the HEA we wanted. This is one amazing read and I can´t wait for Izzy´s story!
We first met Lincoln and Chloe in the Blackout Anthology. Wicked Games is all about what happen happens after the lights come back on. The chemistry between these two is so good. I really enjoyed reading this book and I'm excited to read more.
I was introduced to this story in the Blackout Anthology. I was hooked. I couldn't wait to read this whole story. I couldn't wait to devour it.
Fate keeps bringing these two back together again and again, just like it did in Night Games. One can't ignore fate, until fate shows all of its cards. And then things can get real. And they do. Fate does its best to keep these two apart, even though it keeps putting them together.
That's really what this book is about. What are the characters willing to sacrifice in order to fall in love? Some sacrifices are small, some are big. Its up to these characters to make the hard decisions.
I was all over the place with this book. Its back and forth had me on edge many times. I anticipated and wanted the happily ever after these characters deserved. Just like in life, the obstacles that could be devastating to them.
Their attraction to one another is palpable. There is no way to not feel it. And when that attraction combusts, it's off the charts hot!
I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. It's as emotional as it is sexy. Yet another one of this author's books that I definitely recommend.
Once again this author blows me away! TK Leigh is a must read for me always. It's like Christmas morning when she has a new book out and WOW did I love the characters. Lincoln is my new favorite hero and is the perfect guy for Chloe. So many ups and downs and I loved every minute of it. I was hooked from page one and literally could not put this book down. I highly, highly recommend this book. Actually, I recommend all books by this author. Get it now! You won't be sorry!
My heart can’t take it!! This book had it all romance, chemistry, angst, the unexpected, heartache thrown together with amazing characters!!
We were introduced to Lincoln and Chloe in Night games when the universe kept putting them together in Vegas. So when they’re both back in New York, Chloe decides to give its chance and things are so good. Lincoln is the best, with his controlling dominance but not overbearing.
But the universe decided to throw them a curve ball and it got knocked out of the park!
With daddy issues and a not so stable mother, Chloe has a lot of unexpected situations thrown into the mix.
But through is all she had the support of her great friends that she fully realizes they will always be there for her
This book did not disappoint, and looking forward to reading Izzy’s story
Chloe was first introduced in Dating Games as one of Evie’s friends. In Night Games (originally part of the Blackout Anthropology) we get a glimpse into a weekend in Vegas with Chloe, which is also the start of Wicked Games and the start of her run ins with Lincoln Moore.
Lincoln Moore (yes you have to say his first and last name, because well they just flow so well). This man is dangerously attractive. He felt an instant connection to Chloe and through in a blackout and well sparks fly.
Chloe and Lincoln are EXPLOSIVE. For them, what happened in Vegas definitely hopped on the plane and followed them back to New York. Their chemistry expanded outside of the bedroom. Lincoln listened, he started to break down Chloe’s walls, he wanted her to see herself as the strong woman he knew she was. This is a forbidden romance; their lives are so intertwined in many ways. Though, you know they are so perfect for one another, you can’t help but root for them to find a way to be together.
My heart broke for Chloe. Her entire story is an emotional rollercoaster but really gives a lot of insight into who she is and how she became that way. Her story hit me in such a personal way. I felt her pain, her hurt, all of her emotions, especially as she poured her heart out. I completely loved Chloe in Dating Games, but this story made me love her even more.
Wicked Games is one crazy wild emotional rollercoaster that I didn’t want to end. I loved everything about Chloe and Lincoln and their intertwined lives. To Chloe’s struggles and to Lincoln breaking down all of Chloe’s walls and showing her that she is enough.
Wicked Games is MUST READ and I can’t wait to see what is in store next for this group of friends.
This book had everything! There were times I laughed and times I wanted to cry, and OMG-so hot! Their attraction was strong right off the bat and when I found out who he really was, I was absolutely hooked!! Give me a forbidden romance and I'm a junkie looking for more. The ending was so strong. Hearing her story about broke my heart but gave me so much hope that no matter what, you can be healed and find happiness.
A very emotional and heartfelt story!! Sucked me in from the very start. Chloe and Lincoln were amazing together, their chemistry was radiating from the pages. Was impossible to put down.
Wickedly delicious! Chloe and Lincoln’s unabridged story is fully revealed in this seductive, heartfelt and emotional story. There’s so much more to their story and what unfolds between them. Theirs, is an unconventional and forbidden romance for so many reasons. There’s an old fashion NYC saying that says “when you play you pay.” This statement is so true for Lincoln and Chloe. I first first met and fell in love with this couple in Night Games, part of the Blackout Anthology. The author masterfully included this story in the beginning of Wicked Games making this story a real standalone. When their sexy journey began in Vegas, little did they know what would happen after they left Vegas. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas? Oh no! What happens in New York is what makes this romance even more riveting. Lincoln and Chloe are perfectly imperfect characters who decide to prove they can have it all. Both have painful secrets and pasts that become part of their present and must be addressed if they want to move forward. As they try to make sense of unwanted circumstances, they embark on a slippery and dangerous journey of steamy and highly seductive moments. Their chemistry was combustible. More importantly their characters were so well developed and so relatable. As their personal pasts evolved, the care and sensitivity they displayed had me loving them even more . Well written, the situations they face are flawlessly described and believable. What happens with them especially in a Hawaiian Luau was priceless. My only issue was that their ending felt rushed. 4.5 stars!
Not long after the release of Night Games, T.K. Leigh was at a book event in Austin Tx. Of course everyone was excited about such an amazing fun story. Of course I asked what her next works were going to be, and in true T.K. form her reply was “I am wanting to let the voices in my head come out, but I am a little afraid.” When asked why, she let us know that those voices were strong and loud, but her subject matter might be a little tough. As you can bet, we still supported letting the voices speak loud and clear. But what came out from those voices is WAY MORE than what we were thinking. BTW, Great Job Voices!
The start of the story gave us so much heat between our characters we were already twitching in our seats, but curious also on how does the story continue? A fleeting fun weekend in Vegas where the entire area loses power created a steamy set of circumstances along with some amazingly hot moments between these two characters. As T.K. Leigh shares in the preface, that story is re-shared in chapters 1-13 but what happened when they get home is where the real reality story is.
Lincoln is that independent, strong, alpha male. Success has come to him due to his work efforts and he is proud of where he stands in society. Sounds like a lot of stories I am sure you have read. When he plays he plays hard. But we also discover his battles-fought and won- throughout his younger life. We discover how this man became the power he is today. And we follow along with his struggles to love after hard lessons.
Chloe, to her friends, is simply a workaholic. Loved and respected, she is a ride-or-die partner. She is a warrior that puts family first and is willing to step out there to make sure all is well on the homefront. But there are demons in Chloe’s past and even her present that could easily destroy her, both physically and emotionally. Her battles are not the daily norm and her experiences have not created a future conducive to love. She is broken, and no one knows to what degree. She steps into each day battling to stay above water dealing with unexpecteds that are always around the corner.
That Lincoln and Chloe should meet in Vegas is one thing. But once home, their continued bumping into each other makes it clear, there are strong forces in play. You might say games are afoot… WIcked Games that is.
This story had me laughing out loud one moment and grabbing Kleenex the next. A very powerful story of love and commitment. A story of coming to terms with life circumstances and accepting to throwback. A story of hope, depression, strength, kindness, forgiveness and amazing success.
I cannot begin to rate this book as the scale is not high enough for how I felt when I reached the end. I assure you this is not a book you will put down and one you will not soon forget.
Thank you so much for writing this story T.K. and more than 5-stars on a job very well done.
What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas. Especially when fate keeps stepping in—even once the lights have come back on! To say that the chemistry between gossip columnist Chloe Davenport and attorney Lincoln Moore is intense, is stating it mildly. In fact, they can’t seem to keep their distance any time they are thrown together. So despite the numerous obstacles strewn in their path, along with Chloe’s constant struggle with self-worth, they give in to desire and let the chips fall where they may. That is, until the stakes become too high, and Chloe refuses to be the reason that Lincoln loses it all.
Their deep attraction aside, due to circumstances beyond their control, Chloe and Lincoln’s relationship is fraught with a lot of push and pull. But eventually, Chloe lowers her walls, and Lincoln gets a glimpse into the woman she really is, solidifying his belief that Chloe is the only one for him.
From the moment I was first introduced to Chloe and Lincoln in author T.K. Leigh’s short story, “Night Games” (which was part of the Blackout Anthology), I became enamored with this couple, rooting for their weekend in Vegas to burgeon into something so much more. As the story progresses beyond the confines of Vegas, there are several surprises in store for this couple as they traverse the bumpy road towards happiness. And aside from one storyline component that had me bristling with annoyance, I enjoyed all the ups and downs along the way.
Heartfelt, witty, and sinfully sexy, “Wicked Games” is a perfectly imperfect romance that you won’t soon forget.
Honestly where do I begin this story took me over completely. Every ounce of my mind and emotions became invested into this story. Let me go over a few things but no give any spoilers because Wicked Games is a treat to enjoy from beginning to end. So I did read Dating Games and got to like these characters Chloe and Lincoln. But reading more about them in Wicked Games got me obsessed.
First the hotness level of this book. When you can make me swoon with blush, toes curl and mouth open with drool like a gaping fish I say it is pretty solid on the hotness level. The romance too had me on edge I was ready to fight everyone because that's how badly these I felt these characters were meant to be together. More than chemistry this story had the universe screaming for this pair. Trust me I have so many highlights of romantic words that knocked me out.
Also let me just address kudos to the author because even parts that both Chloe and Lincoln weren't in together had my attention. It made me love these characters more especially Chloe. Gosh did I want to befriend her and all her friends. The story had a raw emotional feeling that people could relate to multiple times I could feel and relate to how the characters felt. Plus the angst just had my stomach in knots.
Wicked Games is the kind of story that just jumps off the pages, consumes your thoughts and takes you with it.
A fun steamy read that sets the stage for an epic set of books. This is just a glimpse into what can happen when you go to Vegas. Hot guy check, instant chemistry check, soulmate um....it's Vegas lets not count on that. But could there really be more than an epic few nights filled with touches you will never forget? The stakes are high but the payout is an ending you can only dream about. The humor in this book is so entertaining I found myself laughing out load several times. It's the perfect mix of steamy romance and humor that hooks you immediately. I had to read this book in one sitting I just couldn't get enough. I adore the secondary characters they had such strong voices in this book. It gives you auch a great connection that you can't help but want everyone to have their own book. I am amazed on how much I love TK's writing it speaks to my soul. I can't wait to devour her next book it's sure to be a winner.
I received an advanced copy of thus book with the promise of an honest review.
We first met Chloe and Lincoln in the short story Night Games (which is the first 12 chapters in this book) and all that did was whet my appetite for more. They had ridiculous chemistry and I knew there was more to their story so of course I wanted more of them.
In typical TK fashion, there is more to the story than just Chloe and Lincoln’s relationship. Chloe has very complicated relationships with both of her parents. Throughout the book she goes through situations with both of them that test her in many ways. Plus she’s not one to ask for help, so to say that she gets overwhelmed at times is an understatement. But she finds help in some unexpected ways.
I love a good forbidden romance story and TK really delivered with this one. I won’t tell you what it is, but I will say that it makes for some extremely sexy time scenes that made me want to take a cold shower. There are also some funny moments that made me laugh out loud and even a few that made me get a bit emotional. So basically this book has everything you could want in a story!
Chloe and Lincoln.....I love that we got more of them after being introduced to them in Night Games. Let's just say I am so glad that what happened in Vegas didn't stay in Vegas and found its way to New York. In true T.K. Leigh fashion she gives you characters that are easy to relate to and that make you take a vested interest in what happens to them throughout the story.
Chloe and Lincoln's paths seem to always be on course to collide but along the way there are bumps in the road that always seem to threaten their happiness. Chloe's difficult past made me feel for her and give me a better understanding of her. There is lots of emotion, lots of chemistry and a roller coaster ride with twists and turns that you won't expect on the way to a happy ever after but the journey is so worth the wait.
