I can't get past the whole "daddy" dynamic. I've never been one for that sort of thing and it's so cringy to me to read this in regards to an alien. Oh, lord help me! I've fallen down an alien romance black hole and can't get out. >.<

Huh

Yeah, as much as I love this author I could not get past the forced shower scene. I don't want things like that in my head so stopped at chapter 5...

DNF at chapter 4.

Why? Well, sexual assault is no joke. I am so incredibly disappointed. I thought, judging by book 1 and how much T'Chok gave T'Lan a hard time about proper behaviour, that he would be a better version of him. Nope!!!!

Context: 19 year old girl (I'm over 30 now, give me a break 😂) gets taken from her home because she was out after curfew, and got off lightly because she had a "good reason" - punishment? Imprisonment for 2 years. She is obviously traumatised, especially by the inappropriate behaviour of the guards, and goes on a hygiene and hunger strike. What does our "hero" do? Sympathise with her? Get her counselling? No sirree, he invades her personal space inside her bunk, throws her over his shoulder to forcefully make her shower, and touches her in intimate places as he does so. I honestly don't know whether he continues with the showering or what happens after, I was that grossed out by his pawing. I'm so triggered by this I'm ready to cry, and this has never even happened to me thank God. How must this be for survivors?

I’ve devoured every single book in this series (so far) in record time because they are just amazingly done! Everything one would look for in this genre. The romance is always sweet and satisfying, the aliens gentle and... alien. And, the heroines have me rooting for them! Bring on the next book, Ms. Phillips!

Each alien is a little different in their approach to their L'chka and T'chok is a dom but caring and gentle all the same. Good story, good world building.

Hmmm...ALL OF THE STARS

So, It's been a couple of months since I read the 1st book. I read that a 3 star and decided at the time not to continue the series. Well, today I decided to read the 2nd book. There isn't a single complaint I have about this book. I love the characters, the world building, and the story. Not to mention the steam level is around active super Volcano. I read my review for the 1st book and not sure why I rated a 3 star. I'm probably going to go back and re read it. Maybe I was just in a mood that day. Either way, I loved this book and any mediately downloading the next one.

DNF at chapter 5.

This didn't feel right to start with... and then the whole 'daddy' thing... that can fuck right off.

Nasty & abusive.

Shame cos T'chok seemed OK in the last book.

Because she was out past curfew getting medicine for her little brother, Rachel now finds herself a prisoner of the aliens occupying earth. Determined to escape to get back to care for her brother, Rachel takes some rather unorthodox measures. Refusing to eat and not showering are at the top of her list! In walks commander T'chok. One glance at Rachel and he's not just smitten, he thinks he's met his mate! This leads to a very significant clean up of his beloved and moving the humans earth side from the ship. Rachel, along with the help of some new friends, comes up with a brilliant escape plan. Thus enters some major action in Alien Prisoner. And the chase is on. T'chok is beside himself. Will he find his mate unharmed? Will he get in trouble with his superiors for violating their rules on waiting? Will Rachel be able to find her brother?

Alien Prisoner had everything: hot alpha alien male, desperate earth woman, bad guys, adventure, and some very steamy times with T'chok! Great addition to the Alien Invasion series. I love Honey Phillips! 4.5 stars

Rachel
I was told to be accommodating. I didn't bathe. Didn't wash my hair. Didn't eat. Wouldn't change my clothes. I needed to get back home to my little brother. There was no one there to take care0f him.
I was doing fine until he walked in. The new Commander. I couldn't take my eyes off of him. For the first time in my life, I was affected by the sight of a man/male.
T'chok
My commander's L'chka asked that he take care of the women who had been picked up for violating curfew. When he went to introduce himself and to check on them, he saw her. The dirtiest little thing he had ever seen. She was his.
Honey Phillips has done it again. HEA and no cheating. I loved this book. I couldn't put it down!

I love happy endings.
Rachel has got to be one of my favorites.
She made everyone, especially T'chok work for her trust. She was so brave, stubborn and oh so perfect for T'chok. Then their dynamic...ooooh that was HOT. I woyld highly recommend this book.
I can NOT wait for Sarah's book.
Happy reading!

Five AH-mazing Stars!

From start to finish, I was enthralled with Rachel and T'chok. I love the dynamic of their relationship! The way the author built this story up and brought it to life was like watching a movie play out. I couldn't put it down. This story was too good to stop!

Fine new book in the Alien Invasion series!
I love Rachel! She has been taking care of others since she was nine years old. It’s really nice to let someone else take care of her. What a creative, impetuous, and brave young woman! When she decides to do something, she lets nothing stand in her way - not even common sense. Watching her relationship with T’chok, her Yehrin guard/caretaker/mate, develop is quite a lesson in social dynamics. He’s a bit rough for my taste, but his devotion to R’chel is undeniable.

These Alien Invasion books are very well written and the storyline continues from one book to another. I also enjoy seeing past characters. However, there’s just too much sex for me so a little more story would be good.

I am going to start this review saying that if you don't care for the "daddy" or "daddy dom kink" in your books then don't pick this up. It's probably not for you.

Rachel was a fun heroine to read. She certainly had her TSTL moments but I was still rooting for her to continue on with these dumb moments because otherwise, she wouldn't have been nearly as interesting. T'Chok was your typical alpha male alien with a bit of a marshmallow center. I really enjoyed watching their relationship develop. The sexy times were definitely steamy and blush-inducing.

I think fans of Ruby Dixon would enjoy Phillips' stories. I know I plan on reading more in the future!

Side note: I'm 80% sure I picked this one up because of Suzanne from UTC book blog (like most of my other alien romances) so if you need alien romance in your life then she is your recommendation queen.

The plot wasn't bad, but the role-playing and gross sex made this a NOPE! For me.

PSA: please disclose this type of thing up front so we readers know what we're heading into, okay? Book 3 (read first) was pretty good, so I looked for more. Book 1 (read second) was questionable, but I persevered. Book 2 was nothing I would have ever started if I knew where it was heading. There are people who love this type of thing (not me--you do you), so make it clear up front somehow. Euphemisms are fine--we can take a hint.

So the whole Daddy/Little Girl was a hard NOPE for me. It was just really odd, especially coming from an alien?!??? That really turned me off, big time. I did finish the book to get the story arc moving along, but any time the pants came off? skim, skim, skim until they were done. I think, if you removed some of the very LONG smexy parts, and removed the whole Daddy disaster, this would have been an ok read. I feel like, because it's KU, I will finish the series, even if I skim through it in 30 min.

Love this book. As with most of Ms. Phillips books, her aliens look like aliens (never going to pass for human!) which is great. She packs plenty of action, adventure and steam in her books and Alien Prisoner is no exception. Great characters and a fast pace story line keep the pages turning till the last page. Enjoy!

Just no!

I got to15% and had to stop. I can not read and get into a book where the H treats the h like a little girl. In turn she calls him daddy. Just no. There is nothing sexy about that at all.

This makes me sad- there will be spoilers

I love this author. She rarely misses for me but this series is definitely harder for me to get into. I really haven’t enjoyed the female characters as much as I usually do and there is something really uncomfortable about the idea that these aliens believe they are granted some right to force a relationship. In fact the main male basically says: you get a choice, take a mate (which he silently says to himself will be him- he will convince her) or spend two years in prison for trying to save her brother- which is what she was incarcerated for. That does not warm the heart or make it endearing. In fact it sets up a pretty brutal choice- screw one of these aliens that have leered at you and held you hostage to the point you have starved yourself and not taken a shower so they would leave you be or spend more time in a prison away from your loved ones. How does that make for a good foundation to a relationship? How does that make this male/ these aliens the heroes?

There is also a daddy/little girl kink I find really disturbing. Granted I have never liked that type of thing and was bothered by it every time she said daddy and he called her little girl. Just not my thing. I was also uncomfortable with the character of Bambi. I just didn’t like how we had to have “the slutty b!tch” character. And how she was dealt with again left me rather sick.

Rachel had potential but quickly made me want to smack her almost every time she opened her mouth. The only part of her character that I connected with was her love for her brother. T’chok… his introduction into the story was less than stellar. The forced shower and subsequent actions that happened were not great. He really did come out looking worse for it. Had he put her in the shower and turned on the water then left- maybe it would have been fine, but that wasn’t what happened.

I didn’t really feel anything for this couple. I did enjoy Sarah, who was the only one that made me tolerate Rachel, so I will try her book. All and all, I don’t know if this is the series for me. And that makes me sad because I love Honey Phillips’ books. Honestly some of my favorites come from her. This just hasn’t been a hit for me.

I really enjoyed this book with the introduction of new characters and getting a chance to get updates on familiar ones. I like the balance of Rachel's character in that she is independent but also not unwilling to accept help and share her burdens. Of course T'chok is great and just as protective as I thought he would be.
So why does this book get three stars you may ask ... well two main reasons
#1 I really don't like the idea that the male character needs to convince the female character that she does actually want him, especially when he forces her to take a shower and basically, in my opinion, forces his attentions on her. Force her to take a shower, fine - opportunity for a funny encounter and a sweet beginning for the two of them... Turn it into a very direct sexual encounter when the whole reason she wasn't showering was to avoid that, tips the scales a little too much into forced attentions.
#2 Don't refer to him as your 'daddy' yuck... At first, when she was saying it in a teasing manner because he is trying to take care of her it was fine, nice to see a little banter back and forth but move that into every sexual encounter where she is begging 'daddy' that is just weird, especially when her brother starts calling him dad. It's a little too incestuous for me ... calling her little girl was borderline since they do mention a bigger age gap between them but with her returning the comments like she does yeah it came across as weird and uncomfortable. Also along that same line T'chok is mentioned as this super caring, putting her needs first guy but he gets very dominant during the sexy encounters saying she 'will' handle it and not being able to hold back ... What goes on in the bedroom is up to every individual's taste but when putting it in black and white for others to see it's important to make it consensual and not ever giving the impression that something was forced on the other.
Anyway that is my opinion - if those few little things had been slightly modified I would have definitely enjoyed it as much if not more then the first one in the series.

P file troupe killed the story

I had high hopes for this book since my heart was already greatly invested in my boy T'Chok. This man and his buddy Tren deserve happiness 100%.

Anyway, our leading lady Rachel wasn't too bad, even though her personality was dumpster quality — I felt for her and her plight to get to her brother. However, that luster quickly dulled once Rachel started playing the whole "give me orgasms and leave me alone" bit. It's this really frustrating theme that's very prevalent in feminist fantasy.

What really made the quality of the book tank was the fact that A 15 YR OLD was not only sexualized, but that whole vulgar /whore-like personality is the summation of Lizzie's character.

Let that sink in. She is a BARELY 15 yr old girl and her given characterization IS sex icon. In A BREEDING PROGRAM. Argue that they move her to a different set-up all you want, but Lizzie stays with the "breeding women". Take that how you will.

Now that that's established, it shouldn't have been a surprise when the alien men quickly single the girl out and objectify her many times. The story makes it worse by taking her virginal purity and outfitting it in the dressings of a harlot. To say the morality of the plot wasn't jeopardized would be like ignoring a cops sirens in traffic.

Needless to say, I skimmed through the book just to see if T'Chok got an adequate ending. He was the only reason I stayed as long as I did.

I will give Sarah's book a chance, but Lizabet's book? All I'll say is, with how taboo this situation was with her 15 year old ass? I'm not surprised the decision was made to put her into a polyamorous relationship — because again, what morals? 🤢🤮

A great read !!!

I enjoyed this next installment of the ALIEN Invasion series. In this book T'Chok , a Yehrin Warrior from the previous book , has accepted the position of looking after all of the young women imprisoned for breaking curfews , and other small infractions. As the Yehrin conquer planets , they hope to have females to breed with . They do not force them , but , after a 6month waiting period called the FORBIDDEN cycle , they hope that the females choose one of them . As their are plenty of females that have been arrested , the Yehrin need some one responsible and honorable.
T'Chok is an older Warrior, who never even thought about finding a mate. On his planet , females and healthy births are extremely rare. And where the births are successful, only makes seem to thrive.

Once T'Chok enters the breeding compound, he comes face to face with his mate, his L'Chaka.

Rachel is a young girl from Montana, who has a younger brother that needs his medicine. She risks being out after curfew for him, and actually does get caught . Since she is an attractive young female , she is taken to the breeding compound. She rebels in her own way , and of course , that is attractive to certain males . ......
T'Chok does not want to dishonor his people , but he finds it very hard to not be close to his women.
So, how will he keep his hands off of her for the allotted time ??
And how will she keep her distance from him......
This book was a fun read , and we even get to see some old friends from the previous book !!
Can't wait for the Next one !!!

It will make you cringe and ugly face

This author uses the "c" word, if you don't like that this isn't for you.
This couple isn't a couple, they're an improbable mess. They literally don't have even one single conversation of note before he's diddling her, and then confessing his love. It unrealistic and sad.
Rape is once again used as a climax point in this story when it's unrealistic and not needed.
The H literally screws her hours after she is almost raped, and she says she's glad. Not because she wants to erase what happened to her. Unrealistic and very jarring in the book.
The use of Daddy and Little Girl could have been freat if there was anything underpinning those titles, but there isn't so its very cringy.
They have sex with a ten year old sleeping a few feet away, and they weren't quiet.
She runs away, another bad trope.
This story took a H I was excited to read about and utterly destroyed the honor that was so much a part of him in the first book. He even knows it but throws it out tge window on a 19 year old h who definitely doesn't act like a 19 year old.
Nothing in this book works.
The stringing of sentences and paragraphs shows tge authors writing talents but the story and plot are a mess.
Also a lot of grammar and wrong word choices, including missing words.
Pass on this series, two books in and its an unrealistic romp for bad sex and worst story telling.

nothing wrong with kinks

I found the story well written with few grammatical mistakes. The wording of a few sentences were a bit confusing but didn’t take me out of the story. Parts of the story moved too quickly, like Lizabet attaching herself to the main characters so quickly.

I think the heroine’s realization that she had a Little Girl persona could have been better explained.

There are several ratings of “readers” complaining that the Daddy/Little Girl kink is incestuous or abusive, but I also noticed those “readers” said they had to skip parts. I think you will find if you read more closely that fulfilling that kink is part of fulfilling an emotional need that one or both partner requires. “Yet as he continued to tend to her, a feeling of safety and comfort crept over her. He was so much bigger than she was that she felt like a child and it was oddly soothing.” It fulfills her need to be cared for by someone else since she had been acting as the adult of her household since she was nine. Yes, she’s young at 19, but she’s been acting adult for many years and now needs care from someone trustworthy, and she feels the T’chok is her person.

The DLg kink isn’t one of mine, but I respect that others have different needs than me. Be respectful and keep your mouths shut if you haven’t educated yourself first.

Rate the story on quality of writing rather than personal preference.

So the Alien's have come to Earth once again to find breeders. They are dying off and need to replenish the population and what a better place than Earth. They come in peace and then take over. If you drive past curfew you are sent to a detention center. It's here that Rachel meets, I forget his name. She is not going down quietly, she's going down like a pre-teen who's been told she stinks. Oh wait, an Alien and the other females around her told her that. Good one Rachel! But the older alien that is interested in her forces the shower on her. Then things with Rachel's family fall apart and her brother goes missing. But her dead beat mom doesn't give a crap, so Rachel needs to go find him. Once she does, Rachel, her bro Benji, her Alien mate, and another young survivor Lizbeth all stay together.

Why didn't Lizbeth go home to her family? She had one.

What was done with Rachel & Benji's parents?

For me, this book was too drawn out. I got bored after 50% and started skimming, I was tired of hearing about poor Benji and her crappy family. We've hashed that out chapters ago. Move onto the action. The writing was okay. I've read better Alien books and worse. So for me this sits right in the middle.

50 shades of gray!

Alien Prisoner: Alien Invasion Book 2
By Honey Phillips
Kindle unlimited purchase
Ever since the United Worlds building was attacked there has been a curfew. Rachel knew the penalty for being caught after curfew but she had no choice her brother needed his medicine. Sure enough, she was caught. Now 3 weeks later she is on one of the alien ships a prisoner and all she can do is worry about her brother.
We were introduced to T’chok in book 1 when he had the honor to protect Emily. He was given the job to take over the women prisoners. He knew it would be a difficult position but he never realized his honor would be tested like it was.
I loved this couple and enjoyed their story. But I think some of it was hard for me to get around. Book 1 and this book was very different. Yes, it's two different couples. Where book 1 was romantic, book 2 was more 50 shades of grey with a lot of "daddy" thrown in. Now I enjoyed the book just had some trouble with this "bedroom(sexual)" part to the book itself. Hopefully, with book 1 being different book 3 will be also.
