When the Global Allegiance terminated all Cyborgs, rumors were rampant that they still existed, either hidden away with wealthy collectors or—even more scandalous—part of the Cyborg Rebellion.

Marley

Cyborgs were my life but there was only one that had captured my heart.
No one saw his worth.
No one but me.
A cruel twist of fate ripped him away and stole years of my life.
Locked in a cell, I could only see him in my dreams.
Then he found me and my dreams became reality.
Forever by his side was now within my grasp.
Acer is the cyborg of my dreams. He just needs to believe it.

Acer

I’m an abomination.
An unfinished prototype who hated everyone except for her.
My processors refused to stop searching for her until the day I found her and carried her home.
My fabricated heart shouldn’t long for forever. My incomplete frame shouldn’t want to hold her and never let go.
Still there is no denying my desire to belong to her.
But I am hiding secrets and I know it’s only a matter of time before they tear us apart.
I should walk away but I can’t give up the only person who looks at me like I’m whole.
I desperately want to be the cyborg of her dreams but what if I am destined to be the cyborg of her nightmares?

Marley and Acer’s book is book three in The Cyborg Chronicles series. While this book can be read as a stand-alone, for better enjoyment of the story it is recommended to read the books in order.

Kelsey Nicole Price is a midwestern girl who shares her brain with a lovable bunch of cyborgs and a stray alien or two. While other girls were dreaming of Brad Pitt she was crushing hard on a certain android from Star Trek TNG.

As an adult she longed for a cyborg of her own so she decided she'd write him. One blue cyborg turned into a whole bunch of different colored cyborgs and she couldn't be happier that she gets to tell their stories.

When she's not writing she can be found watching Unsolved Mysteries with her hubby, snuggling her two cats, indulging in any kind of dessert and secretly wishing for a pet sloth.

An unfinished cyborg!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💚🖤💙❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎
Character development: ☺️😊😁😉

The Hero: Acer (a.k.a.763-893) - he is the only yellow cyborg in existence. Cyborgs are formed in a vat and when it was determined that no humans would want to own a yellow cyborg, the production of him and his brother was stopped mid cycle. So, he is unfinished, parts of him are just metal with no skin, including part of his face, his arms and more. He also has unfinished or incomplete coding in his processors.

The heroine: Marley - she was a Mechtech for Global Allegiance. She used to be charged with fixing the cyborgs after they were damaged in the experiments. She often worked on 763-893 and would call him sunshine and hum “You are my sunshine” when she worked on him. When the cyborgs were slated for termination and revolted, Marley mistakenly trusted Dr. Rosenfield who faked Marley’s death and kept her prisoner for 30 years, performing experiments on her and keeping her in stasis between experiments.

The story: When the team of cyborgs and humans went to rescue Theo and Reaper from evil Dr. Rosenfield, Acer found Marley nearly dead in a dark cell. He brought her back to the rebellion headquarters and gave her Dax’s serum to save her and turn her into an upgraded human. Marley is now strong and healthy.

Acer knows he has gaps in his programming that have been getting worse every year, it is like a devil on his shoulder giving him bad advice and he knows he can’t keep Marley forever but doesn’t want to give her up now that he has finally found her. I think it is cute how he is ashamed of his half-finished appearance, but she doesn’t see anything wrong with him and sees him as perfect.

There were some surprises in this one but not as much action as in the first two books. It was good but the world building was not quite at the level of the first two books either. Since there was less going on and less action there seemed to be more steamy scenes and I found myself skimming over many of them as I wanted more story and less smut.

There is a very strong romantic element to this book - and hardly anything else. For a cyborg sci-fi romance, I expected a little more story development, especially since this is the third of a series. However, the world-building was practically suspended in this entry since much dealt with the pasts of the main characters. I hope this doesn't seem harsh, because the romance is sweet, and the couple overcome a lot. True love knows no boundaries type of thing. But the action-adventure part of me simply wanted more.

Intense and completely addictive, Acer and Marley have a special kind of love, kind of like the Joker and Harley Quinn, at first you don't see how they could possibly work out, but eventually, you get to see that they really were meant to be together. The story was deep, had layers and so much negative action but it is such a good story that you are compelled to read every word, feel every emotion and worry about the what if potentials. I loved it all.

This pulled all my heartstrings

Acer and Marley 's story was absolutely heartbreaking and uplifting from the very first pages. Acer rescued Marley at the end of Reaper's story. She was his med tech when he was in captivity she was the on!y one to show him kindness and put her life at risk because she was all cyborgs as more that just machines. When the cyborgs escape Acer is told his beloved Marley was killed. Instead the evil Dr. Rosenfield kept her alive and tortured and experimented on her for years. When Marley and Acer are reunited what was once a strong connection become powerful beyond words. But Acer has been carrying a secret that could destroy the love that means more to him than anything else in the world. This is an emotional rollercoaster for all involved but it's a ride you'll want to stay on until the very end. The transformation is Acer goes through is total and Market's heart was the catalyst and their love save them both. There is also some wonderful surprises near the end of the book. I highly recommend this book and I can't wait to read Dax's story next.💖💖💖💖

Wow

I waited for what feels like forever for Acer's story and was not disappointed. I think I cried through over half of it, but I couldn't stop. Some were sad tears but some were happy, but I kept a box of Kleenex near by so it worked out. I just love Acer and Marley and was so happy they found each other, even though their road was rocky and harsh. I've loved this series since I first started reading Dash and can't wait to read each cyborgs story. I can't decide which model I want for myself, I love them all.. Maybe a Military Model that is the size of a Tank? Or my own Blueberry? They all deserve love and beanie babies!

So far this is the best one...this one was more emotional and raw.

Acer was brought out of the vat incomplete and yellow...not understanding why he was yellow he took it as a sign of ugliness with the reinforcement of human tech making fun of him but it was always that one MedTech that hummed You are My sunshine to him - Marley.

Marley was left behind and used and abuse as experiments but what kept her going was the dream of Acer...until he found her.

This was what you called a love story...of two broken people (yes I consider Acer a person) that fought and found each other and knew that the way to survive was together and not apart.

Lord oh Lord I wanted to like this but when you find yourself skimming you know it's a dud. However I did like the event that happens near the end. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. I mean seriously I need some sort of explanation of how it was possible. Give me something, make up some science-y junk summary with some technical made up words that explains all of this. I'll believe but you have to give me something.
But here I am a sucker who just downloaded the next book in the series. There has to be a gem in here somewhere. There always is that one book in any series that just blows you away. Still looking.

I liked that Acer & Marley's story, but there seemed to be some things seemed to be missing from the story. The "benevolent" voice who stopped other MechTechs from attacking Marley, but Dr. Shaw didn't know how badly her creations were being treated? I liked the story, but didn't fully buy in like I did the first two.

Sadly, this is where I stop the series. The premise of book 4 feels too far fetched, and book 5 felt even more wrong. I loved that all three of the books I've read have been very different while in the same world.

My favorite book of the series. A roller-coaster of emotions with great characters that had to overcome great pain, torture and humiliation, too many years spent apart from one another in order to find love and happiness. But at the end of all the drama, it was worth it. Great read and great addition to the series!

So good

Acer and Marley’s story was so good! I was waiting on this one after the first two and it did not disappoint! I loved how Marley was able to overcome and move forward with Acer and the sacrifices these two were willing to make for each other almost broke my heart. Can’t wait for the next one!

Awesome book

I really enjoyed this step back into the world of the Cyborg Chronicles. Acer and Marley were meant for each other and it was so good that they could overcome all the bad that had happened to them and finally find love together. I recommend you read this book! I can’t wait for the next one in the series!

I like this series but I feel like it glosses over or just practically skips over the ptsd that the individuals feel. Its mentioned but no time lapse to heal or explanation how it suddenly just comes on hard the goes away in the next sentence.
That being said, i like the series but it seems to have one foot in as a dark sci-fi romance and a fluff book. There are a lot of sex scenes, which is too much for me as there isn't enough story to balance out. I'll read the remaining of the series because I want to know what happens to the other characters but its not a series I would buy.

Acer was a super grump and I was looking forward to how his story played out. I love me a brooding man. However, this wasn’t quite what I imagined it would be… he ended up getting reset with a sunshine personality. It’s sweet and fine but a part of me was a little disappointed.

Spice: 3/5 doesn’t happen too often but not bad.

Loved this book

Can’t wait for the next one. I love that both the characters grow and change but never become truly perfect just perfect for each other. I love HEA stories that still have substance and a twisting plot this is one of those stories.
