IT is one of my favorite movies ever and I was so excited to see that there was a behind the scenes book and I needed to read is as soon as possible. There were moments while reading this that I found myself tearing up simply because I've been watching the kid cast grow up and I feel so proud of them. I call Jack Dylan Grazer's character (Eddie) my son and seeing how small he was in those photos versus how he looks now made me emotional. I also love Bill Skarsgård so much and anything involving him is a plus in my book. If you are a fan of the franchise then I highly suggest not only adding this to your TBR as soon as possible, but adding it to your collection!

4.5 ⭐

It was giving me fomo to read the book because I'm watching the series Welcome to Derry and I felt I needed more about this universe.

I quite liked the book, although I felt there were things we already knew, and I needed more behind-the-scenes photos from the movie rather than just pictures you literally find online. Even so, I can't give it less than 4 stars because this book and movie mean everything to me.

IT is my favorite book and set of movies of all time, and as someone so completely invested in the story, I am so happy to have picked this up. This book was a love letter to the fans, and it was so cool to get to see even more behind the scenes. At this point, I will take literally any IT content I can get, and this story and the characters will stick with me forever.

Okay so, admittedly, it's pretty difficult to properly rate a movie companion critically but... what the hell, I loved this so much and I had so much fun reading it. It gave me further appreciation of both the book and the movie, especially the characters. So yeah. Five stars, idc.

"My mom made me an artist the day that she let three-ýear-óld me paint on the walls of the kitchen, with no restrictions. My dad made me a film lover by retelling to me all the movies he wasn't able to take me to. Stephen King taught me how to tell a story -how to love your characters and how to immerse an audience into a world of emotions" -Andy Muschietti

The book itself is gorgeously put together. It has a great array of photos, storyboards, sketches and stills that should satisfy those looking for behind the scenes and production content.

As far as text goes, there are definitely some interesting bits of background information from the cast and crew surrounding locations and how certain significant scenes came about but a lot of the text is also filler. You'll read a lot about scenes from the movies as they play out which, if you've bought this book, you probably already know quite intimately so it feels a bit unnecessary at times. I would like to have had more in depth interviews with the cast and Andy and Barbara Muschietti throughout, instead of the odd quote here and there but it's not really that kind of book.

Also, don't read this book unless you have seen both films because it's full of significant spoilers. It fully expects you to have scene both parts.

Recomendado pos obvio 😉

Truly a love letter to both fans of the movies, but also just movie making in general. It was very interesting to read about how they made all of the movie magic, as well as to see story boards and behind the scenes pictures. It definitely gives you a higher appreciation for film making.

It's a nice background/picture book if you don't know much about IT. Nothing I didnt really know besides a little BTS about filming. Lots of pictures, not much reading.

¡¡Perfecto!!

I absolutly loved this book! The title of this book speaks volumns as the author takes the reader inside the making of IT and IT Chapter Two. There are vignettes about each character and I especially enjoyed how the older actors from IT Chapter Two commected with their younger counterparts from IT. Understanding what went to the tedious research of these movies was really eye openeing for me. Kind of funny as eye opening is truly connected to these movies.

I especially enjoyed seeing how the actor playing Pennywise provided a lot of personal deatil to his role. It takes a true actor to be able to pour one's sole into their craft

I highly recommend this book. If you are a Stephen King fan and especially an IT fan, this book is a must read!

Buchrezension: "The World Of It" von Alyse Wax.

Fairly standard behind-the-scenes movie book, but with really nice production value. I love that they included a tear-out version of the "January embers" postcard. (Which I will of course not be tearing out...what am I, some kind of animal?!)

I wish the interviews had been a little more...let's say dynamic, and that there was more info on the casting process, because damn, the casting for these movies was good. The focus is mostly on set and character design, however. Not my primary area of interest, but hey--it may be yours!

I am somewhat trying to pretend that I didn't just buy this because I am in love with Richie Tozier/Bill Hader right now, but tbh: I bought it because I am in love with Richie Tozier and Bill Hader right now.

This is a lovely looking book with some great pictures, the main problem is that it is style over substance for much of the time.

The writing is pretty basic and doesn't really provide you with any new info or stories from the filming, I've read a few of these style of books before (Alien, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday 13th etc) and they all detail the difficulties that arose during the course of the film and tells of some funny/shocking stories, you won't find much of that here, it is very much formulaic.

Again, lovely looking book, great presentation, sub standard reading.

IT is one of my favorite Stephen King books and film adaptations. This book has awesome behind the scenes photos and sketches of production of both IT films. It also has excerpts from the cast and crew of filming the movies, it was so cool reading how the films were made and what the cast thought of certain scenes being filmed. Perfect for any Stephen King fan to add to their collection (Bonus: includes a Derry postcard!)

Excellent book for fans of both IT films. Plenty of inside information on the making of the movies. There are beautiful photos from the movies and interviews with both the children and their adult actors. Both the director and producer give plenty of insight on their approach to making the movies as well as many sketches made by the director. Great book for both horror fans and those interested in filmmaking.

A fine piece of memorabilia for any Stephen King fan. IT is not a story that can be completely told even over 2 movies. If you enjoy the novel, you'll enjoy the backstory on how the new version came to be. Filled with detail about casting decisions and storyboarding, it's not a book you so much read as much as it is an extension of the movie you watch. Think of it as a DVD extra. Still, you'll want it in your King collection

If you are that person that stays in your seats in the theatre to read the credits - this is the book for you.

If you’re a fan of Stephen King - this is the book for you.

If you love Pennywise - this is the book for you.

Pennywise feeds on your fears, and once you let go of your fears - you are free.

Very cool book companion to the movies with some neat concept art. I did really wish the book had more text that went into more depth about the journey of making the films, how they adapted the book, the actor's process with the characters, etc. Most the information I already knew and you would know if you watched the movies. All the same, it was a lovely book.

how can i say something bad about this book? i’m totally biased. besides; there’s not much to criticize when it’s just a factual book. a factual book about what happened when creating the IT movies. but truly i did love this book and seeing things behind the scenes, and of course any IT lover will adore this book.

Amazing book! It was a very interesting experience to dive into the history of this movie’s creation. I would be more happy if there were more interviews with the cast and maybe a few cards/photos like the one in the beginning that can be taken off a page but overall it’s good.
