I gave him my heart. He gave me the seed.

We are the last survivors of a damned mission to the outer reaches of the solar system. I am a fertility doctor with one task: keep the species from going extinct. We are just six months away from our destination. What could go wrong?

One by one, the lights burn out. Our engines die. The entire space shuttle sways from a breach. There is an intruder.

I gasp, run, and try to fight, but it’s not enough to make him stop.

Starship T1-95 to Earth. Do you copy?

I was left quivering in his arms, broken and entirely his. He said I was his mate for life. He told me I was an… omega.

In space, no one can hear you scream. But that doesn’t mean he won’t try to break the rule.

*Dark gateways and portals to different realms. One HOT alien beast set on taking and claiming the only woman brave enough to explore his natural habitat. Seed is a full-length, dark sci-fi omegaverse romance. Note: this novel is downright filthy, wild, and contains a HEA you won’t want to miss!

Hmm where was your editor?

I actually enjoyed most of this book although it was darker than I usually like. My problem with this book is near the end when she doesn't know if her child is male or female. Julian or Juliana. The wording of some of the sentences was atrocious. I can't say I would recommend this book to anyone but with some proper editing someone else might enjoy it.

Lost In Space🚀

Adult Sci-fi👽 Romance and Adventure🔪🔫

A dying 🌎Earth launches ships🚀 into space with volunteers to try to find a new planet to colonize.
I don't understand why hardened criminals would be sent, but that's the premise of this book.

Mia💃 is a medical officer on a ship full of dangerous male prisoners. She spends a lot of time collecting DNA and other bodily fluids from the prisoners. For six years the ship has been traveling towards a distant habitable planet. When they arrive, Mia💃 realizes the planet is gone, destroyed💔.

Only one "man" remains, Talis🐺🔪🔫, a huge Alpha male, his small ship🚀 almost adrift in space, but he has just enough fuel to attach his ship🚀 to the one the colonists are in.

He is looking for his Omega, to start life again. Mia💃 is that woman......

ARC Received from Booksprout🌱
I also got the book with KU.

This book was interesting but at the same time, the author got wrapped up in having Talis be just a rude crude guy that thought he was God's gift. The story was pretty good until Talis🐺🔪🔫 and Mia💃💋 got together, then it got lost and degenerated into crudeness and a bloodbath of the other colonists by the murderer Cade👺, the worst of the prisoners. Cade 👺 plans on taking Mia💃💋 from Talis🐺🔪🔫.

The book jumped around a lot in a disjointed fashion, with too many ideas being presented in too short of a book. It made the book hard to follow and confusing at times. I found myself skipping pages back and forth trying to figure out what in the 🌎world was going on. I read this because It was supposed to be an Omegaverse novel and I generally like them. This one, not so much.

Honestly... I feel bad rating this so poorly but it honestly read like a first, maybe second, draft; not a published work. I'm pretty sure it is my only 1-star review.

With some good editing, it could be okay. Premise was interesting enough. Characters were flat.

Someone asked "where was your editor?" In their review, and I had to agree. Line editing and just general story editing.

The entire book was confusing, details were not conveyed well at all and the book felt jumpy. I honestly read so many scenes where I was left so confused about what was happening. Also, a lot of telling vs showing.

If this had been just a smutty read, I could get past limited world building, character development, and plot. But there was only like 1.5 sex scenes. And they weren't doing it for me?

*SPOILER* The level of poor editing: after the character has her baby, she actually goes back and forth between he and she and calls the baby 2 different names. I mean... a ctrl+f for the Male name would have fixed that. Just makes me think the author didn't care about this work and invested no time editing.

Confusing

Usually I don’t like to leave bad reviews but this book is incredibly confusing and disjointed. It jumps from spot to spot with no clear seems, the plot wasn’t substantial enough nor was the characters in any way relatable.

A futile experiment to keep the human race going once we've destroyed our home. It's hopeless, they aren't going to make it. It's just a pointless mission to give them false hope.

Mia is on a spaceship with convicts, collecting samples. She is barren and will never help to populate the new planet. A particularly nasty inmate - Cade - has his eyes on Mia and all the ways he can hurt her. A breach on the ship causes panic amongst everyone. Mia and the captain try to figure out who or what is on the ship. The alien protects Mia from Cade.

Talis, the last of his kind recognizes Mia as an Omega. Someone he can share his DNA with. To repopulate his planet and species. When he tells her, she insists that she is barren. But her scent tells him otherwise. After mating and knotting her, he goes after Cade. Only Cade finds him and Mia first. Will Talis be able to save Mia and their unborn child or will Cade kill them both?

I didn't care for Talis at all. He was a dickbag. There's arrogance and then there is Talis. I'm not saying I wouldn't sit on his lap, I'm just saying some of the way he treats Mia is a little dickbaggish. He could take it down a few notches and be okay. But his DNA isn't programmed that way. UGH, What am I thinking?? It's a quick story, the sex is quick too.

The hate Cade had in him, radiated off of him like flies from a pile of crap. He was just a mean nasty person, but he had it figured out before anyone else. He saw the signs and knew that it was all a one way ticket.

I didn't like this at all

First and foremost this was the most creepiest book ever. The guy, whose name I refuse to remember, spent majority of the book pretty much abusing the supposed Heroine. A lady who pretty much abandoned everything and gave herself over to desire for a kid. Granted, kids are nice and all, but when you are one of two females on a ship off death row inmates then it is probably best to find a new obession. Speaking of said inmates. While they do explain a little about why they are on the ship it still doesn't make any sense. For one, these guys are criminls and yet it is up to two ladies to make sure that they stay in line. This is something even the h comes out and says was a terrible plan. She is constantly talking anout how unprepared and basically weak the captian is. So of course when all heck breaks lose they are both making mistake after mistake. Honestly this was just a freaky fetish someone has. Maybe the author wrote this after a drunken night of adult DnD. Either way I do not like this and completely understand why so many of the rating are 1 star.

Confusing and Disappointing

I did not enjoy this book. I read the entire thing hoping it would get better - it didn't! The characters were not well developed. The plot made no sense. I had too many questions (never good when reading for enjoyment). There should have been more info on who these people were...what was Talis civilization really like? More definition of an Alpha and Omega. Was he a clone? What happened to Earth? Why were two women the only guards/caretakers on a ship full of criminals? Why criminals? Who was Cade? Was he just crazy , and if so, why would you want to create children from his sperm? What were they doing with their daily sessions - were they harvesting sperm and eggs to create and store embryos? NONE OF THESE QUESTIONS WERE FULLY ANSWERED TO MY SATISFACTION. And the sex scenes were not sexy....

I felt lost

The book started good, it had potential. But it was seriously slow and I kept loosing the thread.
Constantly I would feel like there were descriptions missing, sometimes I felt like I'd missed a whole paragraph and had to re-read pages.

Character description was pretty nonexistent, and that made it really difficult to connect.
And what there was of descriptions felt choppy.

The language use often made no sense to me, and there was a lot of spelling errors.

All in all I'm sad to say that I seriously struggled to even finish the book! :'(

Stunningly Dark and Terrorising

This book was more dark then some other omegaverses. It shows that no matter what type of species you are, we are all basically the same. We want the same thing. To love, hurt, fear, and just live our lives. We got to see that our passions can make the best we can be or The worst of the worst. The book was woven together so good that I couldn't put it down.

Alien intruder

3 stars

I found this book to be interesting. At times I could imagine living aboard a ship in out of space, and other times I found the writing hard to follow.

The character dynamics were very up and down too. I understand they were in different stages of madness, but it was a little difficult to follow at times.

Lastly I loved the hea.

Dark Love

This book was addicting as well as disturbing. Trust that if it is described as a dark romance, it's no joke. Go in with your eyes open and expect them to bug out several times throughout the story.

I was given an ARC from Booksprout so I'm not going to review grammar/continuity errors because they should be fixed by publication.

I expected to really like this book, but it was just so convoluted and verbose.  I found myself skimming through the sheer excess of words; it was just so overdone.  There is a good story there, but it's difficult to find.  The writing felt stilted and the characters seemed stunted by the verbiage.

The book is set in the new future.  Humans have destroyed the planet and an expedition has been sent into space in order to try to save humanity.  Mia, the heroine, is a fertility specialist who is trying to see if she can create life in outer space.  A lot of time (and words) is given to try to explain the situation, yet it still makes no sense; convicts are allowed to roam around due to their semen, but the good people are stored in cryogenic sleep pods.  I'm also unclear about the number of woman on board and if they are convicts too.  Mia and Juliana, the captain, are pathetically unequal to the task of leading the expedition.

Talis, the hero, is an alien.  His back story often seems to shift, but that could just be an unedited ARC continuity issue.  So much information was given about the two leads that I expected to feel more for them, but the characters fell flat amongst the words.

This is really a 2 1/2 star book, but I'm rounding up because the storyline is interesting.  There's a good story under all the rambling, the author just needs a really good editor to curtail garrulousness.

There is explicit language and sex so be warned.  I am including a trigger warning due to the violence towards women and attempted rape.  There is no cheating.

I received an ARC from Booksprout in exchange for my unbiased review.

I found this dark alien romance story entertaining. Life on Earth is dying so they sent people out in space to repopulate by spaceships or portals. In this story we have Mia a fertility doctor on a ship run by the Onyx Corp that is traveling to the Nyelan universe to colonize. As the fertility doctor it's her job to collect samples for the future of mankind since infertility from space travel is a issue. Along their journey the crew has some of the people contained in cryno's and prisoners amongst them, they get invaded by Talis, a Nyelan and the last of his kind. Talis race fought against the Sankarian's rule and lost when their world was blown up, so he's a wanted alien. When Talis sees Mia he wants to mate with her but a prisoner Cade also wants her. Cade is known for his cruelty when on Earth and when he escapes and is free roaming the ship, Mia and the Captain Julian look for him. During the search Talis captures Mia, and now she has to decide who's the bigger threat, Talis or Cade? This has graphic violence of death and murder thrown into this dark romance. There is also some mix up on the sex of their child in the final chapters of once born it's a she then a he that needs to be cleared up. (example Juliana/Julian). It does end with a happy ending with the first group (Primal) integrated into this story. I volunteer to read and review this ARC.

What a brilliant story this was to read, i was thoughly engaged all the way though this. Penelope Woods has done an excellent job to say the least. I just loved her Alpha Alien, and as for all the other characters that were in this story, they all stood out.. both good and bad. And what i loved, really loved (as a women) was the fact that she had the baby within a day. I though omg that is such a wonderful thing
Mia was on a ship, signed up by Onyx, travelling with them was a crew and inmates, her job was in a lab.. , but it didnt look like they were going to make their destination. Then out of the blue an Alien appears in the cargo stealing their gear. But it looks like he is injured. Talis is from Nyelan, coming across the ship he knew his mate was their. Theres a physcopath on board and he wants Mia as well. Can he say them both
I also have to admit that out of the books so far, this has to be my favourite and i am thoughly reccommending this for all the women who just love the Alpha male. I am so hoping there will be another in this series, it will definately be interesting to keep a watch out to find out more! Five stars

Mia is a fertility specialist and when life on earth starts dying people are sent to space to repopulate. However things don't go as expected. Talis is an alien race and he manages to get on board their ship. When he comes across Mia he knows that she is the perfect human to be his mate and he will fight anyone for her. When some prisoners escape and cause some problems during Talis's arrival everyone is at risk. Talis gets Mia alone and tells her his plans for her. Something about Talis speaks to her and she doesn't fight him anymore. But will they be able to get to safety before they others come to attack Talis? What will become of them?

This is an amazing story of science fiction that will take you beyond your imagination. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I will admit that this somewhat dark Sci-Fi romance certainly caught my attention & kept it. The plot is well-thought out and written with some suspenseful events & occurrences. The characters are unique & well-developed & have complex individual personalities which results in verbal and/or physical confrontations.
There is: a female fertility doctor (Mia) on a space ship traveling to colonize another planet but problems occur when a Nyelan alien (Talis) invades the ship & discovers Mia is his mate then adding to the problem there is a dangerous prisoner escapee (Cade Fryer) & he wants Mia, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, aliens, humans, danger, threats, violence, conflict, murder, injuries, aggression, manipulations, fear, explosions, wormholes, unexpected results, sanctuary, verbal banter, explicit sexual scenes & a interesting epilogue.

Mia is on a deep space mission when Talis boards her ship.
Mia was the doctor on The Fertility Ark a Project Onyx ship carrying humans and DNA samples to a distant planet called Nyela from a dying Earth. As they had left they has witnessed the Hurricanes building up and the land masses being swallowed by the sea. There was a Cryo-chamber full of the rich and powerful who had bought their way on board, the crew and the rest who were criminals but she had found a friend in the captain Juliana. Then an alien boarded the ship. Talis was a survivor of his world Nyela being enslaved and eventually destroyed feeling he had no future then when boarded the unknown ship he scented her.

This was a some what science fiction alien romance story. It's the story of fertility expert DR. Mia heading toward a new planet they think will be able to make as their new home. Her crew are criminals being given a second chance and who she has been getting samples from for the last six years. An alien boards the ship looking for supplies but ends up finding his mate. Talis is a Nyelan warrior the last of his kind. There's twists, turns, drama, suspense, danger, action, mystery, surprises, courage, passion, love and a great romance you don't want to miss this book. Grab your copy to see if they get their HEA!!!! I can't wait to read more!

A disaster waiting to happen.
by sewsummore

I was not impressed with this book for the first couple of chapters but the further into the book the more interesting it became. For me the idea of using criminals as crewmen on a space ship meant to be carrying the future of humanity was just a disaster waiting to happen. This impacted on my enjoyment of the book, however the later chapters of the book had enough drama and suspicion to keep me reading. Overall the story line was too implausible for me to believe.

Unfortunately the story makes little sense, and the synopsis is the most coherent writing of this work. There are mistakes on nearly every page, missing or wrong words that mess with the sentence coherence (reminds me of auto-completion errors on digital devices); leaps in plot with little or no description or lead in to that particular plot path; and childish perspectives, and writing/language so off that I'm fairly certain this book is a bad translation of a work originally written in a foreign language. I tried to stick with it, but just couldn't make it past 20%. Simply a waste of time to download and start.

A dark and steamy sci-fi romance intended for the 18+ audience and definitely not for the easily offended. There is violence and bloodshed and a psychotic criminal on the loose. Time is running out for Mia as the ship's crew is primed for mutiny. Then there is Talis the dominant alien intruder whose priorities changed the minute he sensed Mia. A harsh storyline that has its sweet and romantic moments between Talis and Mia. I really loved this book and its characters.

I enjoyed this story but I was confused with a few things like why would they let the criminals run around freely on the ship and not be in stasis like the others, yes there were mistakes but that should be fixed before this book goes live. This story centres around Mia who is a fertility doctor who’s been sent in to space to try to save mankind and Tali’s an alien who is an intruder on the ship he finds Mia and he tells her that she is an omega and his mate. Be warned there is violence against women and some pretty explicit sex in this story.

Couldn't finish it

This book had some interesting things but it was so full of plot holes and inconsistencies that I just had to stop reading it. You shouldn't have to work hard to follow the story.
I think the author either wrote it and did some sectional editing without rereading the entire thing, or was intrigued by two different themes in the relationship and plot and struggled to pick one.
With the help of a good editor this has the potential to be polished up into a decent story.

It would be higher

I really enjoyed this book which I didn't realise was the second in a series. This did not detract from the story, the spelling, grammar, wrong sex and names mean I can only give it 3 it would be a four with out the errors.

World is dying a ship full of volunteers head off into space with a lot of passengers in stasis. Most of the crew are convicts. We follow the story of Mia & Talis. Both have secrets. A number of twist and turns make for an enjoyable short read

Earth 2.0

Seed is book two in the series Alpha Unknown and book six in the series Alien Mates by author Penelope Woods. Ok so this one is a bit far out there - it’s totally wild. Maybe a little unhinged yet absolutely worth the read. You’ll get to meet previous characters and the storyline set it up that there’s so much more to be read - at least that’s the suggestion I got. Anywho, grab a drink, find a comfy spot and you’ll need quite- this one takes some concentration.
Enjoy!!

WITH did I just read

The book started off well enough. Then I started noticing the inconsistencies a change in the scene with no understanding how it happened, him where it should have read her things of that sort.
Only at the same time that is happening the story and dialogue jumps into the deep in of sci-fi with extra plot twist that make absolutely no sense.
There is just way too much going on here, it puts the reader on overload.

Seed: A Dark Sci-Fi Omegaverse Romance (Alphas Unknown Book 2)

Mia was on a station that was supposed to be the last of the human race sent to colonize on another planet, but the crew wasn't exactly people that you could openly trust. After six years they still hadn't reached their destination and their problems were becoming a bit overwhelming and then they find a very unexpected visitor who just might turn into someone they may have needed for a very long time.Very Good read !!!!!!
